  1. I think Blanton's is $18. There may not be any drinks over $20 right now actually.
  2. If you don't go to the shows, games on Lido, etc., then yeah you won't know the CD. That is where they're most visible.
  3. I don't wear or bring anything on a Carnival cruise that I'll miss if it goes overboard or if it gets faded in the washer...each to their own. I mostly use the laundry service because I hate the way my clothes smell like smoke from being in/walking past the casino.
  4. I don't know if any decisions have been made. Just saying that the way the article reads, they're only worried about getting industrial traffic going with this temporary channel which makes sense as that has national impact. Cruise traffic is less important on a national scale.
  5. I think they're going to be prioritizing industrial uses for the limited access channel. They won't be allowing cruise ships through until the process is complete. That's my sense of that quote anyway.
  6. You may be thinking of the shopping seminar but they may offer them during the welcome aboard show too, I don't remember. The shopping seminar is another good giveaway opportunity!
  7. The fun ashore talk is the one with the best giveaways I think. I haven't been to the welcome aboard show in so many cruises I don't remember the giveaways.
  8. I talked to one CD (I forget which one) and he said that he enjoyed the older/smaller ships that do the same itinerary every week. He was able to get into a rhythm. The fun ashore talk was the same every week, the activities were the same, etc.
  9. There will not be anything smaller than say Vista class built again for Carnival and I doubt they'll ever go smaller than Excel class to be honest. So you might as well quit hoping and pontificating. It's not going to happen. If the market does soften which I doubt, Carnival will simply have fewer large ships rather than a bunch of smaller ships. (they'll sell off the older/smaller of the fleet). And yes, that means they'll pull out of JAX and TPA if they must.
  10. I think last year they did a small discount on spa treatments for black friday. Your best bet is to buy what you want now. Carnival is hiking prices on these things every few months. If they do happen to have a sale, just cancel your pre-purchase and re-buy it. But more than likely they won't and you'll just end up paying more by waiting.
  11. Carnival is adding this to ships as they are drydocked, where space allows. The Vista just got one. I think all the Dream class has it now. The Excel class were built with it. Etc.
  12. People who keep waffling like this need to just call a TA.
  13. It's really for those on their first handful of cruises.
  14. American figured out that by taking one olive off their in-flight salads, they saved tens of thousands of dollars a year. So pennies add up.
  15. I have never been a napper - I have to be absolutely exhausted to take a nap. I wish I could.
  16. Looking at the interactive deck plan on Carnival.com, the deck plan just shows two regular sit-up chairs and a small table. No lounger. Probably have to get one of the big corner suites to get a lounger.
  17. And how many restaurants said they were saving the sea creatures when they took away straws...etc etc..."greenwashing" is not unique to Carnival or the cruise industry by any stretch...
  18. Yes embarkation night for sure and the time is 9:30. They make it late enough so that no matter when you eat supper you can make it. Of course, if you're like me it's just late enough you'll be in bed because of the early drive/flight that morning to get to the ship!
  19. Why would you wait? If the price goes down, you just cancel and rebook or get price protection. Waiting will only give you less cabin selection and likely cause you to pay more.
  20. If they can serve a bowl of chowder in a regular bowl vs. a bread bowl, it costs them less yet they presumably charge the same price.
  21. If the ship can dock in Baltimore, it'll be out of Baltimore. If not, it will be out of Norfolk.
  22. Definitely check the Carnival Adventures desk onboard. They usually don't sell all the tickets they have for the excursions before the cruise because they know a lot of people will wait until they get onboard to decide.
  23. Right, it's important to realize that the stewards are not the ones actually doing the laundry. Your laundry is put in a mesh bag and several mesh bags are washed and dried at once in large washers below deck by crew who do laundry all contract long and probably are not even allowed on guest decks.
  24. So if the food is disgusting (or even worse) on the other major lines, then that really is a bad portent for the industry.
  25. I remember on one of my cruises post-restart, they had a slide on the jumbotron at the main pool telling folks not to waste so much food. It specifically called out bread as the most-wasted food onboard. As far as the bread bowls I am sure waste was the reason. Same reason why the taco shell bowls are gone from blue iguana 😞
