  1. If anyone has been on the NCL's drop slide -- that's what the shower reminds me of. I'm 6' and it really is limited space but for my wife, 5' it was fie. A shower in a YC is probably 2 to 2.5 times that size.. As per the food -- I think the ones complaining about it were not in YC....I love the YC - enjoy your trip - following...
  2. For msc....I have a TA and have her deal with the mess....plus, with some TAs they give an additional bonus with booking with them. With that being said, I've never been able to put my cc is....but I'm from Canada, maybe that's the issue and just do it onboard. Check your cabin number...on this last cruise, what I booked originally was not what I had on my final document. It was a better room, so I didn't mind but curious as to how that happened. Enjoy ..I'm sure the weather is better than what we are having now .. Following.
  3. Was your cruise 2months out? I don't think (please correct me if I am wrong), any cruise line has a 24 hour "I made a mistake in booking" policy -- I know airlines do. CRUISES 4 NIGHTS AND LESS: · Cancel 74−51 days prior to departure: Deposit Non−Refundable · Cancel 50−31 days prior to departure: 50% of the total fare <--- that was you?? · Cancel 30−16 days prior to departure: 75% of the total fare As others have said, I would have tested the waters myself and make my own decision 🙂
  4. Maybe try in different light -- near win, washroom, etc... as blordos stated -- not the end of the world.they will still let you on... 🙂
  5. Supposedly, you can also do the drill the following day (when you can use the elevators). I asked this on my Dec '23 cruise because I cannot see my mom walking down/up that many stairs during the cattle call. Or, since we know what time the muster drill will start, I just can have her down near the muster station way before the drill, call in the stateroom for her and then she can scan her sea pass then.
  6. My Aug cruise this year on the seaside was delayed 3 hours, so we didn't get into port until 9am, so getting to MCO would have been tight.... If all goes well, then your time frame works...
  7. the 10% onboard discount was "sold" to me by the future cruise lady. needless to say, it was not true... it's the same costs, only difference is the OBC
  8. So unless my diamond status is offering a 10% discount, the price for my August cruise is the same online as they were offering on board. So only benefit was the OBC and flexibility (but that will remain to be seen).
  9. Just get WhatsApp or Line app or any other messaging services that use wifi. Set it up before cruising, rest it out....I think that would be easier than using the MSC app.
  10. I heard that 30% doesn't apply to YC any more, only suites but then I guess you could bid for an upgrade.
  11. Probably the same way they did new years eve....nothing special.
  12. I wish the 10% onboard discount was stackable with others.... otherwise, what's the point of cruising more to gain status?
  13. On the seascape right now and booking onboard gets your OBC, 10% off cruise price and ability to move the YC (if booking) deposit to another sailing or another person. The 10% discount is not addition to any seniors discounts or diamond level discounts...just 10%.
  14. Once I'm on board, the first few days go by slowly and then all of a sudden, it's time to disembark....there's a time shift once onboard....
  15. We have the same perdicament but porting in to Miami, flying out of FLL later that day (8:45pm), so planning to take a taxi to MIA airport, picking up a car and driving around either shopping or site seeing. Sitting at an airport for 10 hours doesn't seem like a good idea -- lounge or no lounge (plus I think they limit the amount of time you can spend in the lounge or what time you can check in, depending on your flight).
  16. Are you staying at Universal? I would think a car rental would be the easiest. I think Avis has a car rental drop off in one of their hotels.
  17. There's a reason the shows are short... With that being said, like the food, entertainment is subjective.... But I have to say, I prefer shows on RCCL and NCL more than MSC. Comedy was best on NCL, RCCL and then MSC (in that order). I have not seen Seascape's entertainment, so I cannot comment, but I wasn't impressed with the Seaside, Seashore or Grandiosa.
  18. Thanks for your review. Would you mind telling us what room number you were in? I'm heading out in two weeks, also in a Grand deluxe, so preparing myself for pool chair noises and kids if it is the same deck. Plus, who were your butler and jr butler?
  19. on the same cruise but two weeks later -- let me know what not to miss....
  20. thanks for info... tip = what excursions to do... it would be okay if she wore the YC robes... (joking of course)
  21. Thanks... 20 days and counting... Any tips on excursions? Anything you wished you had done? or done more of?
  22. Thanks for the review -- it is making me ache for my end of year cruise that much more. How did you like the stops???
  23. Is your cruise port Miami or FLL? I'm assuming FLL but couldn't find it in your post, because that would make a BIG difference...
  24. Your post made me relook at the OP's original post...looks like neither of his bookings are in the YC, he is just wondering if one of his bookings gets upgrade and then the other doesn't -- what are his options. So is one of their bookings in the YC or neither? Not that it makes a difference because I agree with most posters -- the answer will probably be no but there's no harm in asking when you are onboard. It looks like no one has heard or seen guests being invited (maybe they have gone on RCCL a lot and the suites are allowsed -- if room is available -- to invite guest to coastal kitchen for dinner). As per Seadwellers post -- I get the logic, she paid double, though she is single, so possibly they would make an exception...but I guess it will depend on the YC director.
