  1. Still don't know why OP needs one for a hotel. We've stayed in several since DH got his CPAP and have not needed one. There is always a outlet next to the bed. Of course if you're staying a no tell motel, who knows.
  2. We were on Vision in April and have been on Jewel, GR and EN and for the last year or so, the Captains have all said basically the same thing on the ships we've been on then.
  3. This, but the reality is, Royal is not going to abandon Tampa or Baltimore so they need ships that will fit in both. Baltimore cruises routinely sell out weeks before a cruise.
  4. No one has all the details except at the top. The Captain knows more than most, but the employees/crew/staff don't know everything lol.
  5. Yes, all extension cords are banned. It's on Royal's website. Easy to find. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy
  6. Summit sailed out of NJ. We were on her about 8 years ago to Bermuda. And, until recently she was still going out of NJ. I know we were booked on her in July 2022, but cancelled to go with friends out of Baltimore instead.
  7. It's been established that Radiance Class will fit under the bridges. Tonnage isn't necessarily the issue, height is. Radiance class is a bit wider than Vision class which is why it has a higher tonnage.
  8. In April they were 7 and 9:15. Traditional dining was 5:30 and 7:45. We had 7:45 and actually did whichever show time worked for us. We were able to make the 9:15 a couple of times.
  9. The tunnel you're referring to is the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel between Hampton and Norfolk. The HRBT doesn't actually cross the Bay, and is having new tunnels added. It crosses over the intersection of the James River, Nansemond and Elizabeth River via I-64. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is the one that crosses the Bay near the mouth and it is not being expanded.
  10. Infrastructure isn't there (roads) to access the area easily. It's been rumored but shot down.
  11. One of the local news stations (WUSA9) had a reporter driving in the traffic through Baltimore towards the tunnel and traffic was moving at less than 13 mph, so, yeah, out of the ordinary. The Key bridge makes a huge difference in traffic flow and has ever since it was built.
  12. The news right now is showing how much the lack of the Key bridge is impacting Memorial Day weekend traffic.
  13. Every hotel we've stayed in since DH got his cpap has had an outlet right next to the bed so no need for an extension cord. You could also as the pp said, buy a cheap one and leave it at the hotel.
  14. We've had our wine inspected in Baltimore back when we were carrying some on. We don't bother anymore because on 7+ night cruises we get our 3 gifts and ours are all wine and on 5 night, we get 1 plus our 5 vouchers each. But, Baltimore has always been much more likely to inspect the bottles. They had us take them out and they would read the label and look at the seal.
  15. A few years ago, not sure when, but when it was homeported in Baltimore this last time, they were gone. I'm assuming it was during the drydock before that.
  16. No minigolf or trampoline. Did you do any research at all on the ship before booking? There's a rock wall and two outdoor pools as well as shuffleboard and ping pong, but that's about it. There's a teen club and arcade inside.
  17. We were on Vision the two cruises before the drydock she just finished. There were contractors onboard both cruises. We saw one walking around with a ship's officer on the outer deck looking at some things. At one point, they had blocked off one entrance to the Solarium for a bit to pull some ceiling panels. Another time, they were working in the ceiling on deck 8 in the guest cabin hallway. So, there will be some minor things at times, but nothing was closed for us.
  18. We were onboard in April for the last two cruises (out of Norfolk) prior to drydock. We were told by our steward that they would be replacing carpeting and some upholstery. But, this was a technical drydock and is more about "tuning" up and painting the hull.. I know they also tore up and replaced the solarium floor. Someone posted pictures on FB Not sure about the solarium pool.
  19. Nope. Sausage and bacon are baked ahead of time and kept warm. It's much easier and much more efficient to bake them. Ask next time you're onboard.
  20. Pretty sure they are baked in an oven (just like bacon). Restaurants do this routinely.
  21. Undercooked chicken is much more dangerous than undercooked pork. I've had chicken that looked undercooked in the MDR and returned it. The headwaiter, chef and Maitre D all came by and apologized profusely. They were really concerned about it. It was the friend chicken which I never order anymore. Never had the issue with the chicken breast or other chicken dishes. Just the bone in fried. It happened a couple of times. One time, it actually oozed pink when I cut into it.
  22. In the US pretty much contained to people who eat wild boar or bear. Virtually nonexistent in US farm raised pork.
  23. She was scheduled to be sold before the pandemic to Pullmantur. When they went out of business, Royal kept her.
  24. I get seasick if I don't medicate, but honestly if you took me blindfolded into a room with the curtains closed, I could never tell you which direction the bed is facing. I always take meclizine.
