  1. I'll stick to spam. For those of you under the age of 40, I am not talking about junk email.
  2. My great grandfather sent messages home that his captain was excellent. Talked to passengers individually, and kept them up to date with observations at sea. It's just a pity that Captain Smith didn't see the bloody iceberg leading to the demise of my great grandfather, and many other poor souls. Whoever the Captain is on my ship, I would just like him to steer thank you very much.
  3. Blimey, the way it's going they'll be charging for seats in the buffet next!
  4. Only on the P&O board. For operational purposes.
  5. Blimey, since 2010 I'm barely recognisable.
  6. You can drink as much as you like.
  7. It is not working on my iPhone or my iPad. apparently for operational reasons.
  8. I have not used Holiday Extras. I have used Staysure. Price didn't seem more expensive than previously to include cruise cover that fulfils P&O requirements for UK based travellers. This may or may not be the case for overseas passengers. You would need to check with them directly. The OP was looking to purchase a policy from an insurer based in the UK, which he cannot.
  9. From P&O uk website. Will I need travel insurance and how can I arrange this with Holiday Extras? UK Guests  Yes, it is mandatory for all UK guests to take out comprehensive cruise-specific travel insurance for their holiday with us. While we hope you never have to use it, the policy will ensure you’re able to relax and enjoy your holiday with the peace of mind that you’re protected, should you need it.  When travelling with us, your insurance must include medical and repatriation cover of £2 million minimum that includes cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to COVID-19. You must also ensure your policy includes cover for travel, cancellation and curtailment and full cover for any and all existing medical conditions worldwide, or as a minimum, in the countries you are due to visit.  Your travel insurance documents will be checked at the terminal and must cover the entire duration of your holiday. Unfortunately you will be denied boarding, at your own expense, if you don’t have appropriate cover. P&O Cruises has partnered with Holiday Extras to offer appropriate, comprehensive travel insurance cover for our holidays.  To find out more, visit www.holidayextras.com/pocruises or phone 0800 093 3070 and quote PAOHX -
  10. I believe since the outbreak of Covid, not all insurance companies in the UK cover cruising as standard on their policies. P&O UK insist that you have cruise specific policies, and you should be able to prove this, along with cover to include Covid 19 related illness. Now it does seem to be hit and miss as to how much scrutiny in viewing your onsurance documents at the port, but there have most definately been cases of passengers being denied boarding for not meeting this reauirement. I am talking of P&O ships departing from the UK, I do not know about from other countries.
  11. If you turn up in the UKat P&O without cruise specific insurance you will be denied boarding. I know the other posters are trying to help but this is not USA, and P&O are very clear on this. Tou also need a minimum of £2million mmedical cover, which must also include Covid19.
  12. Muzak, from experience, my wife is Malaysian, and prior to being a UK resident she could not take out a policy from a UK based insurance company. You can only obtain insurance from your Country of residence. I can only advise you to gather all the requirements that P&O insist on, and then make contact with insurers in Pakistan. If they will not cover you, then unfortunately, as is my understanding, then you won't get cover elsewhere. Best of luck.
  13. They can hold the silent disco without headphones.
  14. If Axa operate in your Country I would try them. Failing that, can you locate an Insurance broker who may assist?
  15. I'm not trying to book it, I am looking to see if previously available cabins near mine have been booked. They haven't.
  16. Yes, I can as well now. It must have been a blip when I first tried.

  18. I emailed them before I posted on here. Though I'm not holding my breath. I'll give it another 24 hours, then it's emails to the top brass, c.c. Rip Off Britain and Watchdog.
  19. Well just done a dummy booking for same grade as I paid final balance for yesterday. Price has gone up by £100, but now with £780 OBC per cabin. Having spoken to them yesterday, this absolutely stinks. For sure I am not going to dwell on it, and it won't ruin my cruise, but I won't be back with P&O again.
  20. You might when you find you have to wash the dishes.
  21. I have spoken to P&O this morning. It is final balance day for us today, and so I asked about extra OBC for our 2/10 sailing on Britannia. The customer service lady I spoke to emailed the relevant people, and the answer was that certain cruises have been selected for the additional OBC, but 2/10 on Britannia is most definatly not one of them. I don't know the reason, but was told the criteria won't change. Not the answer I was hoping for, but the lady I spoke to was very helpful and addressed a number of other concerns I had. I also spoke to MSC, as I had an option on a cabin with them. They seemed totally clueless in most queries I had. I have therefore decided to pay the final balance with P&O.
