  1. NCL doesn't have sales on beverage or dining packages, or really anything beyond the cruise fare. The only disadvantage in waiting is that maybe the price will go up fleet-wide. Otherwise it will be the same price between now and when you board.
  2. Why is this thread still pinned? Priceline hasn't done bidding in years.
  3. The odds of two players winning the penny in back to back games is 400 to 1 (assuming they never take the Deal, of course.) So you definitely witnessed a rarity!
  4. 🙄 My condolences to anybody who tried helping and got this lecture for their efforts.
  5. This describes about 75% of Cruise Critic posters {and 90% of social media in general.)
  6. Q1: Coffee (but not Starbucks or specialty coffees), tea, iced tea, lemonade, some juices at breakfast (not freshly squeezed), and ice water (but not bottled water). Q2: Soda, non-alcoholic beer, virgin cocktails.
  7. I mean, the guy's username ends with JeRK.
  8. If true, then Rest In Peace to the twice-a-year "NCL would double its passenger count if they served Coke instead of Pepsi" threads.
  9. Maybe give it more than 12 hours before reposting?
  10. Imagine coming back to Cruise Critic after two years just to complain about the creme brulee.
  11. Not necessarily true. Let's say I have an inside room and I bid $300 on a balcony. Someone with an ocean view bids $200. I bid higher, so I win, right? But what if another inside bids $150 on an ocean view? NCL makes $350 by upgrading both those other bids versus $300 by accepting mine. So they both win even though both bids are lower than mine. Obviously the bigger you bid the better your odds, but there's more to consider than just taking the top bid.
  12. Can you do a screenshot shot showing where this dropdown menu is? I can't seem to find it.
  13. "Maintaining a high percentage of fully vaccinated guests" implies they will be capping the number of unvaccinated guests. So I guess there will be a check box added when you make your reservations?
  14. In four cruises, I've eaten at the buffet once. I just don't get why you'd choose a buffet over a sit-down restaurant when both are free and both are all you can eat.
  15. This is exactly what happened at my call centre. Management thought that by moving everything online, people would be able to find their answers easily. Instead, it just became easier for people to find our contact information. LOL. Our call volume tripled over five years.
  16. Quite the opposite. Companies would divert all their customer traffic from the phones to online if they could, as it's much cheaper (after the initial costs).
  17. As someone who worked in a call centre for eight years, I can tell you that Monday is always the busiest day of the week. Unless absolutely necessary, I never call earlier than Wednesday. Basically, once the lines are backed up, it will never get better the rest of the day, because every call thereafter will start with "Do you know how long I've been waiting?" Which just means more time spent not dealing with the reason they called.
  18. Totally agree. Just because it's not for everyone doesn't mean it's a money-grabbing scam.
  19. I rebooked my November cruise this morning and saved $90 for the identical cabin and perks. But someone else in another forum for that cruise said her price went up $300. 🤷‍♀️
  20. There are five big advantages with Vibe versus sitting poolside: * No children or teenagers * No chair hogs * No loud music or poolside activities * (Usually) No wait for the hot tub * (Usually) No wait at the bar Whether that's worth $209 a week extra is obviously subject to opinion. For $40 more you can buy a spa pass that has four of those things (no bar) and isn't affected by the rain or cold.
  21. I haven't been able to find any pictures or descriptions of the Joy Vibe cabanas. Can you provide any details about how large they are, where they're located in Vibe, or anything else I should know? Does the price still include a $100 food and beverage credit? Thanks in advance.
  22. I'm on the 11-night Eclipse cruise right after you (going to Hawaii) and while the 3 and 4 night options are gone, 5-10 nights are all still available. To be honest, I don't remember if there was an 11-night package.
  23. I'm kind of hoping we won't need wristbands anymore if it's printed on the card.
  24. Yes, yelling and refusing to leave will solve the supply shortages. Also, insist on speaking directly with the manager or else you're going right to the media!
  25. This afternoon I upgraded our November cruise (pre-final payment) from balcony to club balcony and the 2 CND were still applied. Even with the upgrade we still save about $60 from when we originally booked in 2021. Over the phone it sounded like the process was identical to when we've rebooked in the past. But definitely remind them to ensure both deposits are applied.
