  1. Odyssey has them in the orange sphere next to the flowrider. No longer used for bungee VR.
  2. Our preferred spot is the bar area above the solarium. Usually a couple of rows up there. Only works on ships that don't have a restaurant above the Solarium Bistro. Depending on ship direction and if you like more noise and wind, the deck above the pool may have some shade for part of the day. Running track may be shaded on one side, although depending of direction that can be the smoking area..
  3. Since the only alcohol they can sell must have Texas tax stamps, my guess is that they didn't want to deplete the onboard stock after leaving Texas waters.
  4. In Alaska you can also check out Pendleton-style blankets for use on the ship. Same as towels - they must be returned at the end of the cruise. We haven't tried the purchased ones yet since we really don't want to mess with adding them to luggage for flights.
  5. Cruise excursions are booked with the Cruise Planner, and it knows what age you are at the time of the sailing. It won't allow booking anyone that is in violation of the age limits. Have seen a couple of times where an age limit existed that disappeared later (after I had booked an excursion with independent providers).
  6. You can also try the trick of editing your C&A or Captains Club account number and resaving. Might resync the systems.
  7. On the Odyssey TA this wasn't exactly the trash, but this sculpture is around 15' off the floor in the aft elevator. A lot of them disappeared about 2/3 through the cruise - not sure how they got them down.
  8. Just back from Odyssey. No indoor pool (small 3' deep ones in Solarium). iFly and Northstar are free in port (get reservations once onboard in the app). Both cost while sailing for longer experience. In our case both were cheaper once you got onboard than booking in advance. iFly in advance was was $34-$50, onboard was $24. Staff great and Windjammer pretty good food. Had one day with four kinds of carved meat at lunch. Seating often available far aft when front parts are full. Also, hot oatmeal/raisin and coconut cookies at front of Windjammer next to the hard serve ice cream.
  9. Yup but interesting that onboard ifly is 24 and Northstar 19, both cheaper than all sale prices in the Cruise Planner.
  10. Good point. Just because offer is for an inside you can upgrade to higher cabin or combine offers from two people. Have to call - not possible with link.
  11. Problem with goport is their pickups are some airport hotels and airport. We rented car for days in Orlando and used Gosport after turning car in. You can also rent car and drop off near Port and reserve Gosport for trip back to airport if you want to avoid pickup hassle at cape when ship returns. See the Orlando board for lots of advice.
  12. Actually got it for this cruise. Even following link from notification I haven't gotten to the questions for last six cruises.
  13. Or switch to a different cruise and back. Reloads whatever is currently available for that cruise.
  14. Easiest solution to that is use an old phone with no sim card in it. As long as phone doesn't use esims.
  15. It's the people yelling down the halls, not the elevator itself.
  16. Last year and a half we see maybe 30 people on a ship with masks. Twelve cruises on Royal, Celebrity and Princess. Similar to what we see in local grocery.
  17. Used to see drinks plus voom and soda plus voom. Sometimes more expensive than separate price. Since they went to new satellite system about a year ago (with only one speed internet) haven't seen packages.
  18. Just note when you go that Atlantis is cash free and they want a photo ID to use a credit card for food.
  19. Odyssey dropped off a crew member in Bermuda at 7 pm, then had to turn around and drop off a passenger at around 7 am.
  20. Ocean World. Dolphin show and experience, shark demo, beach, snorkeling in tank, great bird house where you can feed them. Pretty good park food. We would go again.
  21. Tried to book an onboard Northstar experience and kept getting an "oops, something went wrong" message when adding it to the shopping cart. Asked at help desk and after checking my internet connection, stopping and restarting app, and logging in again he looked and said there was only one space and I was trying to book two. So if you see the Oops, try booking for one person. Don't visit the help desk.
  22. Normal port all aboard is 30 minutes before departure. Tender ports may be 45 to an hour. Initial departure port in US is generally 90 minutes (depends on when they submit final manifest). Times can change even from the time posted at the gangway. If weather is coming in ships leave early. Rare, but they have even left ship excursions.
  23. United normally does participate in EZCheck and it would be great for you. The Fort Lauderdale airport won't let you check bags until 4 hours before your flight, so when EZCheck isn't working I have to store bags ($10 each, and they search them) a half level down from right end of the ticketing desks. Then we go in to the United lounge until I can check luggage in. I leave the lounge, get the baggage tags, get the bags, drop them off and reenter security. Have had two cruises recently where the luggage handling wasn't available, but we ALWAYS use it if it is. Ask at Guest Services early in the cruise for the form. If it isn't available, you might want to rent a car for the day. Avis and Budget are just across 17th from the north port entrance, within walking distance if your ship is at the usual terminal. When you make your reservation specify airport dropoff. No dropoff charges in Florida.
  24. On Sky last year think steak was only a few days (filet for upcharge) but many meals had a decent beef cut, like medallions. But many nights we wandered up to the buffet for desserts and they were cooking steak to order up there. And they looked much better that those in the dining room.
  25. Also check AlaskaShoreTours. Lots of offerings in many ports and we have used them many times. DyeaDave also great in Skagway (and they can book car/train combinations into Canada).
