  1. It does say June 5, but I am sailing on the Summit on June 4 and I am seeing those Flash Sale prices in my cruise planner.
  2. It's worth it compared to the prices at other venues that offer Le Petit Chef. You can see them at lepetitchef.com : CAD$165 in Vancouver or £119 in London versus USD$65 on Celebrity. It does appear the land restaurants are 5 courses versus 4 on Celebrity, but it's still significantly cheaper.
  3. On our Eclipse cruise in September we asked our steward for footrests. What we ended up getting was two accessibility shower seats. But you know what, they did the trick.
  4. From https://urcomped.com/home/faq An Active player or House Customer is somebody that HAS sailed on a cruise line in the last 12 months (period of time depends on the cruise line). URComped can NOT book an Active Player or House Customer, because that player is not NEW to our Cruise line partner. The Cruise line already has a relationship with that player (House Customer). Players that are Active / House Customers will have to keep booking direct, until the 12-month window expires (period of time depends on the cruise line).
  5. Claiming the deal doesn't finalize anything. Your URComped agent will submit the request to Celebrity and then email you with the offer. For my first cruise, I asked about an 11-night Vancouver to Hawaii cruise, with a gambling budget of $2,400. I got a balcony for only port fees and taxes! Cruise-only rate, so no wifi or drinks, but for $170 each we figured we could afford to pay for them on their own. Once you've cruised with the line, you can't book another deal with Celebrity through URComped for one year, but you should start getting offers from the Blue Chip Club. You can also try another line through URComped, including Royal Caribbean. Even though they and Celebrity are in the same company, the casino departments are completely separate.
  6. The trend had pretty already died off a couple of months after Celebrity's foray. It was always a Greater Fool idea like tulip bulbs or beanie babies.
  7. I haven't had the nearly the number of cruises as Happy Cruiser, but like her, Vancouver was by far the worst experience. We got put in one line, then another, then back to the first, then back to the second until finally my wife found a supervisor who straightened things out... and then another employee tried to move us to a third line! Just utter chaos.
  8. On our Vancouver to Hawaii Celebrity Eclipse cruise last September, the ESPN International feed had the Sunday night and a Wednesday night game.
  9. Wouldn't stop some vloggers from making a 10 minute YouTube video. ("The Five Things You MUST Do Before Booking A Specialty Restaurant!")
  10. I wouldn't say avoid the orange, as with their size they are still better than a regular balcony, but they would be the third choice after green and blue.
  11. It's a travel agency that offers cruise and casino hotel discounts to gamblers. Celebrity is just one of the cruise lines they work with.
  12. The same reason you don't use your toaster in the bathtub.
  13. You seriously revived a thread that was dead for 18 months to tell us that comps is based on play?
  14. We were on this same cruise and my wife and I noted this was our first cruise where we never saw the Cruise Director. And we also had trouble with Guest Services that we ended up working around rather than being properly resolved.
  15. As a Vibe user, I like having both sides of the ship available either to find shade or to admire the view. I can understand why non-users don't like the change, but then again that half of the deck was rarely used by the public, at least when we were on the Breakaway five years ago. It may have been different on the other ships where there was a hot tub.
  16. Yeah, I should have known the usual gang would concentrate on IT IsNt ReaLLy FrEE and reignite that debate. But that's why 16 of the previous posts prior to yours at 24 were blocked thanks to using CC's ignored users. And I am certain I'm not missing a thing.
  17. Yesterday was our fifth and likely final cruise with NCL, as their Casino At Sea program has ghosted us and we've started receiving much better offers from Celebrity. We have mixed feelings about this, as Norwegian was our exclusive cruise experience since 2015, until earlier this year and our first Celebrity cruise. What we'll miss about NCL: 1) The Vibe. A great sanctuary for adults with no worries about finding a chair, towel exchanges, waiting for a drink or kids peeing in the hot tub. 2) Free at Sea Ultimate Beverage Package. $20/day for access to most of the drinks on the ship is a bargain. 3) Specialty Dining. Reasonably priced when you get it as a package, and dining out just elevates the evening. I'm especially going to miss you, four-mushroom soup at Le Bistro. What I Will Not Miss 1) Elevators. The forward bank of 8 elevators with 2 separate operating systems is ridiculous. Rides stop on every floor because people (understandably) press the button for both systems. NCL should convert to destination dispatch elevators. 2) Noise. The public areas are loud whether it's a restaurant, casino or atrium. Partly acoustics, partly unlimited alcohol. 3) The Cruise Critic NCL Board. So many pointless arguments from the same people. I've learned if someone has more than 10,000 posts, it's pretty safe to add them to the ignored user list because despite their volume of work, almost none of it is helpful.
  18. You certainly used to be able to, but I'm sailing on Saturday and there has not been a bar set-up option offered on the app or for purchase online.
  19. I was on the same cruise as Broker and can confirm the grilled chicken in the buffet looked dry and overcooked, and the grilled fish was indeed presented as unidentified fish. I can't confirm the bologna or sandwiches as I don't seek those out, but there was ham and salami offered as cold cuts at most lunches, and I think mortadella at least once. For us, the lunch buffet met our expectations as first-time Celebrity cruisers, with a solid variety of food and almost no line-ups (it's not Celebrity's fault the woman ahead of me at the ice cream stand ordered seven bowls!). But yes, if you were only looking for a simple protein, the grilled selection looked poor and the carvery wasn't great either time I tried it. The other service complaint would be that 2 of the 4 beverage dispensers were out of order all 11 days. The MDR was more of a disappointment for us in the "lacking sparkle" way rather than being bad. But as I stated before, maybe we just had our expectations set too high.
  20. Service does seem to be an issue since passenger counts have increased, and I wonder if that lessened "sparkle" is due to oft-mentioned labour shortage. It's a trade off. If people are going to want the cruise service of the past, they're not going to get it for the same price it was back then. Getting and keeping good people in costing more than ever before.
  21. This was also our first Celebrity cruise, after 4 NCL cruises. Agree that the crew was wonderful but clearly understaffed. We liked the buffet for lunch (wife raved about the nachos, I always went for the sauteed veggies), was fine for breakfast but preferred room service. MDR was disappointing, as food temperature was an issue the entire cruise. And maitre D' was still seating people at a snail's pace 11 days in. Long lines every day, in port or not. Drink service often got confused as to who ordered what at which table, or whether the sommelier had already come by. We did love the solarium, much more peaceful than poolside. My dad loved the Sky Lounge. My wife thought the Ensemble Lounge was far too dark and called it the Tunnel of Doom. No issue with the room. Our steward Frederik was a rock star, providing a splitter for our two CPAP machines so it only used one plug. He was on top of everything. I was on the cruise through a casino junket, so no drink package except for free drinks at the casino. I was there six days and cycled $21,000 through the slots... I was offered a drink once. Overall we just wondered if we expected too much from Celebrity. We thought it would be a step up from NCL and if it was, it was just barely. We are willing to try again, but will likely not try a repositioning cruise to see if most of the issues would be resolved with an experienced crew.
  22. But... why? What do you get at Sapphire that's worth $12,500? A "free" cruise that you could buy for half the price? For a gambler, it's a perk that keeps them coming back because maybe they'll hit that big score and come out ahead. But your plan sees literally no chance of winning. Hundreds of spins where the best you can do is break even.
  23. 🙄 Don't 👂 to the 🦀. Your review is 🔥.
  24. I lived 140 km away in Woodstock, and I think @Norwayladysaw more of Toronto in four days than I saw in 26 years. 😋
