  1. Don't you need reservations (or at least recommended) for shows on Royal Caribbean?
  2. The Pacific is cooler than the Atlantic, so there's that. Princess also sometimes does that route but the temps would be the same for them. Perhaps you have seem some of the hoopla on the Princess board about the recent decline in included venues - Carnival has a lot of included food venues, Princess pools are freshwater; Carnival pools are saltwater. Even on Alaska cruises you see kids enjoying the outside activities, but wind can shut some things down.
  3. Believe the people who lock their luggage.
  4. Ask on the ship how to get your benefits if unsure. Carnival suggests everyone review the Terms and Conditions as they sometimes change. https://www.carnival.com/vifp/terms-and-conditions GOLD Gold VIFP Club Sail & Sign Card One (1) Gold Year Specific pin presented on every cruise. (Benefit is not available on Carnival Australia sailings). One (1) complimentary drink on 5+ day Cruises. 5. One dish Emeril must have a hand in, is Natchitoches Meat Pies. I spy Coffee Glazed Duck on a menu. The Jambalya pasta has shrimp, but also has chicken and sausage. The Antipasti app has no seafood. Chicken Roulade - no seafood. Beef dishes available on Elegant Nights. It seems kind of balanced to me.
  6. I asked AI about Emeril and... (Emeril isn't from Louisiana - he hails from Fall River, MA) As an AI language model, I don't have real-time data, and my knowledge is up to September 2021. Emeril Lagasse, a renowned American chef, is known for his diverse cooking style and expertise in various cuisines, including seafood and beef dishes. Throughout his career, he has prepared a wide range of dishes, and it's difficult to determine definitively whether he cooks more seafood or beef dishes without access to the latest data. Historically, Emeril Lagasse has incorporated both seafood and beef in his cooking, as well as other types of cuisine. He hails from Louisiana, where seafood is a significant part of the local culinary tradition, so he has a strong connection to seafood dishes. However, he is also known for his skill in cooking beef and other meats.
  7. In our singular experience, a missing piece of jewelry showed up weeks later when finally unpacking from a cruise and it just showed up. This was after we had reported, security had helped search the cabin, etc., etc. It had been hiding all along, somewhere.
  8. Well, they suggest you don't, but they used to tell you to lock it. I lock mine. If they want to inspect, I can unlock and they can inspect in my presence. The porters etc., aren't Carnival employees.
  9. I always lock my checked luggage.
  10. Cruises lines will never please everyone. I'm convinced they could hand out bars of gold and some would complain. e.g. "I can only cruise one a year and don't get the same number of gold bars as someone who cruises more often."
  11. $9.95 per order + 18% gratuity. You could go to the buffet and bring food back to your cabin.
  12. Once on the ship you can download daily Funtimes http://fhma.cclfunhub.com/~/media/files/documents/funtimes.pdf Room Service Continental Breakfast is also included.
  13. I don't do breakfast, but will Princess now charge for RS Continental Breakfast?
  14. You're welcome. Checking yourself in does allow you to see the estimated wait time and be notified when your table is ready vs waiting near the MDR. Other cruise lines might just hand you a "pager" that accomplishes the same thing, but you still have to carry around.
  15. or they can check you in at the MDR. Paper menus are also available by request.
  16. A lot of people just threw them away. Just more waste. Most cruisers don't sit in their cabin the whole cruise and will be out and about at some point. It takes minimal effort to pick up the logo item or ship pin, for the people who want them. Paper drink coupons were eliminated by pre-loading the drink onto your sail and sign card. That takes even less effort on the part of the cruiser. No more forgetting to bring a drink coupon to brunch or wherever.
  17. Carnival does not have water bottle fill stations. Carnival has water dispensers for you to fill a cup that you can then pour into a water bottle.
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet_cleaning
  19. They will ask in advance if you have any allergies. Not liking something isn't really an allergy. The times we did Chef's Table I ate everything and liked it all. Even stuff I had never tried before.
  20. I didn't have an issue ordering all of the apps and no entree on Venezia. No doubt there is a learning curve to using new technology.
