  1. Which date are you doing in 2024? We are April 18, 2024.
  2. Question for those that are traveling now or very soon from the USA. What airline did you fly? What was your route? Did you arrive prior to embarkation date? I usually purchase my airfare the first month they go on sale. For me that is coming up in the next few months. We will fly to Tokyo and home from Singapore. (Maybe home from Thailand.)
  3. We are booked for April 2024 and I am following this string for information and ideas.
  4. I just booked (Club World Owner's Suite) for a 15-night Japan sailing in 2024. I just learned about my status resetting with the new website on CruiseCritic. I had several calls to Azamara before we booked. The Azamara rep talked about the inclusive and luxury experience of Azamara. (I call it premium.) Nobody from Azamara told me I would lose my status. When I sign onto my account on Azamara, it states that I am a Discoverer. I did call Azamara again and asked a direct question about this and they told me that I will lose that status when the new website goes into effect. Not really sure what perks I will actually be losing.
  5. I saw that on the website. It is February 19. That is why I am confused.
  6. EDITED - I JUST SIGNED ONTO MY AZAMARA ACCOUNT AND IT SAYS I AM "DISCOVERER WITH 660 POINTS (FROM CELEBRITY). I have read through this, and I am still confused. When I board the Journey for my first cruise I am guessing that this means that I can upgrade to Unlimited WiFi for zero dollars. This makes me happy.
  7. I think we were on the same voyage (January 12 - 29, 2023). Someone on the 😀📚 page posted this map of our voyage that they made. I agree, it was an outstanding voyage and experience.
  8. Look at Hurtigruten. They are a Norwegian company. Get pricing from their US website (office in Seattle) for the expedition that interests you. Then go on the Norwegian website (www.hurtigruten.no) and get the NOK pricing and do the conversion to USD. Next, call the Seattle office and see if they will match the Norwegian website pricing. We saved a ton of money doing this. I did not want to book directly on the Norwegian site because of the translation issues and the T&Cs are different.
  9. A fun book to read or movie to watch - Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple Where'd You Go, Bernadette Trailer #2 (2019) | Movieclips Trailers - Bing video Purely fictional.
  10. You can purchase or upgrade just one person in the room once onboard. The only thing that they really stick to all in the room getting is the alcohol package.
  11. We were supposed to be on the Cruise that originated in Santiago on January 11, 2022, flying to Punta Arenas on January 12 for 18 days. Back then protocol was that we had to fill out reams of Hurtigruten online paperwork, get a negative Covid test within 72 hours of our flight to Chile, do Chile Government website forms, take another covid test in the Santiago airport, another covid test at the hotel, and another covid test at the Punta Arenas dock. Plus, we were expected to isolate at the hotel until the negative covid tests were posted. This year is so much easier. The people disembarking had to take an Covid test every few days (I think every 3-5 days) and then a test the night before disembarking to fly back to the USA and UK. It was the tests that were taken for flights home where they ten (or more) cases showed up which caused our Hurtigruten cruise to be cancelled last minute. There were several people who were already in Santiago. I will say that Hurtigruten has treated us right so far. We went from a 12 day on the Fridtjof Nansen to an 18 day on the FN, to 18 days on the Roald Amundsen without increasing prices. (Note that Hurtigruten has now changed how they count to how many nights instead of days. Our cruise is now considered a 17-night cruise.)
  12. We paid in July 2019 for a December 2019 expedition. Last January we were boosted, tested and filled out a mountain of paperwork. As we were closing our suitcases to head to the airport, Hurtigruten had to cancel our sailing due to ten cases of covid on the trip prior to ours. We are hoping/praying that this January actually happens. We have been traveling pretty much since March 2022 without problems. (Two trips were not cruises - Costa Rica, and Svalbard & Iceland.)
  13. Could you show where you got this information. I cannot find this requirement anywhere.
  14. Did you see Whales and Puffins in Husavik? We were supposed to drive to Husavik (stayed at Lake Mytavn) and take a boat tour and then go to GeoSea. Bad weather kept us at the lake.
  15. Try Delta through Atlanta. Also, it depends when you are flying. If you are flying this Antarctic season, you are late to the booking game. Also, just keep checking flight costs. I checked flights to Lisbon every day and caught a one-day business class reduction. Also, look at the seats in premium/comfort plus and look for a seat that does not have a seat in front of it. Although not a lie flat, he would be able to stretch out. Also, look at booking two separate confirmations. For example - Toronto to Atlanta on one booking, and Atlanta to Buenos Aires on a second booking. You would need to leave at least four hours between flights to retrieve your luggage, check in for the second flight, then go through security again.
  16. What happened that you only had one landing (and no ports) on a 25 day Antarctica trip?
  17. I am looking at buying our airfare for our NCL Sun cruise out of Lisbon in February. For those of you with firsthand experience, what is the earliest flight that we would be able to make flying out of Lisbon? I am thinking we need to spend one post cruise night in Lisbon.
  18. We looked at the .no sight and did the currency conversion to USD. Then called the Seattle office and they did a price match to the Hurtigruten.no price. doesn’t hurt to ask.
  19. Our Jade 2021 cruise was cancelled. We are rebooked for 2022 in the Garden Villa.
  20. If there are any other cabins available - there is a tiny line that says “choose another stateroom” it will only show 15 choices. Otherwise you need to call and have the NCL PCC or your TA check for you.
  21. We travel with friends. We have never taken this offer from any cruise line. Our friends have taken the offer (which can be cancelled up to final payment) and are monitoring the prices to Lisbon. We have not taken the offer and, for this trip, if we take different flights - so be it. While I am looking at prices of flights, I am taking into consideration the pricing of our cabin class and theirs. I have read what I would consider horror stories of multiple flights (instead of the most direct flights) or very long layovers, and also flights being changed (including carrier) up until almost flight day - making personal cabin upgrades a nightmare. I have also read of very successful flight arrangements. For our friends' flights, as of today, the cost of two tickets to Lisbon is only about $150pp more expensive.
  22. I am looking for recent reviews of NCL's Free Airfare for the 2nd Person. Were you happy with the flights? Was luggage and seat choice included? Once you were given the itinerary did NCL arbitrarily change your flights? (I know the airlines may make changes.) I know this topic has been discussed, but I am looking for recent experiences. Thanks
