  1. Now on Regal . I see Sabatini's opened for lunch, BUT, it was for the top cruise day cruisers. I was not one of them
  2. I can confirm there are issues. Pixel is at Android 14. Samsung is at 13. Tis the app at fault. They are working on it.
  3. I may have to retract/redact that. Now having some issues (but I also have an iPhone because, why not) 😺
  4. Perhaps you should have given away free (cheap) champagne?
  5. Sometimes a bargain, sometimes marked up bigly. Buyer beware
  6. I've tried the buffet a few times for dinner, and almost always wonder Why???? When there is pizza, the Deli, and more to try. I have even started paying for Fish and Chips occasionally because have been really good.
  7. I assume they make money, too. The real question is the ROI sufficient? Obviously some gamblers really do risk a lot. I suspect most don't.
  8. They could eliminate the buffet altogether and I wouldn't miss it. Carnival has a number of other venues to choose from for all meals.
  9. I wouldn't try to plan everything down to the last minute - you will greatly add stress to your day. A private table can finish faster. You can also ask that they don't wait for you to finish a course before bringing the next one. If you eat at popular times, it will take longer than at off times. I prefer to let it take as long as it takes and enjoy my food (and digestion).
  10. I learned a long time ago to avoid questionable hearsay. Especially when squared.
  11. Gamblers love to assert this without any numbers to support. Yet some admit to gambling almost nothing. and sometimes gamblers win some. They certainly are among the biggest complainers including Carnival cutting back offers. Post covid, giving away cabins was a way to get occupancy up and cash flow going, but with cruise lines running at over 100% occupancy, there simply isn't a need.
  12. Doah - I guess it was late - it was 2 hours in the other direction. I think.
  13. As they should. And service will be even faster as the staff want to finish up. But I try not to push it that much. My last cruise was from a port with a 2 hour time difference, so eating "late" wasn't really that late, although we do prefer to eat later than many. And we "fall" back tonight an hour.
  14. How rude and insulting. This is one of the reasons I avoid RCL at all costs. I was on the ship for 15 days and never noticed anything is desperate need of cleaning and repairs.
  15. More like 8:30. Don't they stop seating at 9? They don't run out of food.
  16. Marketing 101. They still have your $429 plus gratuities on a cabin that may have gone unsold. Carnival likes to give deals to gamblers, other cruise lines spread them out.
  17. I don't bother with reservations and just walk right in - usually about 30 minutes before they close.
  18. Did Royal just increase gratuities? Life goes on. Nobody is forced to cruise much less eat in specialty restaurants. Perhaps if Carnival stopped subsidizing gamblers, the rest of us wouldn't have to share the burden.
  19. or perhaps shifted their target market to different players. Promotions are marketing gimmicks and only exist as long as desired results are achieved. They are nothing earned or owed.
  20. That would indicate Carnival doesn't need to offer better to get the desired ROI. I do find the Carnival casinos to be more entertaining and less of a money grab compared to Celebrity, although I do like the non-smoking aspect. Celebrity gave me a free cruise before I have ever set foot on a Celebrity ship. It might be the only way I would go back.
