  1. Guests can expect to enjoy well-known Italian dishes such as Pollo Parmigiana Della Cucina, ....
  2. I think Carnival is more likely to beef up the lower levels but you're dreaming if you think they are going to give away too much. Perhaps a small discount off of a purchase.
  3. The topic is Carnival vs Princess. Two Carnival brands. Princess has 2 ships on the books. It is anticipated that Carnival brands will add 1 or 2 ships per year starting in 2027. I bet Carnival gets at least one.
  4. https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-specialty-dining-venue-voted-best-of-2022/91283# Other cruise lines need not apply.
  5. Not everyone is blinded by newer or bigger. Neither one means better. I was on the oldest ship Carnival had twice this year and both cruises were great. In both cases the next cruise was on the newest ship - Mardi Gras one time, then Celebration. There are no bad cruises. Royal is well over 20 billion in debt. The only reason MSC cruises didn't bleed billions is that they are still small.
  6. Easy enough to google. E.G. https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Carnival-Sunshine-was-set-back-by-vandalism-reveals-CEO
  7. If Carnival Corp wanted a new ship, they could certainly have one. The individual Carnival lines can't override corporate who supplies the funds. MSC, for example, is still essentially a one trick pony. RCI has more older ships than Carnival. Carnival is ahead of the curve.
  8. I was disappointed with the lack of CNN on Celebrity. I think Carnival's compromise is better.
  9. Royal has more ships over 20 years old than Carnival. What is their secret?
  10. Sunshine was an experiment and was sabotaged early on. Carnival Cruise Line has modified their thinking based on lessons learned but is still updating ships. Clearly Carnival is satisfied with the approach. Which of the other Carnival brands have tried this approach?
  11. The article is Carnival Corporation, not just CCL, and Corporate has already disposed of a number of the less efficient ships. Carnival can charge whatever they want and some people will pay it. Not everyone bases cruises on the cheapest price they can find. Despite what some may think, the various Carnival brands do have a loyal base. Now Carnival needs to work on getting rid of the less efficient customers. That will effectively raise revenue received without raising prices. The Corp strategy of shifting ships between divisions to follow demand is a good one and ahead of the curve.
  12. The original Concierge Club In addition to the rewards for significant milestone cruises, all Platinum cardholders are entitled to the following shipboard benefits and features: Petit fours and/or canapés delivered to cabin one evening Personalized stationery A special Carnival logo item Guaranteed dining times and supper club reservations Complimentary entry fee into blackjack or slot tournament Spa Carnival priority reservations and complimentary treatment upgrade Complimentary wash and fold laundry service Complimentary arcade tokens for members under age 18 Priority tender boarding Priority embarkation and debarkation Neither table size nor dining room was guaranteed.
  13. The wording of any year would include near the top the program terms and conditions includes the program is subject to change with or with notice. There are always some people switching tables on any given cruise. Did you ask the maitre d' to move you to a larger table? As for wording in 2012 Platinum (75 to 199 cruise days): Benefits include priority embarkation, debarkation, tender service, and dining times (including main dining room and specialty restaurants, if applicable), an enhanced logo gift item, along with a ship- and year- specific pin each voyage that will be redesigned annually, a dedicated phone number and concierge desk on board, complimentary wash and fold laundry service, casino buy-one-get-one tournament entry, complimentary arcade $5 play for guests under 18, as well as all of the benefits of the Red and Gold level memberships. https://carnival-news.com/2012/06/11/carnival-cruise-lines-rolls-out-revamped-guest-recognition-program-offering-array-of-exciting-perks-and-benefits/
  14. There will never be cruising exactly like 2019 again. There are still cases of covid on the ships (and flu and RSV), and the ticket contract still (and likely forever) contains wording dealing with covid and public health. Protocols are relaxed now, but could change with little or no notice in the future.
  15. P&A on Excel class does have some extra charge items, but most items are included.
  16. This has always been Carnival's target market. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.
  17. As Carnival raises fares, it would only make sense that fewer freeloaders are allowed to dilute to VFIP program, but it is already too late.
  18. People who don't get casino offers also gamble and spend money on the ship in addition to paying for their cabin. The VIFP program has a budget and there are limited resources on a ship. It was not designed to attract gamblers. That's why the casino has a budget to attract gamblers. No marketing program is sustainable without change but with well over a million platinum cruisers with points that never expire, there will be changes, but not for the better, for those not on casino offers. CCL reserves the right to not count sea days on non-revenue fares, but they they usually don't enforce that and have wrecked the program as a result. The Carnival loyals, as opposed to casino loyals, want more, but there is no more to give. There will have to be cutbacks.
  19. I see that Celebrity has (eventually) given me triple points for the comped cruise. I'm not refusing them (not sure I could)m but I still think it is double dipping. I had a nice balcony cabin for $166. Airfare on relatively short notice did run it up.
  20. Carnival President Christine Duffy and Chef Emeril Lagasse will 'Choose Fun Together' and Light the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball MIAMI, Dec. 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Line will usher in 2023 on land and at sea as Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy will light the famous New Year's Eve Ball in New York's Times Square, and nearly 100,000 guests sailing on Carnival's 24 ships will join in the celebration to welcome in the new year. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/carnival-cruise-line-kicking-off-2023-with-times-square-and-fleetwide-new-years-eve-celebrations-301709595.html
  21. Once again, you try a personal attack. Blocked and rejected. Clearly the status quo isn't getting Carnival where they need to be. Change is the only answer. You offered nothing but insults. I offered the solution.
  22. Less there be any doubt about what Carnival brands are targeting Carnival Corporation is ramping up advertising spending across its portfolio of brands, according to President and CEO Josh Weinstein, speaking on the company’s year-end and fourth quarter earnings call. He said it was a move to support future demand. “I’ve actively been working with each brand on their strategies and road maps,” Weinstein said. “As a result, I’ve authorized our brands to take a significant step up in advertising activities, including a nearly 20 percent increase in our investment this past quarter over 2019, to elevate awareness and consideration and to drive demand for both the near and the longer term. This should be particularly impactful with those new-to-cruise, where we draw about one-third of our guests, as we position to take share from land-based alternatives.”
