  1. We are looking forward to our first Viking Ocean cruise next month. While I understand gluten free options will be available, can someone tell me what GF bread (e.g., hamburger buns? pizza? bagels, crackers?) he can/cannot expect? Thank you.

  3. Good luck. something going on for sure. Actually the day after my fiasco with them, out of the blue, I got a customer service survey from Celebrity. Interesting timing.
  4. Really? When I called Captain's Club two days ago, I must have gotten some new person as she had no idea the price for me to do this. She even put me on hold and had no answers after putting me on hold for 15 minutes other than tell me to go on line at the end of the week to do it as the website allow me to do it. I don't trust that response. Can I ask you the price differential with your elite status to upgrade the drink package?
  5. I was on hold for Captains Club for 1 hour only to get an agent who did not have the answer to the very same thing I wanted to inquire about - cost to upgrade my drink package. She then put me on hold for another 15 minutes only to say try on line in a few days. Well it still doesn't show the option Sorry, what is the enhancement line or are you referring to general customer service?
  6. Not at all dismissing Celebrity. We love Celebrity once on board. We are going on the Apex next month (our 9th Celebrity cruise) and back on Apex on a TA in November. Just not too pleased with the current pre-cruise issues, changes, inconsistent customer service, which we have never encountered in all our years cruising with Celebrity. As far as Viking, hopefully that is not the case on the Panama Canal cruise, where most excursions are considered a bit more strenuous 😉 Worth a try. Should be interesting...
  7. Exactly. Friends going on the same cruise as us - their app, which they loaded yesterday, says no charge except at night and ours shows the $9.95 charge. Both in AQ. What the......

  10. Clearly you got a better Captain's Club agent than I did today. I was on hold forever and even when she put me on hold again to clearly ask someone else, the agent was not able to tell me the cost to upgrade with my elite status. I was told to check back on line in a few days and would be able to do it then. And if that didn't work I should call Captain's Club back Apparently some computer upgrades being worked on? mmmm
  11. Exactly what I was hoping to find out. Thank you sooo much!!! A crusty bread sounds like a good idea too. The toast at dinner is ridiculous. Interesting that the GF Muffins that people have mentioned were never offered in Blu or Luminae (last March). Will be sure to ask this time.
  12. A bit of a mess for sure. Was speaking to a Captain's Club agent this morning (after over an hour wait). I told the agent that I have a basic package which was included with my booking. I was put on hold for another 15 minutes while she asked someone else to get answers to what I thought were simple questions - She could not answer: - the cost differential if I wanted to upgrade our packages since I read that elite passengers get a discount to upgrade. But that discount amount seems to be 10% or 15% depending on where you look 🤦‍♀️) - why the option to upgrade is not showing up on my planner So basically I was told that the system is being worked on (common theme lately) and I should check my planner again in a few days and then would be able to do this on line or the app. Or otherwise call back. MMMM Incidentally, we are taking our first Viking cruise next month and am blown away by their customer service including getting a person who deals with your questions and follows up with emails whenever anything comes up to make sure your issue is resolved. What a concept.
  13. I think hearing from various people shows the range. As a matter of fact, my DH were discussing this morning our planned trip to the grocery store before we board to get him a few things. Now the big question is, if he brought a package of GF bagels to Blu, will they store it for him? Doubt it? Me too. 🙂
  14. OP - This is correct. All retreat cabins include these perks. The codes Celebrity uses on their billing system is mindboggling and ridiculous. When we were in a SS last year, I was concerned like you were and even took a screenshot as above just for my own peace of mind. No worries and once you are in a suite, hard to change.
  15. Know you are looking for suggestions for other beaches, but I am actually interested in finding more about your experience with Secret Harbour for the day. Do you need to connect with the resort or just go directly to the beach and rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach? Amenities?
  16. Marmalade was one of the best meals we had! Plus the atmosphere and service are top notch Book asap as others have said.
  17. In March we were delayed at the port (we were in a SS and at their suite check in area) as they said there was a balance due. Imagine! My husband was quite humiliated. Thank goodness we had the invoice to prove it. Think they comped us on something as an apology.
  18. Me neither. Since we booked so close to the cruise we had to pay in full which we did and the first booking confirmation showed 0 balance.
  19. Ok then....they are clearly having annoying accounting issues. Guess I will call them yet again before I actually check in so there are no surprises at boarding. Kind of ridiculous.

  23. So we booked a Feb cruise directly on the Celebrity site and got a confirmation, booked in full. All good. Then an hour later got another confirmation, completely wrong with a large balance showing. Called Celebrity fixed! This morning, got a move up offer with yet another copy of my booking with a balance! Then after calling Celebrity this morning about another matter regarding my cabin, I got another booking confirmation with the 2nd incorrect one again. What is going on? Annoying having to keep calling and holding to fix their mistake.
  24. So quick question as I clearly pushed booked too quickly. Two days ago I booked an AQ for an upcoming Apex sailing. What I thought I booked was a regular balcony, confirmation said balcony but when I just got a move up offer email, it says Infinity Veranda. What? After calling Celebrity, was told ALL AQ are Infinity cabins. Is that correct? Not having sailed on Eden class before, mea culpa.
  25. I am now trying to figure out how to upgrade pre-cruise using maybe? my elite discount. But...for some reason I cannot see any links on the website to upgrade only purchase a package? Anyone able to do it? No biggy if I do when we board. Plus so many inconsistencies on different lists. Some don't even have the specialty coffees on classic which am sure is incorrect.
