  1. Pro tip - You can usually skip the line and walk up to counter display where they are available to pick up.
  2. I'm thinking Disney doesn't offer a drink package that includes liquor?
  3. They might. I know a number of them. On Celebration the Cruise Director was kind enough to get some ice for me.
  4. Sometimes I like a bleu cheese/garlic crust on a properly prepared steak.
  5. Food is SUBJECTIVE. Like you say, an opinion. Some people like steaks well done. To me, that is an abomination. Not even bleu cheese can save those.
  6. Disney doesn't have casinos, much less casino rates. Hmmmmm. Being mass market, Carnival does have more diversity in every way, cruisers, entertainment, etc. Something I thought lacking on Celebrity. More reality and less Camelot. In lots and lots of Carnival cruises, I have never witnessed most of the badness some post about. But Carnival is much bigger than Celebrity and carries more people, so statistics would say many things are possible.
  7. I see lots of VIPs in the priority line at Guest Services as well.
  8. Challenges with crew is certainly one reason Virgin canceled cruises and postponed delivery of Resilient Lady. At least according to the company.
  9. They are only following the leaders (other cruise lines).
  10. I never prepay gratuities, especially if gratuities are going up. The staff deserves every penny of their gratuities.
  11. Nothing compared to the interest they lose by giving away cabins to gamblers
  12. The industry did change. They increased gratuities in a time when there is a shortage of workers. As the tips are pooled and distributed they are not direct compensation. At least now the system is more fair to employees than in the good old days. Perhaps they should even add a charge for setting up Pullman beds.
  13. They are gratuities and is how the industry operates. When gratuities are included you have totally eliminated any incentive for staff to go above and beyond. They already know what they are guaranteed to receive without killing themselves.
  14. Resorts include a resort fee, too. I do like that Virgin is kid free. Seems appropriate A number of cruise lines have raised the price of Internet and gratuities and more. Carnival is not the only line to do it more than once in a short period of time.
  15. And they have to account for that money which costs the more than a few pennies of interest which they are taxed on.
  16. There are cheapskates across the board. Even if you eliminated all riffraff there would still be cheapskates.
  17. No, but I imagine the HD could sort it all out so there won't be any more issues with ice. 🙂
  18. Then I'd call Guest Services and ask if they could get the Hotel Director to deliver some ice.
  19. Call your cabin steward when you want more. You can also call room service.
  20. Attitude is everything. If you think you are going to have a bad time, you probably will. Celebration is an amazing ship. We spent 14 days on it and still didn't do everything. Go with an open mind.
  21. Guides on a couple of excursions indicated that Carnival was building it, but now that I think about it, they were Carnival excursions. I wouldn't be surprised if Carnival was paying for some of it.
  22. They aren't out of space, but only so many venues can fit in the area(s) that haven't been named. Offhand, I only noticed one that is still to be revealed. https://www.carnival.com/-/media/64a4430808b84b98a70a95d379f713ff.ashx Carnival had already announced most https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/carnival-cruise-line-unveils-new-details-for-carnival-venezia-301700741.html but it is an Italian themed ship
  23. I don't think normally, but certainly could decide to crack down.
