  1. I blame Arkansas for getting all this going.
  2. If you have to do video you're going to have the best experience with Premium. If you can make due with Facetime audio or Facebook messenger audio calls, then value or even social should work.
  3. And that means for example if you're using upper pullmans in your room, they are deployed for the entire voyage making the room dark, cramped, and actually dangerous since they're right at head-level.
  4. There are drink stations on Lido deck available 24/7 There are few extra charge restaurants on Conquest - basically just seafood shack and the steakhouse, so there are no packages offered.
  5. It's almost like the purpose of this website is to critique cruises and cruise lines. Who woulda thunk? Those who just want endless cheerleading are free to visit other pages, like John Heald's facebook page for Carnival Cruise Lines in particular. I'm sure the other lines all have similar pages where wrongthink is severely punished. Thankfully, the moderators here at Cruise Critic are glad to allow critical viewpoints - provided it does not devolve into ad hominem attacks, etc. And yes - Carnival knows most of their cruisers, who are blue/red cards, don't care about the ever-declining quality of the product, because they don't know what Carnival is capable of.
  6. It was in February 2022 on Sunshine.
  7. I was responding to someone asking what they've cut. So obviously I would focus on where they've cut when answering the question.
  8. They cut chicken thighs into three pieces and fill the chafing tray up with rice at the buffet. Bacon crisis. Once a day cabin service. Overall crew reduction - every room steward I've had since the restart has commented on how many rooms he's assigned for example. Reduced hours for deli and pizza. No more late night snacks buffet. No included room service except dry danishes and coffee. The once nice seaday brunch menu has been cut back to a half sheet of paper and hours cut dramatically. It's just not a special vacation anymore.
  9. If you have it on hold yes the hold will keep your promo. But once the hold expires it's gone. It's admirable you want your PVP to get their commission but given the time crunch I would understand if I were your PVP if you went ahead and booked.
  10. The problem is they've cut rates too much, they're not profitable. By and large their strategy of sell rooms at a huge loss and hope to make it up with onboard spend isn't working. They've cut the experience so much that nobody wants to pay more either.
  11. You are asked to not fill it directly from the machines on Lido but you can bring on refillable cups no problem.
  12. I get your point and I could see how I'd probably think to behave that way too. But a 15 minute delay is deserving some sort of explanation I'd say.
  13. It would seem to me the best time to ask these questions would have been when you were in the situation? All we can do here is speculate.
  14. These are targeted offers, often to casino guests. Since they're giving away the room they want to make up revenue by giving the room to a gambler.
  15. Often there's only a handful of rooms available for these $50 rates. People will click on them and "reserve" a room in checkout but not end up booking. It shows as sold out for you, but if you check it a few minutes later you can book it. You can also try calling Carnival or your TA/PVP, they may be able to see rooms that aren't showing on the web for whatever reason.
  16. "What happens on the ship stays on the ship" They picked the right name for that drink, that's all I will say about it...🥴
  17. I don't think there is a discount for purchasing it in advance anymore, other than you're locking in the price now in case it goes up between now and when you cruise.
  18. You could also just go to the MDR in your PJs...you'd be overdressed on most Carnival cruises frankly...
  19. Does your casino give comps like free drinks while playing or a free balcony room? If not, then no. 😄
  20. Yes the doors are magnetic and yes there are ducks all over the Sunshine every cruise...
  21. Oh I don't think they'll be out of business by the end of the month or anything like that. But I think it's possible that they'll be gone in due time and people will point back to this event as what started their demise.
  22. Your next best option if the maitre'd cannot accommodate is to just eat at the buffet sadly...
  23. It's not really up for debate... Carnival says they need a chaperone.
  24. Back in the beforetimes, everyone had to choose an arrival time but plat/diamond, suite guest, and FTTF could arrive whenever they wanted. As always - it is an arrival time, not a boarding time. The distinction is important.
