we have done both funicular and cable car in Bergen but always independent of ship tours. We have been lucky with weather in Bergen 5 visits only one rain and that last Nov for northern Lights on QM2. Both have been offered by Cunard in the past but in my opinion not worth spending on (unless lots of OBC). Judge the weather on the day.

My TA has just advised that 2025 summer voyages will open for sale to WC members on Oct 4th. No release date but assume late September.

There are 2 docking options in Bergen. Both are 15 /20 min walk from ship to funicular.

There are 5 tours for our cruise, best of, Oia, Akroritia archaeological site, a basic coach drive and a volcanic hike to the island in the Caldera. All were sold out several weeks ago.

Going there in2 weeks on QV. Do a cunard tour which get you ashore quicker. Avoids cable car as it goes to new port which has road access If first time either do best of tour or one that goes to Oia. You will be dropped off in Fira with a complimentary cable car ticket.Dont wail down lots of donkey

Our cruise was booked on Arcadia on release this year. It is 4 2025.

No reason given, ironic because we were thinking of cancelling for QM2. We may now reconsider. A choice between itinerary and ship. It is an Arcadia cruise. .

There have been others recently as well. The MAIB will investigate this throughly without attributing blame. It is not a case of doing anything wrong. In 25 years of SAR I know how guickly weather events can change. I can remember 15 mile vis disappearing in minutes to virtually nil. did the wind come from landside or seaward? One is easier to forsee. The force pressure exerted on the ship would have been enormous, no extra ropes would have made a difference. .

I don't know the original cost of your cruise obviously but I would keep at it. To give u an idea our reduction would pay almost for a 7 day cruise
