I believe the point of sale machines have a function to generate a signable slip if someone cannot enter a pin. Just tell the assistant so they can press the correct buttons.

Best to keep with Visa or Mastercard. Discover is a no go.

Now for something completely different

Good luck with the surgery Lyle. now for something different. … wa’s problem with time zone. I have been over for a wedding, but still find things to shake my head about. Yes, Easter bunnies and Christmas crackers. -
It will be interesting to see what impact Bonza will have if it can get its permits to fly. Fare structures and routes seem different, hopefully in a good way. A friend, previously a cabin manager, is now at Bonza. He is very positive.

I had tried some of the links earlier in the day and got the message computer says no. I tried a couple just now and proceeded to the page. I wonder whether they were doing some maintenance earlier.

There is/was a myki kiosk on the upper floor of Station Pier to but a card, or Explorer pack. Someone who has been through there recently may provide up to date info. From the web, the Explorer would be the best value for a day visit.

No gratuity, really?

Coming this way next month? Hopefully you have the visa waiver process in hand. -
I was too young for that. Mum has always said my older brother missed out by being born 3 hours into the next day. Of course, we would be patriotic and fail the medical.

Happy New Year to one and all. I hope everyone has had their hulls scraped for successful cruising.

Luggage Tags Not Available at this time
Docker123 replied to Hot Chilli's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I have previously arrived at OPT without luggage tags (meetings in Sydney, followed by cruise). the very amenable luggage collectors had big bundles of tags and wrote them out for me.. of course, precovid. -
Cunard QE checkin procedures?
Docker123 replied to bazzaw's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Not sure if it meets the requirements, but the Medicare app can generate a digital certificate for Covid vaccinations. -

I hate building floods. One Saturday around lunchtime, when I was head of school, I got a phone call from my deputy. Security had contacted her about some flooding in our office area. Didn’t sound much, but just drove to campus to have a look and talk to security. Well, it was much. A high pressure water pipe for the fire system had burst. I was on the top floor above a suite of offices, including mine and my deputies, plus some secure storage rooms. A lot of water comes out of those pipes, fortunately a phd student came in to do some research and reported the waterfall. When I got there, the water was turned off and big fans were in place — and stayed a week or more. I asked about carpet replacement - not happening. When we opened the secure storage, we found severe damage to research and teaching materials. Many tens of thousands of dollars to replace, and a report to our accrediting body. My secure head stuff was in my EA’s office in a different location. Facilities eventually gave us the all clear to re-occupy. The smell was not pleasant. I got the Dean in and the head of facilities as I was not allowing my staff in. While they were there I asked if they had moved my filing cabinets, no was the answer. We had someone get a trolley and move one. A wonderous fungi forest was growing on the still very damp carpet. Weeks and weeks of disruption. -
Not quite a white (sand) Christmas. It was 10am and people are staking out there spots on Williamstown Beach. forecast of 30c, about 80F. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable season.

Leigh has given good public transport detail to the zoo. For variety you could consider tram one way and train the other. Admission to the zoo must be done online, not at the gate. It is a very good general zoo. Modern exhibition spaces and nice grounds. On a different orientation, if you are into sport the MCG tour and Australian Sports Museum are certainly worth considering. Either a nice stroll from the city centre, or short tram ride. https://www.mcg.org.au/things-to-do/mcg-tour

Aft promenade crew smoking disappearing
Docker123 replied to Tripmode33's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Absolutely. Prohibited under Australian law. There are no indoor smoking areas. -
These artistic renderings appeared after one of the “upgrades” to the operating systems. There were lots of requests to remove them, but it was made abundantly clear they were going to stay.

Visa for Australia/New Zealand
Docker123 replied to eccsr's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
You will need a visa for each country. Typically done with the electronic process (assuming you are travelling on an appropriate passport, US etc). The Australian ETA must be applied for through the app. Do it now in case of any glitches. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/electronic-travel-authority-601#HowTo New Zealand has its own process.
