Pretty much most cocktails however, the brand of spirits used is the difference. New Amsterdam Vodka vs. Tito's

This only occurs if you order/drink in the Diamond Lounge. If you order at a bar w/ your three free drinks that are issued on the seapass, you can order Tito's or other top shelf liquors.

So the new game in town is to call Royal, get one drink package and a beverage package while both parties are going to drink.  Hum...

The policy still remains one has drink package, all have it. Exceptions are permitted on case by case basis. Any plan to get around the policy to continue to drink is gaming the system.

It’s not a game. It’s also not new.  Look, I can only speak for myself but I purchase the Bev pkg, the wife doesn’t. She doesn’t drink as much as I do. So... we call into RCL. They make the exception where the website doesn’t. We’re both Diamond. Between the happy hour perk and/or the three drinks placed on her SeaPass, she’s good to go. And if she wants a drink outside of the Happy Hour perk she pays.
Try it. It works. Or at least it has on our last four or five cruises.

Not really true. There was a post a month or so ago from someone who had a package and a refreshment package. The person with the refreshment package bought a drink at one of the bars, later that night they checked their account on the tv and found that a refund had been given for the refreshment package and a new bill for a full UBP package.  May be rare but exemption  from the package is because one can not drink.

If an automatic charge for a UDP showed up on my credit statement, I'd refuse to pay it. I'd object and demand an investigation & refund.

Anyone that doesn't believe in man made climate change really shouldn't be allowed outside without their carer. There can be no allowances made here. Climate change is happening and everyone needs to act. Unless of course people believe people like sir david attenborough are liars.

Well if this is your really position on the subject... just stop cruising. For you are admitting that you're persnally contribuitng to man made climate change.

  5. Get a Suite. Not to sound too harsh but it's your only re-course. I mean industry wide, cruise operators are now clearly dividing and seperating the passengers based on the cabins that are being paid for a particular cruise. RCL is either keeping up or setting the standard. But Suite passengers should be able to enjoy a private lounge from passengers that don't have like ammenities.

  6. Been there, done that. So two of things I would suggest. SIAP.

    1. I'm not sure of how many plan to attend the crawl but 15 min is not enough time to get drinks for all.

    2. Contact the Bar Manager when you arrive on the ship. Give her/him this schedule. This is important as the bars in most cases will not be able to handle a crowd of 30-40 peeps walking in at one time. They'll move bartenders w/ the crawl if planned.

Have a great time. They are very fun.

  7. Seeking a bit of help/recommedations. We're planning a cruise that offers a very small window of only 6 1/2 hours of port time in Sicily. We've never been so we're interested of course. But with a small amount of time... for those that have experienced this Port/City, what would your suggestion be of a must see or do?

    TIA !

Adventure does an 8 day out of Ft Lauderdale that does all three ABC's and has 4 sea days.

It goes from Saturday to Sunday

The SJ itineraries are port heavy, only 1 sea day in most cases

Good point. But in addition, flying to SJ for us out of Houston is quite expensive. We'd rather give the money to RC for the extra day on the ship and fly out of FtL.

  9. Halloween night fell on formal night and that was pretty fun too. The ship, Independence was dressed up really nice. They spent all night decorating and on the morning of Hallowwen it looked really nice. A nice passenger parade throughout the promenade occurred. It was a fun night and big party after the parade.

Enjoy it! Definitely take a costume.

  10. I  didn't purchase. It was kind weird seeing peeps take off their 'watch' bands to pay for drinks. Or pass it to a waiter at a show. Strange. Some like them, some don't. I felt they were somewhat clumsy.

FYI... the sea pass cards are water proof too. 😉

I was on Symphony a couple of weeks ago and they really pushed the $99/3 restaurants deal on the first day.  I didn't hear anything about a deal after that.

I didn't get it but I'd consider it in the future.  Went to Hooked for dinner and it was good but pricey ($60 including mandatory gratuity).

We had the 3 nught Specialty Dinner package as well. Pre-boarding price of $89 ea.

I also am reading a lot of posting of 50% off regular price. My question is what is the regular price? 50% off is a relative figure in this sense.
