  1. QM2 May 14-23 Hamburg to NY May 17: Black and White May 21: Roaring 20s
  2. We're doing a QM2 crossing from Hamburg next May after spending a week in Germany visiting family. I'm assuming that flowing, chiffon pants and lovely tops/jackets will be acceptable on gala nights...? I no longer own any evening gowns and wouldn't have room in my luggage anyway. My husband plans to bring a suit.
  3. We were on in March-granted, this was only our second Oceania cruise-but we loved it. The food was excellent-so much better than on our previous cruise lines. One of the arms on my glasses cracked, and I took them to the front desk to see if I could get a bit of glue. The receptionist sent them to one of their staff who repaired it perfectly and at no charge. Excellent service from our perspective!
  4. We are taking the Queen Mary II from Hamburg to New York next May. We have only one previous crossing from Southampton to New York (7 years ago), and we took the Cunard bus from the cruise terminal to LaGuardia. My husband has mobility issues, and the bus is not ideal for us. To anyone who has travelled from the terminal to LaGuardia - is it better to arrange a car or find a taxi at the terminal? Thank you!
  5. Three of our four family members contracted COVID at the end of our recent Marina cruise - many people were coughing and, of course in retrospect, we should have masked. We thought we were safe, as we ate by ourselves and, for the most part, did not go on organized tours. But one of us was on a bus tour where a passenger coughed constantly. Thank goodness for six vaccinations (in my case) - mild cases all around with lingering cough, etc. We'll know better next time.
  6. Yes, we were in a Southampton hotel, but I’m sure they would pickup at the cruise terminal for a day trip. And yes, it was a private tour
  7. We just had a fabulous day trip to Stonehenge, Salisbury, and Winchester Cathedral with stonehengetours.com. We board Marina in an hour!
  8. We’re also flying in on the 9th, meeting our daughter and teenage granddaughter, then after a night in Southampton, we have a full day booked to Stonehenge, Salisbury, and Winchester. This all will be new for our granddaughter as will being on the ship from the 11th to 23rd!
  9. I just answered on another post - we have two 2024 cruise-only booked with discounts and OBC - we're staying as is - much better for us.
  10. Bonne fète du Canada a vous! Happy Canada Day from Toronto! We have two cruises booked in 2024 - we always do cruise-only, and I just looked on the Canadian website - it now shows the Simply More prices. I also had taken a screenshot (and have our confirmation invoices) for both. Because one was an onboard booking with discount and OBC and the other during a special promotion, we are much better off staying with our bookings as they are.
  11. Excellent-thanks! Other port schedules I found weren’t as specific as this
  12. Thanks-we’ll give them this information but will say we won’t really know until we arrive
  13. Thank you so much for the information!
  14. Anyone on Marina now-which terminal/pier did you use in Kiel? We have family meeting us on July 14 (Marina), and they’d like to know.
  15. And now we've booked a Vista Caribbean cruise in January and, because of a special sale with our TA, a 'bucket list' cruise to Egypt and the Holy Land in September of 2024! We're keeping our fingers crossed for good health, as our cruising days are surely winding down....
  16. While we are not as experienced in cruise travel as some people here, we have done 6-7 cruises on HAL which we certainly enjoyed (preCOVID). We decided to try Oceania last May for a retirement congratulations cruise (Marina -Rome-London), and we fell in love with Oceania - to us, no comparison with HAL in food. Yes, there have been a few items that might have been better, but overall the quality is excellent in our estimation. The size of the ship also (granted, a partially-full 1200 vs. over 2000) was good also. My sons upgraded us to a penthouse, so perhaps our first experience was a bit different, but the food and ambiance didn't change when we did our second on Riviera in March in a Concierge Veranda (yes, we were on the cruise that didn't stop in Bermuda). We were disappointed, but we felt that it was not their fault. After a nicely-worded note to Oceania stating our concern, we were offered some credit toward a future cruise. We had already booked a Baltic cruise on Marina for this July with our daughter and granddaughter, so we happily applied the credit to this. On board booking and the Memorial Day sale allowed us to book a penthouse for us and veranda for them. We are older and enjoy being on the ship, relaxing, reading, meeting other people. Earlier, we both explored ashore, but now I explore occasionally as my husband has mobility challenges. We have a QM2 crossing booked for next May which we'll enjoy, but I know we'll miss the Oceania food and ambiance. Others have had different experiences, but ours have been wonderful.
  17. On the July 12 Marina Baltic cruise, Gdańsk is being replaced with Ronne, Denmark.
  18. We also had a lovely time on this cruise, but of course, we were disappointed to miss Bermuda. However, we love just being on the ship and relaxing. The food generally was very good with just one or two meals with which we were a bit disappointed. We also booked a future cruise onboard (next January to the southern Caribbean to be more certain of beach days!) and are looking forward to our July cruise on Marina. As usual, the crew members were outstanding. I think all cruise lines have challenges as travel resumes, but we feel that Oceania still is our line of choice. It was nice to meet other CC members! For those of you who continued on the transatlantic - did you get to Bermuda?
  19. Thanks-our second O cruise
  20. Is there a repeaters gathering sometime?
  21. Ha! Exactly-the ship is beautiful, and the maintenance is superb.
  22. We’re enjoying the cruise, although we’re disappointed with the missing of Bermuda. We are on Deck 9 but just walked around Deck 10. Has anyone else noticed the wrinkled (badly installed) and torn wallpaper?
  23. We arrived safely from snowy Toronto and look forward to being on the ship tomorrow
