  1. We will be in the Caribbean and it tends to be humid and on the warm side outside and the ships can gets little warm at times. I just bring a shawl to throw over my shoulders in case it happens to be cool in a spot.
  2. Go to the first page of this thread and click the file for the Splendor-see if anyone has reported in the suite or one nearby.
  3. If you have a key board that most of the time doesn’t type the n just a blank it helps😀
  4. I think it is too late now….thought it was About 2-3 weeks ahead. Maybe you TA can help.
  5. Love Ray as CD. We board the Navigator on the 22nd. It would be a great present if he was still on. But he probably goes home for Christmas!
  6. Glad you made aboard! That must have been an experience to say the least. Having been in that part of the world traveling by plane and train , I think you were very brave. Glad you made it to the ship. With back up on flights caused by the airport closure it must be an absolute mess for Regent. Would be interested on the number who make the sailing by tonight and if more will board in Chile. We did this segment on the.Mariner Circle SA a number of years ago. It is a great cruise. Enjoy your time aboard
  7. Georgia Peach, enjoying your report and the nice pictures. We will join the Splendor when she reaches Miami! So excited!!! Forgap thanks for the picture lesson. I managed to add pictures to another thread thanks to you. I will try to insert them in the post fron your instructions. We like to write a blog for our pleasure and to settle arguments on what we did m….that cone up later😂.
  8. So sorry to hear that about your flight problems. I did wonder if anyone would have problems due to the crash in Lima. I know you are disappointed.
  9. The front desk is not the source of port information…. Maybe that was the problem. Go to the Destinations Desk, but not when they are passing out the tour bus assignments as they are mostly all in the theater. Go early before the ship docks or the night before. I have never really had a problem getting port info and at times they have even had a local come aboard with maps etc for those not using the ship tours.
  10. Time changes have always happened at night. In the Canal, the middle of the ocean or from port to port the clocks are reset at night either ahead or back to match the time zone for the next day..
  11. All the classes maybe full. On our Dec cruise there none listed now but there were earlier as I booked one.
  12. Looking forward to your reports. We will be boarding as you get off in Miami. Loved your Christmas decorations. I will be decorating the suite this year as we will sailing over the Holiday….. first time since 1995! that I have not decorated the house!!! We were on the old (1st) Royal Princess with the family that year going through the Canal. Agree with you about Thanksgiving, a lot of for such a short time and the boys are watching football for most of the time! Have a safe flight over and a fun time on the ship! Looking forward to you report.
  13. No Amos, We are on Splendor on Dec 3 stopping at Aurba later in the cruise. Just checked the two tank drive and it is still available. There have never been many divers on any of our Regent cruises. I don’t think that will be a problem for you either. However, be warned that Aurba is a terrible dive unless you just like to breathe compressed air😂. There is usually a lot of wind that stirs the sea up so visibility is often poor. We have dove there three times and that was always the case so we passed the last time we were there and still diving. Wreck is ok. Cozumel, Virgin Is and Cayman are much better choices. But sometimes you have to go with what you have.
  14. We were there in 15 and 18 so a while. I found him on one of the popular travel websites. I may have seen him listed on the Bali Port of Call in cruise critic. There will be many Taxis lined up offering trips at the port. The problem with the ship tours were the big bus and they only did 1or2 sites. You really need to spend the whole day out to really see what Bali has to offer. If Regent offers a car/van for the day that might be well worth the cost. The sites are spread out but all beautiful and every interesting!!!! I will look for my contract.
  15. The wine tours in New Zealand on the WC were all good as were the wine/food related tours in Australia. The Sydney Opera House tour is good and the Great Ocean Road is worth it to see a beautiful part of Australia. It is a long bus ride but worth it. We also enjoy the HOHO bus tours for a go mod overview of the bigger cities to get an idea of where we want to go. Australia and New Zealand tour companies offer a good product usually, If the tour sounds good to you. Been to Bali twice once on Regent. Private tours are cheap and good there. We had a car and driver for a week the first time and used him again for the two days we were there with Regent. Much better deal as far as seeing the island than the ship tours! Read about the various tours and come back asking about ones of interest to you. Many of us have travel to that part of the would more than once and can give you some insight about a particular tour we have done.
  16. They never have a the big brunch with all the assorted food on a Changeover day. Not been on the two new ships(will be on the Splendor in Dec). The Mariner and The Navigator have a fabulous galley Brunch on a sea day on the longer segments(maybe 12 days or more?). It may have been on a Sunday but for sure it was on a sea day. We have had this fabulous food display and choice on both ships three or four times each, but they were segment s of 14 days or so. I am looking forward to maybe seeing what the new ship do as we will have several Sea day Sundays however the two segment themselves are not long.
  17. We have sailed on other ships that have the solid railing in aft suites but it does not bother us. The 180degree view side to side and straight back as opposed to just one side is well worth it. We will be in a aft suite in Dec. To each his own.
  18. Yes you can give special instructions. I send knits, cotton, polyester, nylon and other fabrics. In over 200 days have never had a problem. Comes back ready to wear beautifully done.
  19. Thanks to you all for the information. I now have the PDF for the WC24 tours in hand.
  20. +1 Totally agree. We have always sent everything out and it comes back perfectly ironed and folded or on hangers.
  21. Maybe everyone needs to read what is included in each loyalty level before they book and at least before they board. We turned both silver and then Gold on cruises a number of years ago. I think being silver gives you the extra logins and then turning gold gives a $100 per suite per segment which is plainly stated on the website,m. So is getting advanced to the next level when you board if you meet the number of days while on board. This is easily pointed out to staff if there is a problem and they will correct any over-sites. It is to your benefit to read the Regent information and be proactive when something is not right. Regent staff are not mind readers and mistakes happen. As far as the free laundry for everyone. This changed 4-5 years ago and there was some moaning about it had an earned benefit and that now it was good for all. Most complainers felt that the laundry would be so slow as not to be worth it. That has not been the case! The other complaint was it took away something earned. In reality these levels are gifts from Regent and they can and do change at Regent’s pleasure. At least the powers that be realized this and added the $100 per suite to gold and above and the actual benefit is still there for the gold and above so we lost nothing. If people don’t like the “Regent” way there are many other cruise lines out there take your business elsewhere. Personally we like most of the Regent way of doing things better than other lines and easily over look the little glitches. All cruise lines have them. Regent is just a little better at trying to make you happy than the others we have tried and when something is off we talk to the department. And our TA makes should we know what we are Intitled to on each cruise!
  22. Ok I just checked my Dec cruise. Go to manage this booking and click on custom tours, you should see a summary of all booked or waitlisted tours to date. This list updated fairly fast when I was doing my tours. If all else fails call you TA or Regent. They will do it for you. Good Luck
  23. If you are getting emails confirming the tour you are booked for that tour. In the booking section if you are doing one at a time the booked list will only show the one you are working on. somewhere in manage my bookings it will show all booked tours. I will look and see if I can find it. I don’t like the booking system. For some reason I always have problems working it. I nearly when crazy booking tour for our world cruise a few years ago.
