  1. I got the same email. It doesn't change anything for us so I didn't really notice the age change. But, this part isn't worded very well: "Unvaccinated guests aged 12 and older must present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 3 days of our sail date. Fully vaccinated guests and guests ages 11 and younger are exempt from this test." What about unvaccinated under 12? It kind of ignores that specific group, although obviously they have to be tested. The wording could be a lot better.
  2. They no longer do the wellness check 24 hours prior to the cruise. Otherwise, all they do is confirm your answers to the questions you answered at online check in.
  3. I think you'll have to let us know because no one here can answer for sure.
  4. Lots of swimsuits so I'm betting sitting at the pool bar in port before they had that "oh s**t" moment.
  5. No, why would they be? We've only really ever seen them in Cozumel and Nassau and not every cruise. We've been to Aruba and Curacao a couple of times and don't remember anyone being late in those ports. Ports like Cozumel and Nassau have bars just close enough to the ship which is why it happens in those ports a lot.
  6. Except for the fact that we've cruised out of PC around 10 times in 17 years and have yet to see a launch. We'll be cruising out on 13 Nov for the second leg of our b2b on Jewel and it was announced today that Artemis is scheduled to launch on 14 Nov, window opens at 1207 am so DH and I plan to stay up as we head towards Nassau and find a place to watch outside (possibly our balcony as we're port side so we'll make a game day decision on that based on our heading). It won't be as close as in PC, but we'll be able to see it.
  7. For ease, Baltimore hands down. It is literally right off I-95 and is easy in, easy out. For actual sail out? I'd say whichever port I'm in because that means we are onboard and going somewhere.
  8. I'm about a 45 min to an hour drive from any base (Quantico, Ft Belvoir. Andrews). DH is retired Navy. I haven't shopped on base in years and now with the cost of fuel, it's just not worth any savings. I had to get my ID renewed in mid 2021 and getting an appointment was a pain. Ft Belvoir had none available so we drove to Ft Myer. Other locations just were only doing them only for anyone stationed there. There's been reports of going to online. They weren't happy that I was about 35 days out instead of the 30 they wanted. Too bad, appointments were hard to find so they did mine anyway.
  9. I remember wine in gallon jugs. The red was always called Burgundy. My parents were part of a book club when I was in my teens and early 20's and they used to have it at their "meetings" Google says Burgundy wine is just Pinot Noir.
  10. I really like Black Box Pinot Grigio. Burgundy is the area in France, not a grape variety. Red variety mostly made there is Pinot Noir and white is Chardonnay.
  11. I check both my husband and myself in. I'm 62 and I laugh everytime at that question. But, I triple check the answers before I submit.
  12. On Harmony last fall, we had to make reservations but as D+ we got into the theater 15 min before everyone else was allowed in (also has reservations). We rarely use any reserved seating as it's not always a place we prefer to sit.
  13. We've only been to the downtown location once. We've been to the Carnival pier location at least 5 times. You get a nice view of the water and ships. It's an easy walk over there.
  14. I'll have to look, but we don't have a Publix and I rarely go to Walmart. I've been the family holiday pie baker for 30+ years. So, usually make 3 or 4 pies for 25 people at Christmas and Thanksgiving.
  15. I remember reading it was built to accommodate 12,000 people, or two Oasis class ships. We were there on Harmony with Independence one time. On Harmony one time alone and on EN with another ship (can't remember which one). All since restart so not full but it never felt that crazy busy. Busiest was on EN and another ship over spring break. EN was 100% capacity so I assume the other ship was too. Get off early and grab the seat you want. The pool gets crowded. Beaches not so bad. We usually hang by the pool so we get off early, grab a shady spot, stay through lunch and then head back on the ship.
  16. LOL. I didn't realize McDonald's was an exotic tropical restaurant.
  17. Best blueberry pie we had on our NE/Canada cruise in 2018 was in Bar Harbor. One of our cancelled cruises during the pandemic was going to NE and that's what I wanted the most. We're going back next Oct on the 10 night CL to Quebec and the 10 night return so I plan to have several slices.
  18. Okay. I'm just reporting what she posted the day it happened. It was pre-Covid. Telling me that others have done it, doesn't change her experience. As I said, we've never brought food back onboard so no experience.
  19. Believe me, I know. Cozumel can be eye opening. There's always a trashcan full of fruit that people have tried to carry off but the dogs catch.
  20. Well, she was not happy. She had bought 6 to eat over several days. Not the first time that policies differ from ship to ship. We love Holy Donuts but we buy one and eat it right then and there 🙂 Going back Oct 2023.
  21. Also, someone on FB today said they were going to Nassau and Coco Cay only and wanted to know if Royal had updated their policy since Bermuda is changing their requirements as of 25 Oct. And, they couldn't find their cruise listed on the TA site. It was pointed out to the person that Nassau and Coco Cay are in Bahamas, not Bermuda. Post was quietly removed lolol.
  22. I think this thread has run it's course by taking the wrong exit lol. I guess we're done with discussing Bermuda 🙂
