  1. Royal Caribbean is following the leader: https://www.cruisehive.com/service-change-spotted-on-royal-caribbean-ship/89773 I believe John Heald posted today that it wasn't coming back. I'll leave that as an exercise to look up. There will never again be cruising as it was pre-covid. There is a new normal.
  2. You can still order breakfast. Guest Services can print a breakfast menu for you. I have one somewhere. It's basically the same as this as I recall.
  3. and they tend to be louder and more dramatic.
  4. You can find unhappy people on all of the boards. Some seem to make a career out of it.
  5. I don't know. Celebrity gave me a free cruise and I had never been on Celebrity before. They wouldn't budge on free airfare, though. 🙂
  6. It's more valid than many of the other complaints and I have cruised more than once with Christine. I have no need to invite her.
  7. Oh the drama. I'm pretty sure Carnival won't even notice and the rest of us will go on with our fun lives.
  8. For gamblers, I agree. They need to eliminate casino freebies.
  9. I'm guessing you didn't book flights through Carnival.
  10. You're welcome. The OP has already stated they are moving to Celebrity. Makes me go hmmmmm.
  11. Quoting yourself doesn't establish anything. All that was established was that it is possible.
  12. Don't go on one cruise line always comparing them to a different one. Don't expect everything to be the same. Each cruise line has its own identity. Carnival Celebration is huge and you can't possibly see or do everything in a week. There will be a variety of entertainment options competing for your time. Try to familiarize yourself with the deck plan so you have some idea where things are, particularly any of interest. Once on the ship, you can get pocket sized deck plan maps that are also helpful. Both cruise lines are increasingly dependent on their "apps". You can still get paper menus in Carnival eating venues but they won't hand them to you be default. Just ask. Carnival doesn't put daily activity papers in the cabins these days, but they are available on the app, or you can pick up printed copies at a few locations on the ship. The casino on Celebrity is huge with a large part dedicated to non-smoking. I think they do a fine job of keeping smoke out of the non-smoking part.
  13. If you use one with ice/alcohol, they might question.
  14. Carnival already does this for competing cruise lines. I have no doubt they hire honest people to do the same for their own line.
  15. Unless something has changed, it is xrayed before it ever makes it to the carts. Just like the passengers are screened before they get on the ship.
  16. You Tube has a number of videos on the magic. Having said that, I'm pretty sure Carnival doesn't make everything from scratch.
  17. If something innocuous. If the screeners see something they think could be dangerous or illegal they aren't going to open the case, they would call in law enforcement to investigate.
  18. Closer in that the Coast Guard is under Homeland Security and has to approve the port security plan. Prior to embarkation I'm not sure what law enforcement agencies would do anything unless her name was similar/the same to some person of interest, or if the private luggage screeners thought there was something suspicious in her possessions.
  19. Dunno, but TSA has nothing to do with cruise port security.
  20. Cheap marketing research is a primary reason for John Heald being on FB, Instagram, etc. Carnival does email surveys of various kinds to verified Carnival cruisers vs anonymous internet posters. No doubt Carnival does notice internet chatter, but they receive their funding from Corporate who is interested in ROI.
