  1. You may want to consider a Virtual Balcony (Interior). I found, as a solo on Navigator, that the space was perfect, and having the VB screen made it amazing. I would imagine that would knock the price down by a few hundred dollars.
  2. My husband used a Royal Bank of Canada ATM in Nassau to get some cash on our stop there in December. Unfortunately, he didn't notice that the ATM only provided Bahamian $ (not US $), and so ended up with Bahama $300. It was a Sunday, so he couldn't go into the bank to ask them to do anything about it, and it was our only port stop in the Bahamas. I've contacted RBC here (in the US) and they said they can't exchange Bahamian $ for US $. I've checked with Travelex, local Bank of America, and other institutions, and none of them will do the exchange either. Short of scheduling another cruise that visits Nassau (or Freeport, I guess), or traveling to Canada, I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?
  3. A suggestion: if you have bags that you're going to check with a porter prior to boarding, then one person walk them over first thing in the morning (like 8:30 ish) ) and check them in and walk back to the CP. Then take a leisurely stroll over after breakfast to board the ship. It's literally a 10-15 minute walk, and quite pleasant.
  4. @roupaI'm sorry; I missed your comment and now can't see it. For this particular excursion, we did not need (and would not have wanted) long pants. The saddles were comfortable enough and I didn't encounter any discomfort wearing shorts. Hope this helps.
  5. Navigator of the Seas Cabo and Ensenada, March 22-27, 2023! Interior Virtual Balcony. Looking forward to re-visiting the Riviera Hotel in Ensenada for another original margarita (plus it's just so pretty!), and whale watching or snorkeling in Cabo.
  6. I just did this in early November. The first waterfall, the jump was about 12 feet, and there definitely was a wooden ladder you could opt to climb down. As @HangryGrlnoted, there is a (definitely) wood ladder at the waterfall with the higher jump, and I noticed that the guides were very supportive in whatever the guests chose to do. It was an awesome experience :-)
  7. I booked this excursion through Trip Advisor / Viator with D.R.S.S. Tours; Rosario was fantastic and did an excellent job of narrating during the ride, keeping tabs on the time, and taking the time to go through downtown on our way back since we wouldn't have time to explore on our own. It is listed as "Puerto Plata Taino Bay 7 Damajagua Waterfalls and Lunch Excursion."
  8. @New2cruise2022I'm sorry I took so long to reply -- I was on a cruise! I have done the "drag and drop" routine several times now, and it has worked well for me (by Drag and Drop I mean dropping off my "big" luggage well before my embarkation time). In one case, I walked my bag over about 8:30 a.m., left it with the porters, and walked back to my hotel for breakfast; collected my carryon bag, checked out of the hotel (the Crown Plaza in San Pedro), and walked back to the port for my "scheduled" embarkation time. In Copenhagen, I did the same thing but taking the Metro from my AirBnB to the port and back. In Port Canaveral last week, used our rental car to drop off my husband and our bags, took the rental car back and returned to the port. In all three of these, the advantage for me was getting rid of my/our heavy luggage early -- and then coming back at a later / more convenient time with my carryon to check myself in.
  9. If you are a CostCo member, you may also want to check their travel site -- IHG is one of their featured chains, and I got a really good rate (in January 2022) when I booked through them. I think it was about $170/night
  10. One quick note on time -- and ship's time vs. phone time. I recently completed a Westbound Transatlantic, and rapidly found that the TV screen was my friend for keeping track of the ship's time (which, for me, was the crucial time to know). Adjusting my phone's clock for different time zones changing every day was a confusing chore.
  11. We'll be boarding Mariner in 6 days for the High Seas Rally (full ship charter). Thanks for such a great review, and for the drinks list :-)
  12. Definitely request it from Special Needs -- in my experience, the water and cord have been in my stateroom about 70% of the time. If they're not there, just remind your stateroom attendant the first time you see him/her, and the items will appear! BTW, your stateroom attendant will also secure the extension cord to the floor with tape so that you don't have a tripping hazard. Just ask -- and have a great cruise!!!
  13. :-) Okay, looks like I need lessons from your brother's girlfriend -- how to train my hubby to slip me the $100!
  14. If we're ever on the same cruise, I'd love a lesson on how to win jackpots! Congratulations!
  15. I'm looking forward to following along! We'll be on Mariner in 27 days on the High Seas Rally (full ship charter), so it will be great to read your impressions. I just got off Voyager after the Arctic Crossing (Copenhagen-Boston) and am looking forward to exploring another Voyager class ship. If it's not too much trouble, could you check out and comment on the bungalows at Nellies Beach / Columbus Cove? We have one reserved, and all of my research has shown them to be located at Columbus Cove, but the reservation says "Nellies Beach Bungalow."
  16. We have a "Nellies Beach Bungalow" reserved for our visit to Labadee on Mariner next month (early November). I'm confused at this point, and will try to check with RCL Shore Excursions, but hope someone can clarify: Are the bungalows on Nellies Beach, or are they only at Columbus Cove (or is it the same thing)? In looking at the maps (both Google and RCL), it appears that the bungalows (as opposed to the cabanas) are all located at the "far" end of Columbus Cove? How many bungalows are there? And is there a way to request a specific one? Does anyone have any recommendations or pictures you could share?
  17. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza as a solo traveler, and it was perfect. I got a really good rate, ordered and picked up a takeout dinner at the Green Onion restaurant right next door (this was January 2022), and walked my big suitcase over to the port early the next morning with no issues (about a 20 minute walk, dragging my 2-wheeled suitcase); then walked back to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast before heading back over to the port with my carry on to check in and board. Hotel was clean and accessible; room had a great view of the harbor (10th floor)
  18. @meabMy daughter (26) and I did do the horseback ride, and enjoyed it! It was a scenic bus ride to the stable, and we had a quick safety briefing, were fitted with helmets and asked about comfort levels with horses, and then matched up with our mounts! The horses appeared happy and healthy; they obviously knew the route to be traveled, and weren't barn sour at all. It was a pretty leisurely ride (at a walk) around the peninsula, then we stopped at the stable to drop anything we didn't want to get wet and headed into the water. It was (again) at a walk, but it obviously perked the horses up -- and cooled them off. Of course, at the end were the offered photo packages -- but I openly carried my GoPro and took videos with it and they had no problem with that at all. It's always been a dream of mine to ride a horse along a beach / in the ocean, and this particular shore excursion checked all the boxes. Would I do it again? Possibly, if it meant a lot to whomever I was with, but probably not as an individual, since I've "checked it off my list." It was worth it to me though.
  19. In my experience (this was late January), when my daughter couldn’t join me on a 4-night Navigator, she was a no show and I got double (well, quadruple because it was during the double point promotion) points. It was the second half of my B2B and I just told our steward that she wasn’t coming.
  20. Has anyone tried the kayak tours of the canals/waterways through Copenhagen?
  21. Thanks for the responses -- as I get ready to embark on my flight, I won't be using the CPAP on the flight, mainly due to the battery requirement. My original question was, I guess, poorly worded, given some of the responses. What I hoped to get was responses and experiences from people who had actually used their CPAP while aboard a flight. In the end, what I thought might be the end game was in fact the case -- most airlines require CPAP users on a flight to use battery power versus power outlets. Not an option for me, as my current CPAP and my travel CPAP aren't compatible with the battery I have, which I used with my old machine when camping.
  22. You might want to see if your cruise line offers "coffee cards;" for example, a 15-punch coffee card (good for lattes, too) is available on RCL ships for about $2/coffee. "Venti" size might take two punches.
  23. Thank you, @vjmatty. I had not heard of this technique, but will check with my doctor.
