  1. Interesting, when I try a booking it says 60 days...
  2. See my post above for this years excursion and price directly from My Viking Journey
  3. Mine took 6 months...my wife who submitted the renewal a couple of weeks after me only took 3 months.
  4. Went north and not south but didn't have any mosquitoes this January.
  5. Here's what it looks like this July: Full-Day Railway Journey to Voss $259 Per Person Day 4 – Flåm, Norway Wednesday, July 19 10:30 AM 7 Hours EASY MEAL SIGHTSEEING UNESCO The Quintessential Norway Experience Marvel at Norway’s stunning beauty during a breathtaking full-day “Norway in a Nutshell” experience. You will board the world-famous Flåm Railway at the cruise pier and climb nearly 3,000 feet through 20 tunnels and over numerous bridges. Stop at Kjosfossen waterfall for photos of this pristine natural wonder. You will change trains and continue to Voss, where a motor coach takes you to the Molstertunet open air museum. Here, you will gain rich insight into 18th-century life in these high mountain valleys. Continue to Tvinde waterfall for a photo stop. Enjoy lunch at the famous Stalheim Hotel, with magnificent views of the Naerøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from the veranda. Return to your ship via the mountain descent known as the Stalheimskleiva. With its steep grade and 13 hairpin turns, this is not a trip for those who fear heights.
  6. As I recall you have to be able to climb stairs to the loading zone.
  7. Thanks for the info! This is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately it's not offered on the day we disembark and the two tours that are offered are too long.
  8. Oh I own a suit, but after a few cruises it no longer fits!
  9. Starting to do some planning for our first Viking cruise this summer. We disembark in Reykjavik for our independently booked return flight leaving at 5:00. On the large cruise lines there are normally tours with airport drop off offered. I'm wondering if Viking might have something similar (nothing is listed under shore excursions). We have a privately booked Golden Circle tour the prior day so I'm just looking for something to fill the time before the flight that could accommodate luggage and an airport drop off. If not, what time must you be off the ship and am I better off with a Viking or private airport shuttle? Thanks!
  10. Shoot, the cruise we were on one gentleman wore pants all day and changed into shorts for dinner every night. Never could quite figure that one out.
  11. We did a tour in January. It ended up being only 3 of us in a van. The third was staying in a nearby hotel. The van had seen better days but the guide was excellent.
  12. If you take the longer north loop you will spend some time on a highway once leaving Rincon. Just stay to the right and it will be fine. All of the cars were courteous and most even gave the local friendly beep when going by.
  13. Speaking of railways...When looking at the Bergen Line schedule on Vy there are blue trains and red trains. What is the difference between the two and is one preferable? Thanks
  14. Could you explain this nightlight on the floor for a newbe. Where is it and how does it turn on or off?
  15. It will likely be time enough to see a couple of planes, but not necessarily large ones. If you're familiar with aircraft types, this will give you an idea. https://flightaware.com/live/airport/TNCM
  16. Both Lyft and Uber work universally. You'll need a connection to know when your driver arrives and to identify them. After that, the only things that I recall being online for were to follow the map and to keep track of the ETA. Beyond that the only post pickup activities on the app are to rate and tip the driver (yes, tipping is a thing here). Neither of those is mandatory and I suppose cash would always work for the tip if anyone carries cash anymore.
  17. There was a priority line in January when we were there.
  18. Did a private tour with them last March for a group of 7. I would concur with the reviews.
  19. I never had any problem parking. There was always a place big enough for the cart.
  20. I've had that happen too, but I'm not so sure that the tips aren't pooled somehow. Otherwise there'd have to be some kind of agreement on who grabs when...
  21. If I recall correctly they have 2. I have no idea how to go about getting one since normal reservations are for the two seaters.
  22. Let's be a little careful here. They may in fact have the best wifi. It was reliable and fast. That doesn't mean they have the best internet. They seem to mention both interchangeably when in fact they are two separate things. Wifi connects your device to the system. Order drinks, look at menus, locate shipmates, etc. That always seems to work just fine. It's their internet that sucks. They may in fact have the best wifi and the worst internet.
  23. They didn't take a credit card number at all when I reserved. They sent me an email that had information in it and asked me to reply if I wanted to do so. I replied that I did and they responded confirming that they had my reservation. They only took my card when I checked out the cart. I do note that they take reservations directly on their website now. That's new since I reserved. I would suggest just emailing them and see if they would take a reservation that way.
