  1. It's a mainstay of Compass Rose. I am betting some folks did not find any issues with them. I am really an escargot fan so my requirements might be different. All I knew is that they were not like the escargot I had gotten on Regent in the past -- which were amazing. Perhaps I would not even have noticed if I had not had them on Regent before. Expectations!

    tote bag?

Thx. I will pack one. Maybe Crystal for old time’s sake. Lol
  3. On my two cruises on the Moon, the voices of Silversea were spectacular. I wonder what's coming.
  4. Like any other business, they will price with respect to what the market will tolerate. If the high end suites get booked at those rates, the rates will stay the same. If not, we might see a price reduction. We love the Silver Suite -- perfect for us. We crave space. Pricey but not over the top. Part of my plan to bounce my last check.

    tote bag?

Backpack. I’ve been in silver suite twice. No backpack. Is that for expedition?

Can anyone confirm? I’m in silver suite

    tote bag?

I think I asked this question before and after 2 Silversea cruises I cannot recall the answer. LOL I also cannot find a definitive answer after a search. Does SS supply free tote bags in any category? I searched my house and I couldn't find one (plenty of Regent totes) so I am assuming the answer is "no."
  9. Duplicate bridge if you are a bridge player. The cooking classes on the newer ships are excellent. You must reserve in advance. They fill up quickly. I second the country fair. I usually do not participate in such events but it was a lot of fun.
  10. The quality of food has a lot to do with the itinerary and suppliers available on that itinerary. On a recent Regent cruise from South Africa to Buenos Aires, the escargot in Compass Rose was awful (I usually get a double order on Regent). I commented and that earned me a meeting with the F & B Manager and the Exec Chef. I was told that escargot from South Africa are sub par and I should wait until we stopped in Rio to order escargot again. Spot on. From that point on the escargot was as expected.
  11. I will look again Found it I looked in the description not at the header.
  12. Interesting I only saw square footage listed for the Crystal PH.
  13. I do not disagree. But Regent essentially has the same core customer and they do not cater to us. There was a recent thread on the Regent boards suggesting that Regent should provide tours for those with mobility issues because there are so many wheelchairs and walkers on board. I do not agree with that premise. If you have limitations you should not expect anyone else to take care of them -- and you have no guarantee that what they offer will be suitable. Limitations can be all over the place. One size does not fit all. We do our own thing that is good for us and that's how we continue to travel and have a great time. We just got off incredible cruise on Seabourn to small islands in Greece and Turkey with our good friends. Had marvelous private guides and did not miss a thing. I do very careful planning. But I do appreciate the offerings on SS. Gives me more options.
  14. Here is one comparison important to us. We have travelled the world and done all the hard stuff. Now we love sea days. As we get older we don’t like and can’t do long difficult excursions. Plus my husband has some mobility issues. On regent, despite the fact excursions have proven to be awful, they are usually fairly strenuous. We book private tours when we sail regent. Unavoidable. ss is totally different. Plenty of choices for tours with “minimal activity”. Makes a big difference for us.
  15. If you have a ta, he or she should be able to educate you
  16. I just don't think you can extrapolate relative ratings from the reviews. And who knows who these reviewers are? What is the framework for their opinions? Are their tastes, likes, dislikes similar to mine. If I get a review from friends I travel with (negative or positive) or someone on CC I respect, it carries weight. Reviews from perfect strangers just don't move the needle for me.
  17. I don't understand those reviews. They certainly don't comport with my experience. Unfortunately unhappy cruisers are more likely to post than happy ones. I have never posted a review.
  18. Their ensemble singers blew us away. Fantastic on both cruises. Regent has upped its game. Just off seabourn. Entertainment better than ever.
  19. As a Crystal refugee (who is not going back), had it not been for Crystal's demise, we would not have found Silversea. We love it. Our favorite of all the luxury lines. We are boarding Moon for the 3rd time this July (3 weeks in Iceland) and have 4 more SS cruises booked after that. I think it's better than Regent or Seabourn (but I will sail those lines based on itinerary). I found enrichment and entertainment on par with Crystal. Every cruise is different.
  20. I am doing my own air because Silversea is only doing Economy air to Anchorage. We booked hotel (including extra night) and all transfers with Silversea. The very healthy air credit will help with first class fares
  21. My friends are on the Silver Wind now. They are raving about everything, especially the food. There is a wonderful live from thread. We love Silversea. After Crystal went bust we were so disappointed. Blessing in disguise. We love Silversea. Third cruise this July and 4 more booked.
  22. Does anyone have information? I searched to no avail
