  1. OP has a two device package, so no kicking off the device. My guess is that the first device will be higher speed, but not sure they can even control which is which. Potentially logging off first device would make high speed connection available to third device. Would not surprise me if both devices will get the upgraded internet unless they give you two different logins.
  2. As far as I know United cards have always only given you free bags if booked through United. Some airlines tie free bags to your airline account or allow any purchase (like a seat upgrade) to trigger free bags. From United: Benefit Overview Don’t worry about overhead space anymore. Check your bag for free and save up to $140 roundtrip. The primary Cardmember and one companion traveling on the same reservation will each receive their first standard checked bag free - calculated as a $35 value for the first checked bag, each way, per person - on United-operated flights when purchasing tickets with their United Explorer Card.
  3. Supposedly the ArriveCan is linked to your passport, so when they bring up your passport going into Canada they can see that you filled it out. Second (ship) entry I believe covers the sail and return to Vancouver. As indicated above, leaving the country by ship shouldn't matter. I believe they are looking at the re-entry for entry by ship. We have a slightly different problem. Fly in. Sail up one way. Then sail back. I THINK we need to do the ArriveCan for the second return trip within 72 hours of boarding the ship in Seward to sail back. But also possible it needs to be done while on the second cruise. Not a big issue - they will tell us on the ship when we do the B2B meeting.
  4. According to the current docking schedule you will be docking at the farthest south pier AJ, about a mile from the tram: https://claalaska.com/?page_id=1551 You really don't know when you will actually dock, nor when they will allow you off the ship. Typically there is a shuttle from AJ to the tram. Assuming you are actually allowed off the ship at 1 and you are one of the first people off, you can probably walk fast and be there by 1:30. Tour operators often will either adjust their schedules or arrange for pickup at the dock. Really depends on how many customers are on your ship versus others that are closer. You need to discuss this with them.
  5. We often fly into Seattle, rent a car and drive to Vancouver. However we don't do it on the sail day. Not sure how close rental cars are to the Seattle pier but should be some with pickup there. Pier is north side of Seattle so shorter to Vancouver than what we do. Avis didn't have a dropoff charge going north and is about 5 blocks up Robson from the pier in the Fairmont sublevel 7. Going south there was a $100 dropoff so we take a bus.
  6. And they may never do it. You will still need to show cards at the pier.
  7. I leave my non-prescription sunglasses with my flip-flops at the bottom of the slide. It is GREAT not needing glasses after 50 years of wearing them. Cataract surgery should have been done 10 years earlier when first appeared..
  8. Also there in April. Most people don't go all the way back in Windjammer. And they don't know about the scooped ice cream station back there either.
  9. Simple search on Royal website brings up this: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/does-royal-caribbean-offer-luggage-valet As far as I know they have never offered this in Boston.
  10. Mostly MTD has a single deck as the checkin point. Last cruises the lines were long (especially for those without reservations trying to get in when the dining room opened). The hosts were asking people in line if they wanted to eat on a different deck immediately and were taking them there. Dining room doors were closed by then, so doubt that showing up on the other deck(s) would have worked.
  11. Our granddaughters love to dress up. Usually much better dressed than I am. May take tux this time so I don't feel like a slob. Many kids just wear t shirts and shorts.
  12. This company does proctoring of your test for $20US. They want US FDA approved tests but my guess is that anything Canada sent out should be ok. They also sell tests, so if yours aren't acceptable you could buy them. Would think any test you bought at Canadian pharmacy would also be ok. Note that you do need to set up an appointment for each person. https://rapidtestandtrace.com/product/observed-test-for-travel/
  13. What shows on an email doesn't matter. Anyone can go to the web site and check what is available for their reservation. While it might tell you that bids don't open until 30 days prior we have put in bids 4-5 months out. Varies by ship and sailing. Prices will also vary depending on what category your current stateroom is. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade
  14. Currently you still need a set-sail pass to get in the terminal building and that needs a boarding time. Not sure if you can get a set-sail pass without doing online checkin. Does it appear automatically at 45 days with a default (or no) boarding time? Our experience with terminal checkin is that they photograph passport, covid shot form and covid test results even when they were uploaded in advance.
  15. B2B in April required a covid test last morning, so we had to let Guest Services and covid reservation know. Right after that folks here started reporting that no covid test needed for 2nd cruise. You will need to know the meeting location for B2B folks (assuming cruise is in US) for the walk-off/walk-on. Steward is generally informed day before turnaround so he/she can give you the form.
  16. We have used blow up noodles four times since August. Never seen a mattress or large float though. Only one spot in the pool over chest deep.
  17. Typically a cell phone connects to the strongest tower, which will be the ship. Unlikely you will be within visual distance of shore once you get beyond the bridge.
  18. Yup. When you create the internet account it will actually default to "stream" and you will owe around $7. Had to click on a different button to get "surf" package. Same happened last time with D+, and a bit irritating that the credit doesn't quite pay for two days.
  19. Normally your cruise line will have a form for you to fill out to sign up. This allows you to pay airline fees with your cruise account if needed or bypass them when not.
  20. Interesting - I don't see any tests on Amazon that are being sold with the proctor option. Although you could use these with the test and trace company that does any test.
  21. Equinox has fewer entertainment options than Symphony. More music options and less things like pool games. Food is better (although we ate in Luminae). Senior staff on Equinox is often around the ship socializing with passengers. Spent 11nights on Equinox last fall and 5 weeks on Symphony since August.
  22. The problem with comparing this to internet cost is that key cost includes buying internet for ALL passengers in cabin over 6 years old. We buy a single one-device surf package and share it. MUCH cheaper than separate stream purchases for both of us.
