  1. And my guess is that what that means is that if there were no reservations allowed, there would be a LOT of unhappy people having to wait. At least with being able to make reservations, if there are none available for your desired time, you know in advance you may need to plan on the buffet or specialty dining for that exact time for that night. Otherwise you're having to decide if the MDR is worth waiting for or if you want to do something else - which would likely be the buffet - spur of the moment.
  2. Tips AFTER the fact? Absolutely. Along with a mention by name in an email following the cruise - THAT goes much further than simply adding tips while on board as it gets their name out there for promotions which have higher pay scales in the long run. Bribes BEFORE the fact? Nope.
  3. Maybe some of us want to eat at a certain time but the early is too early and the late is too late. Ergo we can book select and set a reservation for the in-between time we prefer. Now, if everyone was making their reservation for the fixed times, that's another thing. But I suspect most who pick select and make reservations do so at an in-between time. And also, at least in the past, select gets your own table by default but fixed you may be put at a table with strangers.
  4. When I was on the Edge in Feb 2020, I had the Premium package and regularly ordered - and was handed - a bottle of water with each drink I got. (No bribery occurred to get that - I'd seen people on here say that they would order a bottle of water with their beverage and get it most of the time.)
  5. Pretty much all call centers have long wait times now. And pretty sure most of the people who are calling have "genuine questions" and aren't just calling for s&gs.
  6. MANY people don't want to share tables with people they don't know. Some of us have had very bad experiences with forced socialization and prefer our own tables.
  7. Mine are showing in the app calendar for my February Apex cruise.
  8. My fave is the Black Magic Martini!! YUM!!
  9. I get it. Heck, I've even seen some that make it seem like I'll be second class by being in a Sky Suite. I'm just going to have fun and live my best life in that Sky Suite in February!
  10. When I sailed on Edge in Feb 2020 I was in a "lowly" single stateroom with IV and never felt "less than" anyone on board. As has been pointed out, many of the "LIVE FROM..." posts are suite guests, and I would guess that a lot of that may be that it includes the premium internet so it's easier to do that.
  11. I upgraded from a solo IV to a Sky Suite on Apex in February for just about $800! I couldn't have done a move-up bid for that little!!
  12. Great, thanks! Yeah, I've done the cancel and rebook at the cheaper price before - I'll definitely keep an eye out!
  13. This should be obvious, but I've learned that should be and what is can be different. I've booked 2 excursions for my upcoming Apex cruise using OBC. I was looking to see if any others have been added and noticed that the prices have gone UP on the 2 that I booked. I'm locked in at the price I booked them at as long as I don't cancel them, correct? Or will I end up charged for the difference in price once on board?
  14. Or download an app like DuoLingo and learn a little bit before the cruise since you (the OP) have until August. Even being able to greet someone in a ship or restaurant and say a couple of phrases - rather than just expecting the world to speak English - shows that you're trying and will make them much more likely to ask if English is better for you.
  15. Isn't that everyone in suites now? I thought the Premium Beverage Package is included with Suite booking.
  16. I just bumped up to a Sky Suite on my February Apex cruise thanks to the no-single-supplement promotion - figured YOLO, might as well go for it! Regarding the water and soda in the fridge - is that something that I could express in advance or would it be better expressed on embarkation day? I'd love it to be stocked with water and Diet Coke in it? It's just me, so I doubt that I'd need it restocked if that was a problem; but it would be nice to have it to begin with if possible. If it's not possible, I can certainly do the water myself - I usually ask for a bottle of water every time I get a drink - but is there somewhere you can ask for cans of soda?
  17. Pretty sure it originated with surfers to prevent a rash on their body from the board or the sand if they wiped out.
  18. Woohoo!! My TA is bumping me up to a Sky Suite!! It's just $800 more than my Single IV with the Indulge package - no brainer there!!!! It'll be my first suite experience!!
  19. Honestly I'd go with the rash guard. When I was on an excursion in Cozumel in Feb 2020, we were going to an EcoPark and it clearly said on the excursion description "Biodegradable Sunscreen Only". I'd put mine on in my cabin before heading to the excursion, and put the bottle in my bag. Got to the meeting point, and the guides had us put ALL of our sunscreen in a basket and we only got it at the end of the excursion. They didn't care if it was biodegradable - ALL sunscreen had to go in the basket. And yes, they did a bag check after to make sure no one was hiding any. I didn't get AS burned since I'd put it on in my cabin, but I could have used a reapply after the snorkel portion. So just be aware that they may take the sunscreen for the excursion duration anyway. (And from what I understand, at any of the dolphin excursions you have to shower before getting in with them, so anything you'd put on would be washed off.)
  20. @mahdnc So if it says "100%" in the single supplement column, it should be included? I looked at mine online - just the Celebrity website - and it did show the 60% off which is the current advertised promotion. If my TA goes through the site you listed (I assume a TA site) it should drop it to 100%?
  21. Actually it's folks who go anywhere outside their home, even when masked. I got COVID after flying back to NYC after being home for Christmas. I had a KN95 mask on the entire time. The flight was the only place besides my parents' house - where everyone was negative - I would have been exposed. Wore the mask. Still got it.
