  1. I've had no real problems using the Medallion app doing all the prep work for our upcoming cruise on the Carribean Princess in 3 weeks. Did all our meal planning, excursions, travel document entry, etc. We're both green lane for embarkation. I'll stick with the current app, barring no complications once we get aboard.
  2. I guess it means ordering my next drink when I start on my previous one...
  3. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, right!
  4. We sail in 24 days on the Caribbean Princess for a week to the eastern Caribbean from FLL. Have an active bid in for $350/PP to go from a balcony to a CC mini-suite. I'd like to know if anyone else has successfully upgraded on a 7-day trip in this region to and from the same room types and what their bid was?
  5. One of the YT cruise channels I follow stated today that there is a new app coming December 1st that will replace the current app, which will sunset on January 31st. We'll see how good it works...
  6. I just saw on YT where Princess is rolling out a new app to replace the current one. The new app is supposed to be rolled out on December 1st, the current one will go away at the end of January.
  7. The OP said they left Los Angeles on the 4th. Perhaps after they arrived from Asia?
  8. 11 days? Did they use Pony Express? Even by USPS snail-mail standards that seems a bit excessive. The charge for our Medallions and accessory shipment for our December 10th sailing just hit my account 2 days ago, so it looks like they will be shipping soon if not already.
  9. Does it show no times available? Or give an error of some kind? I booked our December trip last July, and reserved our 2 specialty dinners and 5 MDR nights in August. Even then, some nights were showing as not available - I wanted to book our 2 specialty meals on sea days, as I heard that those are the formal nights in the MDR and I was trying to avoid them, but 1 night showed no times available. This close in you may have to wait until you get aboard and go to guest services.
  10. There's also a forum here on CC that is all about disabled cruising: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/114-disabled-cruise-travel/
  11. As I mentioned earlier we're booked on the Caribbean Princess for the 12/10 voyage out of Port Everglades. I bid the minimum $250/pp for an upgrade from a balcony to a CC Mini-Suite. Still shows "pending" when I checked earlier. I guess they want to wait and see if anyone come in with a late offer that's higher?
  12. Excellent! We're on the same cruise, I bid the minimum ($250) to go to a Reserve Mini-suite from a balcony. Still waiting to hear back.
  13. Sorry to hear about your predicament. Glad to hear you got the top insurance. We've never had to make a claim, so I can't tell you what to do...
  14. @icft I think that's just awful about what happened to your wife, I wouldn't even think about going on another cruise with Carnival. It certainly reinforces my decision to avoid them. As I stated earlier in this thread I don't cruise with Carnival, I received a link to this thread in my Google feed so I followed it to find out what the deal was. As far as I'm concerned they can check me and my luggage as many times as they want, I wouldn't be offended. We deal with it every time we travel by air, so what's the big deal anyway?
  15. I wasn't implying a conspiracy, but let's face it - profiling does happen. And I know I'll draw some flak for saying it but I'm OK with it.
  16. Except maybe when they get the munchies and cut in line at the buffet...🤣
  17. Not sure what time they normally show the movies, this is our first time with Princess coming up in December. But how many parents enforce a curfew while on vacation? By the way, where can one find out the movie schedule for a particular cruise?
  18. Exceeded only by threads dealing with tipping and MDR dress codes!
  19. Just curious, is B & B available on board?
  20. I saw Oppenheimer in the theatre, it was a good movie but definitely is not one that minors should see, at least in its uncensored form.
  21. Totally agree, but I had no clue as to what any of these shows were about, except for Whitney Houston. I'll share these responses with my wife, and we can then decide what might interest us and what we will probably skip.
  22. I don't cruise on Carnival, my feed sent me the link on this thread. Just how bad is Carnival "struggling with drugs and violence "? Are we talking opium dens or just the occasional whiff of weed? And I've not heard of any cartel involved shootings on any cruise line, so please enlighten me....
