  1. How long is a long layover? If more then e.g. 8-10 hours it is doable. However be back 4 hours prior your departure. Your luggage will go all the way to Copenhagen, you can store hand luggage at lockers. If less hours stay at the airport. Plenty of shops, restaurants and even a small Rijksmuseum.
  2. They are but not at the terminal. As far as I know they pick up at or near the parking area at the Sheraton airport hotel.
  3. sorry to read this. Maybe their english is not so good after all. Have a good trip.
  4. Due to traffic and parking problems etc. it will be extreme difficult to find a private guide in town nowadays. Some people who did tours in the past have stopped doing it. Amsterdam is more and more a city to walk around or use public transport. However you can try to find one on this website: https://www.toursbylocals.com/Amsterdam-Tours?gclid=Cj0KCQjw8O-VBhCpARIsACMvVLN7YrN4jQN0n1dX3q1Ua7bE6ngvKVtGwE0X1Vh6jR2FH8wBVHxaSPgaAm0tEALw_wcB
  5. Lisa you will have 2 locations of spoedtest near Centraal Station. One is near Victoria Hotel, the other is bit closer at Prins Hendrikkade. There is another one at Prinsengracht, but this rather long and I am not sure if this is close to e.g. Prinsengracht.
  6. If they know your flightnumber they know when to be there. Even in case of delay.
  7. It depends, do you want to see the old Masters, like Rembrandt, (The famous Night Watch etc.) or maybe Frans Hals , Vermeer and many others. Check their website: https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/whats-on Van Gogh is great if you like the way he painted, but indeed different from Rijks. https://www.vangoghmuseum.nl/en Be aware to book tickets online.
  8. The Botanical is indeed a great place to visit. They are in the top list of gardens. You might take cab or Uber to get there, it is about 24 kms. south of Vallarta. The drive down is nice, mostly along the ocean and partly inland. Getting there by local bus is a bit complicated. Maybe you can find some people on your rollcall that want to join you so you can arrange transportation. You will see certified guides at the dock and at the exit offering their service. Talk to them to make a nice deal. Did you check the garden website for much information? https://www.vbgardens.org/general-information/
  9. In Puerto Vallarta you need about 20 minutes by cab to get to the PV sign at the Malecon. In general some people will be around for taking photos, but I have never seen a real line there. This website gives you some street food restaurants and others.https://vallartainfo.com/street-food/ Apart from that by just walking around you will see plenty of nice places to have a meal. Always make your price before entering a taxi. Cabs at the terminal charge in US$ per person, they can only drop you off not pick up in town. Regular cabs charge per ride, not per son, but again check the price before entering.
  10. Yes it is walkable, just keep walking along the water and enter the station through the northern entrance. Depending your luggage of course.
  11. In Puerto Vallarta you will see certified guides (ask for their license in case of doubt) on the dock or at the exit offering all kinds of tours. Talk to them and see what they can offer you. Maybe a private tour or with a small group.
  12. Better to take a cab to the airport. Indeed there are still a lot of problems and waiting at Schphol. In general more on weekends then on week days. Check e.g. this website: https://www.taxiticket.nl/en/luchthavens/
  13. Close to the terminal in Puerto Vallarta you will see the beach with a special public entrance. However that means you need to bring you own towel, chair etc. Hotel like Marriott and Westin in the Marina area often offer daypasses, depending on the occupancy. It is a short cabride from the terminal. Their fee is partly used for food and drinks. They are on the beach and have pools. If you take a cab or local bus to Playa Los Muertos ( centre of town) you will find restaurants on the beach. They offer bathrooms, sometimes also towels, but I have never seen a shower there. Most of them offer is for free or for a small fee., but of course you need to buy food and drinks.
  14. In Puerto Vallarta the Malecon in the centre of town is the best area for walkers. You need a cab to get there. It is flat, nicely situated along the ocean, but be aware of the special path for cycling. Also the Malecon in the marina area (not too far from the terminal but again better to take cab) is a nice area to walk around and have a drink or meal in one of the restaurants. You might even spot the local crocodile swimming around there.
  15. I checked with AF house. Unfortunately they donot give the exact time of release as they are still often working and sometimes changing parts of their website. So indeed the best advise is given by dutch girl, keep trying as much and early as possible. I know time difference between The Netherlands and the US west coast is 9 hours, which might make it rather difficult what would be best.
  16. they go for sale on the 1st Tuesday in September. Be also aware of the time difference!
  17. Just take the hopon off bus that leaves from close to the terminal. It will bring you a.o. to the Mt. Aksla viewpoint. https://city-sightseeing.com/en/66/alesund/71/hop-on-hop-off-alesund
  18. That company is not an excursion company but a reseller of tours done by others. As far as I know it is legit.
  19. Alesund has a hop on/off bus, which also brings you to the viewpoint at Mt. Aksla. Flam railway, book it on line. If more ships are in port trains are often fully booked. If you still have time left check the bus to Stegastein viewpoint. Kristiansand is a nice small town, easy to walk around.
  20. Check spoedtest.nl they offer various locations in Amsterdam
  21. We did the trip Alesund to Geiranger a few years ago, as a ship excursion, it will be a full day. Yes absolutely worth doing it, also because the bus will use some ferries to get there. We loved it. The 2nd time in Alesund we rented a car and drove to Trollstigen., this will depend how much time you will have in Alesund. We also loved that. On the way back we also visited the viewpoint on Mt. Aksla. Avis was (and probably still is) walking distance from the ship. To answer your question, yes Geiranger nr. 1 and Trollstigen nr. 2 We never visited Molde.
  22. Or change to a ship that gets to Vallarta on Thursday and leaves at night. I remember a few years ago friends came on a HAL ship that left at 9 pm that thursday night.
  23. To the port yes, from the port only if you walk away from the cruise terminal.
  24. Yes we have been there many times and love it. Be aware the market is only on Thursday night during wintertime. It is on the Malecon area at the Marina. Marina is more or less walking distance, (I think about 20/25 minutes) north of the cruise terminal. Check this map: Puerto Magico at the bottom is cruise terminal, the words Nima Bay is the area for the market. https://vallartainfo.com/puerto-vallarta-marina-map/
