Correct - I had a guest looking for a cruise that could neither embark or disembark on a Saturday as they stated they are not allowed to travel that day.

You only get internet included for GS or above on Oasis and Quantum class ships. You do not get it included on other class ships even in top end Suites.

Never had it on the older ones even when staying in Royal Suites.

Smart casual is fine i like to dress up, dh will put on slacks and a polo. DD puts on whatever she has remembered to pack 🙄

I follow your methodology, however we always book JS or above on non Oasis/Quantum ships and GS or above on Oasis / Quantum class. Sea class is not really anything to write home about. At least with Sky we get internet and CK. Star class for us was awful compared to top suite experiences on other lines so won’t pay for that again on Royal unless we get a really good Royal Up offer.

And yet I would rather be on Allure any day of the week regardless of length of cruise. there are plenty of Oasis class ships now to let one do short sailings.

All sofa beds are the same size pretty much regardless of ship (suites excluded) the beds are probably at best the size of a queen but you would have no privacy from the other couple. (And not always the most comfortable)

If you connect to wifi and select use app for free and you are on airplane mode AND you are on apple device you can text for free. It is how I stay in touch with DD when we leave her home sulking that we’ve gone on another cruise without her!!!

And yet you are okay with paying huge single supplement for the third cabin? It surely makes more sense to book a cabin for 2 with a connecting cabin for 3

Agreed the cucumber martini is excellent shame they do not do elsewhere on the ship The wellington is exceptional although we have found portion sizes to vary ship to ship oh and don’t forget the Nutella Cheesecake desert

Depends on the suite and the ship Star class I have been offered it as well as RS in non oasis / Quantum class ships.

Try the casino thread you may have more luck there never seen a minimum to add to sea pass.

The Suites have shampoo etc provided. I did find the rum based ones a little strong smelling. But I have never taken my own shampoo - I’d rather smell like a peppermint and rum distillery the bodyography ones are better IMHO.

You really expect me to remember 25 years ago? I know I first sailed on a cruise 30 years ago but it wasn’t with Royal. Which exact year I first sailed with Royal I can’t remember but I do remember that they changed the program at some point and points were recalculated.

It’s actually really good fun if you pay attention. the reason I say this is if you sit there and people watch - their order comes up in the glass by the side of the machine that’s making their drink it tells you how many shots they are having - as well as every step including the shaken and stirred part. It is hard to read and see if not paying attention as it’s in the glass. A lot of people probably just order the drink but if you watch the screen and the machine carefully it can be quite amusing - especially if people get confused ordering and end up with more shots then they expected.

Agreed, we have been on plenty of RC ships that don’t put towels in cabin, and others that have put towels in our cabin without asking if we want. We always sail in a suite but the consistency across the fleet varies. We have even had some that just turned up the night before arriving in Cococay without asking us.

It was lovely on the Beyond not having to check in/ out towels and just returning and picking up fresh towels whenever we needed. (And don’t get me started on the ice cold face clothes to cool off that they brought around the deck as well ) Sad I don’t have time to fit in another Beyond trip this year as had already fully booked my year up 😭

We did and the attendant didn’t scan them in properly and we got charged Just saying that people that have done the right thing can still get charged if they are not paying attention..

On our last CK cruise suites had priority, a pinnacle was allowed to make a (singular) booking upon embarkation and was waitlisted for other nights, the JS in the queue was advised that they had to reach out the morning they wanted to dine for dinner to check availability. it is really going to depend on how many suite guests are utilizing CK and how many are on dining packages, then how many Pinnacles are on board then the JS will just get the leftovers.

Yes if you don’t notice the charge added and don’t question it.

So as I am allergic to Lobster, can I order one and start bidding it out to the highest bidder now you all have to pay for a second one 😉

Whilst I sympathize that a port was cancelled I am not sure what you expect them to do? Lots of ships have ports cancelled or changed. That is always a risk when cruising. We have had a cruise to the ABC islands and ended up in Jamaica As they say “ship happens”

I did one cruise during super bowl and it was on every where and anywhere. Oh and they ran out of beer during it too.,!,!!

Whilst I agree 1/2 the casino is non smoking doesn’t stop people walking through with cigarettes claiming they didn’t know they were in the non smoking side and the smell of the smoke drifting over to the non smoking side. Celebrity, some MSC ships are smoke free. NCL Prima had smoking section in its own enclosed room. I would spend more time in the casino if I could get away from the smoke.

Definitely make a reservation for solarium bistro one night for dinner. CP150 is a must for us on any ship that has it!
