  1. Which terminal is Freedom currently using in Miami? Seems like they are in Miami either alone or with Independence. I know if an Oasis class ship is in that uses A.
  2. Check in generally at midnight of the ship location. So if ship is in Miami or FLL it is midnight Eastern time. Might take a few minutes for the process to open - try refreshing the page. Same for app - it might be before or after the web site.
  3. All this means is that you can't sell/give the booking to somebody else. Has no effect on having the cruise line put a different person on the booking. Generally cruise lines let you change passenger names up until around 5 days before the cruise, as long as one passenger from the original booking remains on the booking. And unless that person was used for a casino booking rate or something similar they really don't care if that person shows up or not.
  4. There is a spot on the checkout page where you can use OBC, but you have to manually add the amount you want to use. Otherwise the default is to charge the entire bill to a credit card. Normally I catch this before committing to the purchase but have missed it a few times.
  5. Back around 2004-5 several cruise lines offered the option to stay onboard and lines like Princess allowed guest access for a few hours. A few years later US Immigration implemented the policy that a ship had to be zeroed before the next cruise could board. So current policy is that they can't board the new passengers in the US until all the old ones are off. This also includes crew that are ending or beginning their contracts.
  6. With bookings through the ship you will get tickets in your room when to arrive. ALWAYS check these. Sometimes they cancel a tour and they may change the tour time even if the ship isn't docking at a different time than advertised. We have had morning tours changed to afternoon with the only notice being the printed ticket (and the tour was still the "A" time slot).
  7. Summary - you can switch one of the grandparents for a new person now and then when you sail the second grandparent doesn't show up. Celebrity (and most any cruise line) won't let you switch all people in a cabin. People don't show up for many reasons - airlines, sick, ... You have already paid for the room so Celebrity doesn't care. If cabin holds 3 you MIGHT be able to book two new people into it and leave one grandparent to noshow. Problem with this is that they might reprice the whole room to add a third person. You could ask if you could add a third person to either of your cabins. Since you booked through a TA, they must be the one to make the changes.
  8. Anything you buy from the ship or are gifted from the cruise line can be taken into the dining room. But our experience is that they rarely charge a corkage fee.
  9. Some excursion operators have a list of names provided by the ship and they check you off as you check in. But when this is done they match the ticket to the list, not any id. And they use their list when people don't show up to try to locate the missing people.
  10. Our TA told us that she couldn't book this until January. She thinks the space available depends on sales of land/sea packages. We booked direct partly to get in earlier than cruise line charter. Train from Anchorage to Seward (Coastal Classic) has only been open for booking since November 2. This train leaves Anchorage at 6:45am and gets into Seward before noon. Both Adventure Class and Goldstar are available for most of the summer. Note that this goes into the main station in Seward while the cruise line train ends on the dock next to where you check in. https://www.alaskarailroad.com/ride-a-train/buy-tickets/search?trip=AA
  11. Yup, since they went to Starlink they seem to have dropped all the drinks+internet and the two speeds of internet.
  12. On current sailing Giovanni's Kitchen is only open on day 7 for lunch. So on the app do this: 1. open app 2. select right (small person) symbol 3. select a different cruise 4. app lists your cruises. at bottom of list select "Let's add it now" 5. select browse our ships 6. select Wonder of the Seas 7. select first sailing on list (current sailing) 8. on middle (planner) page, select Dining link at bottom of page 9. select Restaurants tab 10. select Giovanni's Kitchen 11. select menu 12. scroll right to day 7 and you will see options for Lunch and Dinner 13. select lunch and you will see the menu Not sure I see any difference from dinner menu except wines but haven't been there.
  13. Typically $8-12 for hotel shuttle to port from airport area. Hotels don't actually run these - they just arrange the transfer.
  14. We have booked Celebrity onboard a Royal ship with the same $100 deposit but haven't tried getting an open booking certificate where the Celebrity cruise isn't identified. The onboard agent did have to contact Celebrity to reduce the deposit so my guess is they could do the same to issue an open certificate on the other line.
  15. Son onboard said late boarding was due to extended cleaning for Noro on previous cruise. But he didn't know why they were so late sailing last night.
  16. OP is a citizen by definition (US parents) but not sure how one would get a document proving that, other than a passport. Military kids born out of country can have the same problem. Technically a Real ID should prove citizenship but will the port folks recognize this?
  17. The Ocean World facility is around 20 minutes from the port and has a lot of shows, a small snorkeling tank with fish and beaches. Was pretty hot when we there so we didn't use the beach but it was extensive, with lots of umbrellas and loungers. The avian exhibit allows you to feed the birds (tip expected but not required). Recommend a hat since they WILL land on your head. Would highly recommend it for grandkids. Labadee has calm and shaded beaches to the right and a more open beach ahead and slightly left. About a 15 minute walk from the ship or you can take the free tram. Lots of free loungers (although locals will try to set one up for you for a tip). Standard lunch buffet typical beach BBQ. Really no worthwhile snorkeling there. Extra cost excursions include an inflated water park and a toboggan like slide. You don't have to spend anything there. Slides on the ship are always free, subject to height limits.
  18. Note that OP is in Australia. In the US there are two kinds of bookings, refundable and non-refundable. Assuming you are before your final payment date, a refundable deposit would be returned when you cancelled the room for any reason. Non-refundable would not. Once you hit the final payment date and have fully paid then any cruise is non-refundable, the penalty for cancelling increases up to the full amount of the cruise. In the past some folks have been able to move the deposit to a different cruise. I don't know the rules for Australia. Contact whoever you booked your cruise. If booked with a refundable deposit you should get your money back (prior to the final payment date). If non-refundable, ask them to move the deposit to another cruise - and it doesn't have to be a similar cruise. If this doesn't work the next option is to file with your insurance company for the loss (assuming you have insurance).
  19. Exception is if OBC is used. This reappears in your account immediately after cancelling (refresh page). Our experience with credit card is normally around a week for the first purchase to refund.
  20. If one of the four people on line tries to log a fifth device in then someone will get kicked off and you can't predict who. So this requires that the person using the new device log themselves off before logging on the new device. Some people who need two devices will buy the four device package and sell the extra two to someone else on their roll call. As long as everyone only uses their slot and doesn't try to log in a fifth device it works.
  21. Typically 6/5. Sometimes better if you bet $1 or more. And bonus poker doesn't pay double for two pair. And different machines can pay differently. I have seen double double pay either 4000 or 3500 for a royal on a 5 coin bet. Most quarter machines these days want you to play 10 coins.
  22. Could be similar to what we found out on Symphony, with a donut shop and a buffet. Our assistant waiter worked in the donut shop area and told us they made the donuts for the buffet all through the night and the ones for the local shop last. When we went there he would go in the back room and bring out fresh hot donuts for us even when there were some in the display area. Buffet needs large quantities and it takes a while to produce and deliver them.
  23. Older ships still have cruise cards you can punch holes in. And replacing that system would cost a fortune.
  24. Just remember that a single device means one device at a time. Unless you are both on at the same time you may be able to buy just a one-device package and share the login.
