Elitism by other cruise lines about Carnival?
BlerkOne replied to GwenyP's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
One of the main differences between Walmart and Shopping Malls is that Walmart has enormous buying power and better prices. -

I might not have used the word elitism. Certainly some of the comments of Carnival sucks with no first hand experience are based on ignorance. -
Elitism by other cruise lines about Carnival?

If you desire a second lobster on Celebrity they will gladly sell you an additional one for $15. The bathrooms on Celebrity may resemble art galleries, but Carnival bathrooms are functionally equivalent, and who wants to do their business in public? Celebrity now charges for room service, jeans are allowed every night in the MDR, etc. etc. There really is a lot in common. -

I have met some people on Celebrity cruises who whisper the same thing. -
Carnival GUEST ADVISORY CANCELLATION NOTICE CARNIVAL PRIDE – JULY 21, 2023 July 19, 2023 Dear Carnival Pride Guest: We have an urgent message about your upcoming cruise. Carnival Pride is experiencing a technical issue and is making an unplanned stop in Kiel, Germany today so that we can board expert technicians. While we are working to make the repair and get the ship back to Dover as quickly as possible, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 9-day cruise that is scheduled to depart from Dover on Friday as planned. We know you have been looking forward to your summer cruise and are very sorry to share this unexpected, last-minute news. Please note: For those who have not yet traveled to Europe, you will receive a full refund and a 100 percent future cruise credit (FCC), plus any airline cancellation fees (see below for how to submit those receipts).* There is no need to call. Your refund will be automatically processed to your original form of payment. For those who are already in Europe, we will reimburse you for two nights of hotel (up to US$300 per night) and a food per diem of US$100 per day, per person, beginning on Friday to cover your expenses for the cancelled cruise. We will also cover any airline change fees if you decide to return home now. Based on when we can make the repairs and return the ship to Dover, we may be able to operate a revised itinerary with a shorter cruise that will end in Dover on the originally scheduled debarkation date of Sunday, July 30. We will send a follow-up communication on Thursday with the revised itinerary. If we are able to operate a shorter cruise, we will provide a prorated refund of your original cruise fare and an onboard credit. We are also exploring any availability on 7-day cruises out of Southampton on July 22 on our sister lines. Receipts for the reimbursement for airline rebooking fees, hotel and food per diems should be sent to airreimbursements@carnival.com. Other travel-related expenses directly related to this travel disruption may be submitted and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for your understanding. And again, our most sincere apologies. Sincerely, Colleen Oliverio VP, Guest Services - Contact Centers *The future cruise credit (FCC) is based on the cruise fare paid for this voyage (excluding taxes, fees, and port expenses), is non-transferable, cannot be used as a deposit or applied to a chartered sailing, has no cash value, and must be redeemed by July 31, 2024, on any Carnival Cruise Line departure open for sale. The FCC may only be used in the same currency in which the above voyage was originally paid and cannot be used for taxes, fees and port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, onboard charges, or gratuities. The booking guest shall be responsible for payment of the difference between the amount of the FCC and the amount of the new booking if higher. There is no refund for the FCC or for any cancellation penalties that may be assessed, and the FCC will be forfeited if you choose to cancel. After you have booked your new cruise, please use this link to provide us with the booking information so we can process your FCC.

Why No ice buckets on Carnival Venezia
BlerkOne replied to phoneman69's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I have no doubt that Carnival is, or will have ice buckets on the ship, but Carnival has plenty of other ships with the real funnel. Nobody should book a Carnival, Italian Style cruise expecting a regular Carnival experience. It is the customer who needs to adapt. -
For those who bring their own wine: Corkage Fee A $15 USD corkage fee, per 750 ml bottle, will be charged should guests wish to consume their wine or champagne in the main dining room, specialty restaurant or bar.

If there is, it may not be current as the menus are still evolving.

A great ship. One of my early pictures of her taken from our hotel balcony in Trieste

Turning Platinum on a back to back cruise
BlerkOne replied to BigJoe70's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Logic would say the first cruise, even though that isn't how it is written, since b2b cruises seem to be lumped together for the purposes of shareholder credit. -

Do you want a huge meal in the middle of the day or at night? That's the main difference. The lunches were started to catch the overflow when the dinners sold out.

Training and conditioning. Besides, something might have touched the water bottle. Noro is on the increase on cruise ships. https://www.marineinsight.com/shipping-news/norovirus-outbreaks-on-us-cruise-ships-triples-in-2023-as-the-sector-recovers-from-covid/
