  1. I hate to see too much food and know I'm going to waist it. I hope we can ask them to cut the portions down to 1 person vs 2.
  2. How about a webinar with the new president worth 5 points. It would be well worth it.
  3. Check the evening menus for Sushi on 5 in the app. Scroll across the days and if there is a Taj dinner it will show the menu and date. You cannot book it pre cruise and it is pretty popular so ask when you board. I think the price is $49 PP + gratuity.
  4. Can I ask in all seriousness, why are you not cancelling the next 3 cruises on Celebirty if you are ready to move on, or are lowering your expectations?
  5. Celebrity used to have a Lift and Shift program but that is long ended unless Celebrity cancels your cruise. If you are unable to take the cruise and it is before the 90 day deadline you have 2 options right now. Forfeit the entire deposit. Or, move the sailing to a different date and/or ship, keeping the same booking number. In this case you would lose $100 PP from the deposit. The new cancellation deadlines would coincide with the new sailing.
  6. Amenities and Perks are different. There is a big perk difference between a Sky/Celebrity Suite and a Royal Suite. The RS includes the bar set up, mini bar, laundry, unlimited specialty dining and a few other amenities. These are not part of a Celebrity or Sky Suite. All of the suites, including Sky Suites, come with the beverage package, WiFi, prepaid gratuities, and On Board Credit as perks. You do not get these perks with a move up bid. If you move up to a RS or above you get the amenities.
  7. I haven't been on the revolutionized M class ships. I don't remember them pre revolution. I know there was one in the Edge PH over the coffee table that my husband was always bumping into. Also in the Cafe on S class ships. Again, never an issue for me. 🤩
  8. @Jim_Iain gave a good analysis of the differences between the classes. We prefer the M & S class retreat lounge to E class. Our only time on Edge we felt that there was no personal attention. However, I've never hit my head on any of the light fixtures, too short for that kind of thing.
  9. I liked the aqua panna and San Pelegrino. The cans were fine. Can't stand Evian, would rather drink the ships water as long as it is ice cold.
  10. It's hard to remember the service we had when we started sailing in suites, except for our butler Boris in our first sky suite in 2011. We have gradually moved up in suite levels to the point that we sail in RS or PH but I can say we have rarely been disappointed in the service with one exception. It wasn't that the service was bad, it was just a job. But, we have observed that the higher the suite level the more attentive the butler is.
  11. Can you clarify please? The amount of a Refundable deposit was more than $2000 per person? Or was the price difference $2000 for refundable vs non refundable. Again per person or total. If you move the booking to another ship or sailing date, is there a per person change fee or is the whole deposit lost? Thanks.
  12. When that time comes I won't be here to make a choice😀
  13. No, the butlers on all 3 cruises, (Edge, Silhouette and Reflection) mentioned the afternoon tea in the retreat and did not offer to, or bring us an afternoon snack. As I said, we really didn't want or need anything to eat so didn't request it. Otherwise everything we expected from a butler was delivered. We did have a party both times in the PH and had a lovely set up provided by the butlers.
  14. Since cruising resumed we have been directed to the lounge for afternoon snacks. We were in a PH twice and most recently a RS. We didn't push it because we felt we had enough food during the day. If we did want something and the butler declined, we would have quiet word with the concierge. In both our PH sailings the butler did offer to have a special dinner prepared for us and served in our suite. We took him up on one offer and had an excellent Indonesian meal.
  15. @mahdncYou are correct, The specialty dining prices for New Year's eve were at least $100 + gratuity. There was a not so special menu in Murano's. It consisted of the regular menu with 2 appetizers and 2 mains prepared differently from the normal preparation. They also did not have dining packages or reduced prices on board. We weren't on for Christmas but the restaurant prices were the same as New Years.
  16. Suites are sold out. We are not cancelling, paid in full and hotel and air booked. See you on board.
  17. Suites do not have a service fee for room service. At first I took the posters RS reference to mean Royal Suite, then I realized it probably meant room service.
  18. After our first experience we now know to have a bottle of wine in our suite if we are in GC.
  19. We had unrealistic high expectations on our New Year's cruise based on 2 NY cruises in 2011 & 2012. We should have realized both Celebrity and the times have changed. We were at the point where we were ready to cancel our September cruise. Then said, wait a minute, what do we want to do get out of a cruise. For us, it is relaxation, someone to do housekeeping, cooking, cleaning up, etc. When I'm tired at the end of the day with aches and pains and don't want to cook I know Celebrity will do a better job than me. We looked back on our 2 other post covid cruises and said, "they were great". So, here we go again in 90 days. Have things changed, yes but so have things on land. Our favorite restaurant shut down, then their catering/home delivery shut down. Another favorite restaurant drastically changed their menu to the extent it was not recognizable. Things change, and we have to either adapt or stop cruising with Celebrity. Right now we are willing to adapt so will board Equinox in 3 months and still have hopes of reaching Zenith..
  20. As long as the majority of the deposit can be transferred I'm good with the new deposit amounts. Looking to upgrade our March cruise but the only way we could afford it is with a NRD. If we can transfer most of the deposit to our December 2024 cruise I'm good with that. Beyond that point, we will either not be cruising or it will be a problem for our estate. 😉
  21. Retreat Lounge on Reflection was closed in Grand Cayman. If you wanted beer it was available in the coolers but no wine. I'm glad our next 2 cruises don't stop in GC and wish they would change that port on our sailing in December 2024. We are on Beyond so maybe the retreat sun deck will be open.
  22. Ok, so the pool bar is open and bar tenders will get you a drink. What about a glass of wine or 2 at lunch at Sushi on 5 for instance? Will the waiters head up to the pool bar for wine?
  23. Nothing to stress about. Just go with the flow and enjoy your cruise. Personally, I never saw the point in booking select dining then trying to book reservations each night. The whole point of select dining is to go when you want. If you have to wait 20 minutes go and have a drink and enjoy yourself. Or, go 20 minutes earlier the next day.
  24. Final payment for our September cruise on Equinox is due tomorrow. So far there are only 2 sky suites available. It's been that way for quite a while.
