  1. We sailed wonder 3-10 December last year, it was fine. The last day was windy and rainy but wasn’t too rocky at all.
  2. Was also there last year on wonder with either odyssey or ovation (can’t remember which). Got off early (around 8.30/9) as other half had jet skis at 9.30. Only one on the beach at that time! Stayed in chill beach until lunch time, did get busy around me but was fine. No long lines for food at the snack shack at lunch. Did have to wait a little until we could see space in the swim up bar in the ocean, but got a space. Went to the cove and very few people there.
  3. I know for a fact a UK insurance company won’t cover you - I worked for an insurance company. I don’t know what RC would do, and haven’t asked them because I don’t need to know, it doesn’t personally impact me. satisfied now?
  4. My other half has just spotted you in Sydney and the official photographers waiting to take photos 😊
  5. No because I don’t plan on going there any time soon!
  6. It doesn’t say, it just says when it was last updated
  7. What do you call an advisory though? In the U.K. it’s only excluded if it specifically says don’t travel to it. The only time it has said not to travel to the US that I’m aware of was during Covid.
  8. UK policies will not cover you to visit any country that the foreign office has advised against travelling to. Whether you think it’s poor or not, it will affect all U.K. based cruisers and is standard practice here. I would not be surprised if RC made some kind of allowance for this based on the significant number of Brits who sail with them - they are likely to be aware of it.
  9. All I asked was if RC had acknowledged the situation as it stands. I didn’t present any scenarios or scaremongering.
  10. It’s not a question of a “poor travel insurance policy”. No UK travel insurance will cover you and UK citizens would not be able to buy a US policy.
  11. No because the current cruises were booked ages ago and people don’t have a huge choice now. And for future cruises already booked I’ve seen lots of comments saying people will wait and see what the situation is nearer the time. It will be a while before any impact will be seen on bookings. I’m not saying they should or shouldn’t cancel ( I have no skin in the game, I have no cruise to Labadee), but I think it’s foolish to just write it off as nothing and say there’s nothing going on.
  12. The word is affect, not effect 😉 my point is it IS a matter of concern for some cruisers and has either been asked or brought up at captains corner. Therefore there is an impact. But you clearly have an opinion that probably won’t be swayed regardless of what happens…..
  13. But clearly it was raised at the event or they wouldn’t have mentioned they are still Stopping there, so it does affect cruising!
  14. Yeah everything is just fine 😂 I’m not specifically talking about Labadee but Haiti in general. They I be hourly acknowledged something is going on or it wouldn’t have come up at all!
  15. Have done breakfast at Johnny rockets on both oasis and wonder, probably around 9am, and didn’t have to queue
  16. Did they say anything about the situation in Haiti?
  17. Didn’t Michael Bayley say that hideaway bay adds about 3-4000 capacity? So enough for a 3rd ship (not 3 oasis class though).
  18. Yes it is, they tendered last year and used the sports jetty (where the jet skied etc go from) to drop off/ pick up. I know someone who was there that day.
  19. I don’t believe RC are consistent enough to say they “usually” show at a certain date 😂 saying that, my understanding is that they should show the first day of the month before you sail, so 1st March for you. It’s always been there or thereabouts for us.
  20. So we sailed on wonder from 3-10 December. No long waits for MTD, we had reserved times, usually turned up about 10 mins early and waited around 5 mins at most. Also saw no long lines for those without reservations, and the lines there were moved quite quickly.
  21. Last cruise was oasis in November 2022. Longest wait with reservations was 10mins on lobster night, other nights no more than 5 mins. The lines without reservations was moving steadily. Will report back after this weeks cruise on wonder whether it is any better/ worse.
  22. Not on my last cruise on oasis, no massive lines and what was there moved quickly. Will see what it’s like on my upcoming wonder cruise this Sunday. not that it matters to us - we have reserved MTD for 7/7.30 every night which is our preferred time to eat
  23. You don’t have to have a reservation, you can just get in the no reservation line around the time (or before) the time You prefer to eat
  24. Depends on the sailing - the Black Friday deal for my wonder sailing was ÂŁ60
