  1. There is sometimes an option to purchase retreat benefits for others sailing with you but not in a suite. If it is offered it is only offered to the highest level suites and costs about $100 PP PD for the whole cruise. With the way suites have been selling it is probably not available that often.
  2. We have 3 bookings, one on Equinox that is past final payment. With all the travel headaches anymore we are quite prepared to cancel the other 2.
  3. Who cares, or why would you care if it is impacting your health?
  4. I emailed the executive office last night. They're going to get tired of hearing from me but they keep doing inexplicable things. I hope they get enough negative feedback that the reverse this decision like they did with the MDR menus.
  5. @bjahil47 Thanks for the information. Have you been by the casino yet? What is the situation there re vaping.
  6. Have you asked anyone about this? What is the overall feeling on board about it.
  7. If it is a holiday cruise about 90 days before you sail.
  8. This is from Celebity's website, maybe it will help: The best amenities, all included.* As a guest of The Retreat, you’ll also enjoy a long list of thoughtfully curated amenities that start with four newly added perks*—premium drinks, premium Wi-Fi, tips, and an onboard credit to spend almost any way you like. Premium Drinks Premium Wi-Fi Tips Onboard Credit *Special fares and MoveUp upgrades from non-suite staterooms do not receive these amenities. Here's the link: www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/suite-class
  9. Gratuities are increasing on July 11, 2023 per Celebrity's web site. Celebrity automatically adds gratuities** to guests’ onboard SeaPass® account, except for guests in Excluded Bookings*, as defined below, in the following amounts for sailings commencing on or after July 11, 2023: $18.00 USD per person, per day for Inside, Ocean View, and Veranda staterooms $18.50 USD per person, per day for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms $23.00 USD per person, per day for guests of The Retreat
  10. Our next 2 cruises, September 2023 on Equinox and March 2024, have suites fully booked. Except for suites and aqua there is a lot of availability. Our last 3 cruises since the pandemic, can't remember all the dates, also had suites fully booked. I know on Edge, even though bookings were at 50% suites were at 100%. We only ate in Luminae 2 or 3 times and the last night there was a long line. We wondered, after we were seated in the full dining room, why we didn't just go to a specialty because the would not have been full. I totally understand why luminae and blu would be limited as would passes for the retreat for non retreat guests.
  11. No, this is not about tipping the butler (who was called your personal retreat host for awhile), but about tipping the Concierges in the Retreat Lounge.
  12. Typically you would not be able to move the booking after final payment date. I would not take the chance on using the gift cards. But if you can move the booking and have to cancel you would be out the money anyways. I've heard there are some restrictions on how the cards are applied and how much you can use to pay for the cruise.
  13. We have and we haven't. I don't know what constitutes service above and beyond for the concierge. Printing luggage tags, making or cancelling reservations at the last minute, arranging a consultation with future cruises, what else have suite guests requested? I know this doesn't answer your question but interested in what others have to say. We've been sailing in suites since 2011 but they have not always had retreat concierges.
  14. We disembarked from there in January, embarking was from T25. It wasn't as bad as I expected, even though they did not have facial recognition. We were in a suite and hung out on the ship for about 30 minutes after breakfast. When we got in the terminal we hailed a porter who got us through a line to a taxi pretty quickly. Much better than the old double terminal that they used before T25 was remodeled (you had to walk down a long walkway outside the terminal before you even got into the terminal) but no where as good as T25. I would time my flight with this in mind but would still book an earlier flight and not linger on the ship.
  15. Yes you do. No idea why it isn't listed on the symbol key. Go to the web site, put in a sample of cabins in the find me cabin box and read the description. You could even create a spread sheet to share the next time the question comes up.😀
  16. Look at an image of the exterior of the ship. On the magic carpet side there are 3 lifeboats forward of the MC and 3 aft. They correspond to the obstructed view cabins marked with the diamond.
  17. If you go to the deck plans and enter one of the yellow stateroom #'s with the diamond the pop up shows it is a single stateroom with infinite veranda and an obstructed view. If you enter one of the stateroom numbers without the diamond, same description but no mention of an obstructed view. Compare 6144 to 6148 on Ascent and you'll see what I mean. I think it is the lifeboats.
  18. There is a big difference between Perks and Amenities. Perks for suites are premium beverage package, upgraded Wi-Fi, prepaid gratuities, and additional OBC. Amenities come into play with Royal Suites and above, Signature Suites on Reflection. They include unlimited specialty dining with no fee, a suite bar set up of 2 bottles of your favorite alcohol, unlimited laundry (often listed as 2 times per cruise but rarely enforced unless you abuse it) and some others that I might remember tomorrow. 😀 If you move up to a suite from a regular cabin you would keep your perks but not the upgraded perks for a suite. Nor would you get the additional CC points. Luminae would be your dining room and you would have access to the Retreat Lounge and Deck if there is one you your ship. You would also have a butler. You would also have premium beverage access in the Retreat Lounge but not necessarily other places on the ship. In Luminae, once you give your suite # when you check in it is probably unlikely that the Sommelier would ask to see your sea pass unless you go overboard with your selection.
  19. With the announced changes to the Caribbean sailings, 3 and 4 days on Equinox and 6 night sailings on Beyond throughout the summer in 2024 I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 versions of the MDR menu. One for these Caribbean sailings which are obviously geared towards families with kids, and other sailings throughout the world. The other sailings would have menu's more appealing to traditional Celebrity cruisers.
  20. We like the staff and laid back atmosphere when we want to relax or activities if we want to be active.
  21. I would like a stop at Coco Cay but not going to do a 6 day or less cruise to get there.
  22. Sure, my husband loves a double whopper with cheese, I hate them so a split decision here.
