  1. Just curious if ship excursions ever go on sale? Or is it less expensive before the cruise? And lastly, if I change my mind, can I cancel onboard and credit me back or give an OBC?
  2. Oh I've explored but nothing really interests me... First time, did all the shows, walked the ship, went to a few different bars, etc.... Next time on MSC less shows cuz they weren't my cup of tea. Walked around a bit but found haven in my yacht club area so didn't really want to do much more.
  3. Seaside is my favorite -- feels very open in the lounge and the colors are bright. The pool deck needs more shaded area if you are not a sun worshiper but the buffet/bar up there is great. Grandiosa -- darker in color, and feels more cramped. I did like the pool deck because it had more shade but the buffet/bar was a lot smaller. All this relates the the YC ....basically, you can't go wrong being in the YC -- but if you are asking about the rest of the ship, we just stayed in the YC....
  4. I've cruised in the deluxe (Seaside -- side note, I think it is larger than the deluxe on the Seashore) and seen the grand deluxe on the Seashore (it was much bigger than the deluxe on both ships, had a walk in closet with a door -- friends sailed on it, so my Dec we booked that). I am a family of 4 with two teenage daughters and we were able to survive having a single bathroom (I do not know how). With that being said, in order to have more space but not cost me more money, my August cruise on the Seaside is two YC inside cabins. So, if your budget affords it, you could book a deluxe balcony and then an inside for the kids (of course, one adult per room and then switch).
  5. This has been debated on the YC interloper forums. No, it is a fair statement...
  6. I know on other cruise lines you can just get key cards made for the rooms.
  7. It is so... I think you need more points (lose more money) for it to be applied to a YC booking.
  8. Main difference (full disclosure - I have not been on the Divina) the YC restaurant is not in the YC enclave but a separate part of the ship. Some don't mind the walk, others do...
  9. I had to google what "keel Hauled" was -- that it was a spelling mistake -- lol....
  10. So Harsh --- maybe just make them be an honorary pool attendants for the day? Work off what they ate/drank...
  11. When NCL was first to have slides and my kids were older, we went that route. MSC does have nice waterparks and their jungle pool is large, covered, and indoors but most kids are happy to be entertained in any clubs but I think RCCL would still be the best for your kids' ages -- the kids clubs are amazing and now with a waterpark and slides, it is a no brainer. As for the YC, I think that would be more for the parents than the kids (unless the price was port taxes only, I'd still pick RCCL)...
  12. That being said, I think there was another poster in your similar situation that was able to upgrade both but I would expect it to be very unlikely, even if you bid a high bid.
  13. Kicking them out doesn't do much .... There's has to be a penalty... monetary, for the interlopers and those who aid them. Charge them a large fee and maybe they won't do it again...
  14. thanks -- well, at least you have two cabins that (hopefully) are side by side -- I have that for my upcoming cruise because my wife would kill me having all of us in the same room...your might be more understanding 😉
  15. So MSC present sale is funny... I priced out my YC August 2023 -- cabin for 4 If I select the option for the Flash Sale price, I get $12.5K If I select free Drinks/Wifi (on the same page), I get $9.8K I love MSC website (sarcastically) -- sometimes best not to try to understand and just book the best price (but you won't know unless you monitor it)
  16. Funny...I repriced my cruised for this coming Aug 20 from PC (4 people in a YCD) Flash Sale YC -- $12.5K Non-flash Sale YC (drinks wifi included or escape to sea option) -- $9.8K Sale price math is wayyyy off.
  17. I'm a bit confused -- am I right when reading... - you booked this yourself via website --> maybe it's only on Canadian websites, but I don't have the options to book two cabins at once on the MSC website, I would have to book one room, pay the deposit and then another. In any case, are you saying you booked an inside room for 4, at the end of the web booking it says one room and then you got another email saying you had two separate rooms? If that's the case, that's messed up and the rest of my questions are null and voided. - you called in and corrected the problem --> back to one cabin of 4? From what I am reading, it sounds like you accepted the split earlier on because your wife also received an upgrade bid, after winning your bid? Any ways -- solution one -- stay in your original booking and cancel the bid. Again, here I am confused because it sounds like you won your bid for one room and then your wife was asked ti bid for hers. And you assumed if you won for one cabin they would automatically the other cabin (and not sure if you are an avid cruiser on other lines that do the bidding system but that is never the case -- you have to bid for each cabin and if and when you win, unlikely but not impossible, the cabins may not be side by side, even on the same floor, side of ship, etc...) So many assumptions, could you clarify...
  18. OP did you book the cabin via website or through TA?
  19. there is no such thing as a sale -- just keep checking and sometimes (sometimes) the price is better... i find with MSC not point in hoping to get a deal, just pick the price you are comfortable with.
  20. Although these things don't happen to often but when it does -- early morning flights might be missed...
  21. Your vacation starts that much sooner...drink in hand!!!! Enjoy....
  22. There's no easy answer....if there is a will, there's a way... There should be some sort of consequence for their actions -- maybe a monetary amount charged to their state room, something in the amount of "I won't be doing that again".
  23. Congrats on the wedding! You are going to have a great time --especially in the YC. May I ask, how much was parking? And this was the Brooklyn terminal?
  24. I think these letters should be notarized, otherwise, I could just write a letter and sign it randomly... From RCCL (since I could not not find it on MSC other than a definition of minor and reason why) Adults who are not the parent or legal guardian of a minor traveling with them must present an original, notarized letter signed by the child's parent(s) authorizing the adult to take the child on the specific cruise, supervise the child, and allow emergency medical treatment to be administered, if needed. They have a sample form... https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-if-i-am-traveling-with-a-minor-and-i-am-not-their-parent-legal-guardian#:~:text=Adults who are not the,to be administered%2C if needed. MSC info about travelling with Minors... https://www.msccruises.com/en-gl/Minor-Policy.aspx I hope you bought trip cancellation insurance....
