  1. I have a spa pass for the duration of the cruise. I have visited both days before noon not busy at all. I am guessing because of the ship rolling so much from the swells. Plus it seems folks are more laid back. We went up for breakfast on Lido this morning and it was pretty quiet.. now when I walked back to our cabin thru Lido at 1 pm it was wall to wall cruisers eating. Food has been plentiful and good. Tonight is the first formal night.
  2. We have a balcony room on deck 8. We don't dine in dining room by choice. We use room service for coffee and sometimes lunch. Comedian last night was great. Attended a game show that was a lot of laughs. BB Kings is awesome. Today we attended How to Wear Your Sarongs...very interesting and audience participation. Now we are at Travel talk on what to see and do in port. Very interesting that they are not pushing HAL tours these are in your own things to do. Again very informative. First cruise for us with the Have It All...easy and for us worth it. Hope you don't mind others sharing on your live. If you do I apologize and will move on.
  3. We are on this cruise. We drove in day of sailing We opted to wait until the masses passed. We pulled into port dropped off our luggage, returned rental car.to airport, took city bus back to port. Arrived at port 1:30 walked right in no crowds at all walked onto ship no wait room ready and with 5 minutes our luggage arrived...easiest embarkation ever in 30+ cruises. We don't need or want to be 1st on the ship or with the masses.
  4. Whew I will have something to read after our cruise and I have cruise withdrawal!
  5. @TravelBluebird...wonderful news uneventful flights so far. Continued safety for your final legs of travel back to your home and recoup time. Our cruise starts today, so we are up super early with excitement.
  6. All signed up for some more FUN! Plus @Jamman54 Tribe review should be starting soon as well....all has not been lost this week for sure!
  7. Safe travels home it has been a blast following from my recliner here in Yuma!
  8. Yes sir our 1st step starts Tuesday our first adventure cruise to Hawaii!
  9. @kazu and @Haljo1935....I would encourage you to check out Honest Kitchen pet food. Quality food made here in the USA. We lost both our fur kids and while I have no "proof" I believe it was from the dog food as our vet had advised us that this particular brand she saw a lot of gastric issues with pets. We switched to Honest Kitchen and I will only feed this moving forward. Very easy for storage as well in our RV as it is dehydrated.
  10. @TravelBluebird...in case you are interested a fellow LONG time cruiser @jimbo5544over on the Celebrity CC page has started a live for his cruise to Antartica. Hoping by linking him here he will now check out your exciting review with photos!
  11. @TravelBluebird...hoping for another positive day for you despite the health issues.
  12. Will you link it here or do we need to look over on VV page? I'll be on my cruise but I want to follow along.
  13. I think being "selective" is an excellent way to cruise. I mean after all folks are paying good hard earned cash to cruise they want to have a good time, enjoy themselves and not be stressed. I watched a video the other day of 1st timers cruising on VV and they loved it cruising with all adults, there is some appeal there, and it does not mean that you don't like kids!
  14. @TravelBluebird....this cruise is an excellent way to share with others that there is so much more to cruising than just the Caribbean! You and hubby are creating lifetime memories....a photo book is definitely required for sharing with others when you are home.
  15. For us the only way we would cruise Excel or Vista class would be Havannah interior. We found Vista class to feel super crowded. Ocean Plaza area was unbearable in the evenings. Just our opinion.
  16. I agree 100% the BLOG is excellent and I look forward to each and every entry on each and every cruise adventure!
  17. I believe she is cruising end of March first part of April....it will more than likely be windy as they sail and cool in the evenings. I think the water temps will be cooler as well....but they are die hard water fans so they will do just fine. We have a 14 day Mexican Riviera booked over New Years Eve 2025 on HAL. Checking another item off my bucket list of cruising over a holiday!
  18. Awe thank you so much.....Susan & Gary a/k/a Hogladyrider....Gary isn't on any social media
  19. Reminder that cruising on the west coast is VERY different from the east coast. Not the Caribbean water or weather at all, very different. We did our 1st Mexican in February 2020. We loved it. Always windy on deck when cruising. When stopped not so much. The water color is definitely different from the Caribbean. I would hate to see you disappointed. I have read ALL your cruise reviews and land vacations on your web site so feel like I have an idea of what your family would enjoy. I believe @Jamman54 and Patti stayed at QM before one of their cruises and have pics in his review. We saw whales right from the ship while sitting out on the aft of the ship enjoying drinks with new friends. We also saw the arch right from the ship as well. It really depends on the weather conditions when you arrive as the Pacific is very different. We are doing our 1st cruise to Hawaii next week and I have spent almost one year researching and so glad I did and we will not expect the Pacific crossing to be anything like all the 40+ cruises we've done from Florida when we lived there. Good luck, I may have missed what month your cruise is booked for! With airlines they way they are today I'd definitely fly in ahead of time and flying east to west is pretty rough and long!
  20. I made sure to pack some congestion meds for our upcoming cruise, you never know what might happen!
  21. @MeganGC1983...you are a TRUE CLASS ACT. Though we have never met in person, it comes thru in your writing. Yes I am old enough to be your mother, but trust me, I feel more like an older sister. You are what I wanted to be when I was growing up in the era that said "women want it all". You are a mom, a wife, you have a full time job just in that, but you take the time to also maintain another fulltime job and take care of others and their needs. I admire that when you can get away on a cruise without the kids you are able to allow yourself to have a good time, yet when you cruise with the kids it is family time. Life is about balance and you seem to have discovered your own groove! Wishing you nothing but success in all your endeavors. Having lived the single life for many many years, it is "easy" compared to the life being in a relationship and trying to balance so much and so many different things. I applaud you and this LIVE has just been so much fun to read and follow. Your wrap up states it so well. Maybe some day we shall meet on a ship. Hope you have a wonderful VV cruise with friends and family and thank you so much for taking us along on this cruise it was a BLAST even from my RV recliner! I could not and would not attempt a Live like you did! Susan
