  1. Tender procedures are cruise line specific Spot on .... we visited on VIKING Ocean and there are no tickets for tendering . . .
  2. I avoid Port E because the parking is a disaster . . .
  3. only line I've seen 'enforce' dress code since 2010 is Cunard .... and they are strict saw them chase a guy out of a bar at 6:03 when dress code went into effect at 6 ... and access to main dining was denied if you were not in dress of the day which was a jacket (for men) on informal days and a suit or preferred black tie on formal days. dun't like it? Don't sail Cunard . . here we are in acceptable formal nite attire
  4. "official taxis are identified by having RED license plates with two white letters (one of which is 'P') and four white digits, indicating they are officially licensed as taxis and insured for riders. " IME there was always a taxi dispatcher at DRF who could call one if none were standing by . . .
  5. are you aware of what kind of $$ you are looking at????? https://www.fishkeywest.com/charters/key-west-split-fishing-charter/ ..cheapest one I've seen but not looking hard .....
  6. a comment: son booked a single on ODY' for a family turkey day cruise. Single cabin was nice - better than sharing and better than paying a premium for a standard two person cabin BUT be aware the cabin is SMALL .... he's a big guy and was a bit uncomfortable. The bed is a full - not a queen .... his feet hung off the end! Storage space seemed WAY less than 'half a standard room'. He supposedly had an oversized balcony ..... wellllllll Just sayin' ...... I don't think it would be his first choice for next cruise (experienced cruiser BTW - was on Disney Wish maiden cruise as a 'platinum' member)
  7. saw in Geiranger, Bergen and Oslo but no where else in Norway .... in addition to these spots been to Tromso, Honningsvag, Lofoten & Molde returning this summer to add Narvik & Longyearbyen to the list of 'been there' https://city-sightseeing.com/en/68/geiranger/73/hop-on-hop-off-geiranger
  8. Mrs and daughter were in Bergen for this event a few years back and despite just about everyplace being closed they had a good time. The local folks enjoyed seeing visitors sharing in their celebration and Mrs was very impressed with the 'traditional dress' many wore on this day .... more impressed when she discovered what these garments typically cost!! Parades:
  9. BL says they will get you to MCO for $100 per person in 3 hours ..... a one day rental can typically be had for $100, carries 3 or 4 or? and the drive is around 3 hours .... I was a math major and sleep with my CPA ...... do the math ....... and the train leaves you at the airport while a rental car might take you all the way to the parks . . . at least until Gov' of Florida forces them to close . . . 🤐
  10. in general there is a garage 'assigned' to each terminal. There is no reservation system. I've never heard of ALL the garages being full .... in general for any cruise the number of folks/cars leaving the garages from previous cruise is equal to the number arriving for next cruise. but if you think about it this suggests arriving EARLY may not be a good idea . . . let people get OUT.
  11. I read there is really nothing in canaveral to do Well that's wrong ..... and we're talking one night? Maybe an afternoon and night? Near the port is nice beach if you arrive early enuf to enjoy and the port side restaurants seem to entertain many with evening entertainment, watching cruise ships depart (build the anticipation for the morning) and maybe even a space launch ....Cape Canaveral is a tourist beach small town ..... there's 'stuff to do' zip lines museums KSC Visitor Center go karts mini golf surfing lessons eco tours kayaking parasailing rent a polaris slingshot
  12. well now wait a minute .... I happen to be returning to the Melbourne/Cape Canaveral Area by plane soon and the least expensive flight I found WAS to Melbourne .... NOT Orlando Melb has the advantage of WAY less crowded ... heck there are seldom more than one plane boarding or unloading at a time .... a long TSA line at Melb is 5 minutes! I MUCH prefer to use Melbourne or Sanford & avoid Orlando when I can. p.s. I'm comin' in by DELTA . . . p.s.2 there's more than one WONDER .... Disney Wonder, RCCL Wonder of the Seas and I believe Carn' has a Wonder too .....
  13. I always walk a lil further down the road to Sunset House ... great snorkeling .... seldom any other cruisers there .... great bar for a snack and libations
  14. actually I took my young daughter to get her hair braided a couple of times. If you use a tourist place / street vendor it may be outside and sanitation could be questionable. I found a beauty parlor and negotiated a price. Nice shops with air conditioning ...... never had a problem . . .
  15. https://hotrayzlimos.com/fleet/lincoln-mkt-8-passenger/ they hook up a trailer for bags ....

    Tipping

keep in mind the conversion factor $1US = 80 cents CI (street rate) IOW your $10US is $8CI many bars and rest's will automatically add 15% tip and usually prices are in CI ..... US dollars are accepted but don't be surprised if change is CI ..... <she may look 20 ... but she's 16 CI!>
  17. depends ..... the port spreadsheet listed pass' counts for the ships in the past. They stopped doing this. I think it scared folks. 3 small ships vs 3 big ships can be a difference but 3 is not as bad as 6! know your ships? iow know how many the 3 in question carry?
  18. I'm a local I can not say I've ever heard of an issue and I just put in Terminal 1 to Sanford airport and saw a ride 3 minutes away for $80 BUT this is NOT prime time for cruise business ... the ships all departed for the day ...... The thing to remember is Canaveral and Sanford are small towns as compared to Miami or Orlando and accordingly they have fewer folks doing the UBER driver thing. Couple this with PC sometimes having 4,5 or even 6 ships in a day throwing in excess of 20,000 people (between arrivals and departures) and the potential for a mess is VERY REAL. Getting an UBER from S to PC is probably not an issue ... getting one at the port for the trip TO S ..... welllllllll The only suggestion I have is to check the schedule for your day(s) in question to see what the port load is .... https://www.portcanaveral.com/getattachment/Cruise/Cruise-Lines-Schedules/CPA-Website-Schedule-Jan-May-2023.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US
  19. do you prefer the water to go left to right or right to left? I tend to spend very little time on my veranda .... like to have one but can't say I sit out there much . .
  20. no fee unless you rent something as of my last visit anyway .... they may require a vest ... we have our own they do rent lockers ....
  21. Where does the Dokken/Jetevik port shuttle drop off passengers? a tourist map I saved from our last visit where we did NOT park at Jek/Dok piers .... shows a 'cruise shuttle' takes you out of the heavy industrial area and no further. the fish market is about 1/2 mile and the old water front maybe another quarter ... ditto for the funicular (depends on which way you turn at the corner. These walks would be pretty flat . . . but not too many more blocks from the water things can get STEEP
