Change booked passenger name?
Spurschick replied to lulabelle's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Depends on whether the guest that cannot sail is the first named guest and also when you are due to sail. need more info to answer. -
Which is why when we sail we only take small cases we can wheel on ourselves. No stress over what happens to our luggage then. We have seen way too many cases being thrown around by porters in our times. Also seen videos of luggage being fished out of sea. One must question what sort of state the culprits clothes in their case came out like if the OP’s was saturated. They would have had the bulk absorbed by their own clothes Plus the potential of damage from the broken glass. I’m sure they won’t be doing g that again in a hurry.

Hold that 2nd Lobster Tail and 3rd Entree in the MDR

Fortunately for me I am allergic to shellfish so I’m not missing out on anything😉 -
ICON of the seas - what are your first thoughts
Spurschick replied to bgoff60's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We are trying it but not sure what I think of it. Whilst it has more pools, they do look smaller and I can see them being very crowded. Will also be interested to see how it impacts CK/Suite areas. I don’t normally see lots of kids there - with there being lots more family suites will be interesting to see if it becomes more crowded. -
Another NCL change that I hope Royal doesn't follow
Spurschick replied to tx121's topic in Royal Caribbean International
True, however old Cococay days if you were in a suite or had Pinnacle status there was an area you could go to for a more elevated experience. Labadee has Barefoot Beach for Suites/Pinnacles CocoCay has nothing anymore. -
Which is why I said OP is on a different class of ship. I was stating that this is not the case across all the fleet. The thread title of Suite Lounge can be misconstrued if people think all class ships are the same. The title was not ship specific, until post 7. I was just trying to clarify the difference between ships.
-
Not the case with suite lounges on all ships. Oasis class ships do not have any other bars near them. I get the OP is discussing a different class ship but I don’t want unfamiliar cruisers thinking this is the same across all ships.

Agreed and sometimes even later if the ship isn’t cleared. -

I tried this on Prima and it was actually very good. It was actually a good menu and there was a daily special that changed daily. This was better because what they did was execute it very, very well with excellent quality In addition, whilst the buffet was small, the indulge food hall was magnificent in terms of options and choices. Before you “blame” NCL for the Prima downgrading food, maybe you should try it as it was far superior to MDR we have had on RC in a long long time. I could argue that RC nickel and dime everyone with charges at CocoCay -
I had an email from Ginelys the other day saying she was going on vacation and to contact Terrika. I emailed Terrika Friday and had a response Saturday morning.

Considering the Liberty or Vision of the Seas
Spurschick replied to PAcruiser25's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We love Oasis class ships, and tend to book them the most. Didn’t love the Liberty. We happily do older ships for better itineraries. It’s what you make of it and where you set your expectation levels accordingly. -
Agree - there are only so many times I can do Coco Cay and Labadee. Or should I say cruise to nowhere as we now stay on the ship more than we get off the ship. I’m actually booked on a ST Maarten, St Thomas itinerary on Symphony so I’m looking forward to that. But we have started booking other cruise lines to through in some refreshing ports, and not get stale. unfortunately our ABC cruise on Explorer got ruined by a tropical storm so we ended up with Falmouth and Coco Cay. ( ugh) We are try that again on a Panama Canal on Celebrity now. Since COVID and horror stories of luggage going missing a lot we try to limit flying these days

Wonder of the Seas - Medical Diversion, delay
Spurschick replied to sharktums's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have been out of Pc several times when there has been way more than 3 ships in and it certainly doesn’t add an hour to go 3 miles. I have i4 Disney traffic to contend with and it’s never taken me more than an hr from home, and never ever experienced traffic and congestion at the port even with the wish, carnival , Harmony, MSc big ships all in. -

I’m sorry but English sausages are nothing like hot dogs. Not even closely resembling a hot dog. Even when I have cruised from Uk I have only ever seen them served for breakfast and never advertised as hot dogs. ( I appreciate it’s not you calling them hot dogs but what you said they were advertised as ) -
Wonder of the Seas - Medical Diversion, delay

Agreed and if the complainers were the ones whose loved one had the medical emergency I wonder if they’d still be complaining about the ship being delayed after RC did everything they could to look after their family member. -

Most reputable insurances will cover trip delay and additional expenses. -

Agree entirely. Maybe I have different perspective as we cruise regularly, but our daughter has a remote job and is in College. I would never ever book her on a cruise when she had to rely on internet to meet a deadline or complete an exam as it is just not that reliable. We were on Harmony and the internet was down and we were told it was fleet wide . It was down for hours, and that was when Hurricane Ian was headed for our daughters house and we were trying to stay in touch to make sure she was okay. If you are in the middle of the ocean please do not expect 100% reliable internet. People also have to realize that this isn’t just about getting a ship back to port and letting people off. They have to have customs and immigration officers available to clear passengers, as well as reschedule porters, check in agents etc to assist with debarkation and the new revised embarkation. -

This is why people need to buy travel insurance. I’m sorry but it’s not the cruiselines responsibility for people not buying this. FWIW if you are in UK you have to prove you have travel insurance to board a ship in UK maybe they should start making it mandatory here as well. -

I asked this regarding issues we had on a previously comped casino cruise and they gave us some obc. Then I read another thread where someone mentioned they actually got a retrospective refund YMmV but you’ll get something but if you don’t tell them it’s comped you are more likely to get more! Good luck
