Like yourself we've never had any problem getting the same table & wait staff but we eat early & it can be arranged. They're not going to hold a specific table of any size for a group arriving between 6 & 8 PM.
It simply would shut down the restaurant just to cater to the needs/wants of a few.
While Princess promotes a so called dress code, their reasons are all motivated by $$. Their objective is only to please everyone, including themselves which they've been doing very nicely may I add.
Lets hope things never return to the old days of casual, semi formal and formal.
They had them every day in Dec/Jan on the Enchanted arriving at 5:30 AM in the IC. Since they weren't a good as in the past you could still find them in the display case later in the mornings.
Don't worry, on our last trip there were groups of older teens that found each other early in the cruise. They meet up each night at the buffet late in the evening.
Even casual clothing will suffice on formal nights lately on Princess.
Things are not as formal as they used to be so as long as he's neatly dressed, he'll be OK. (jeans included)
And I though it was just me. 😑
They had donuts every day with different icing but after trying a bite or two of a few, I just went with the croissants.
If their donuts were anything like Krispy Kreme it would have been a different story. 😄
Considering the lousy internet, exercise classes we wouldn't use and desserts we wouldn't eat I doubt if I would be tempted to purchase it.
We hit the 15 drinks per day on our last cruise most days but I should say we didn't drink all of them.
Looks like we'll forgo the internet & resort to the RumRunners once again.
I think you're making the assumption that weight is the reason why many guys no longer care to wear a jacket in the DR.
I believe it's more the fact that for years past is was considered mandatory but in todays world, it's now a choice left up to the individual- many choosing comfort over looks.
You can request a larger cut of Prime Rib if you prefer but I've always found that the quality might not be the best and you have a large portion on you plate not eaten.
I prefer to sample a normal size piece first & reorder another if is it good.
We did have steak on our last cruise but again it wasn't the greatest.
Unless your in the absolutely first walk off group you can just proceed to the disembarkation deck & get right off as you arrive. The rush to depart will be gone & the build up at customs is now a thing of the past with the facial recognition system.
Many years back (at lunch time) Princess was allowing people to eat in the DR dressed in bathing suits provided they had a cover up.
The only stipulation was that they check in their towels at the door before being seated. 😄
Just realize that until you're in the terminal you'll be standing in line with no place to sit down. It can make for a tiring morning just waiting to board the ship.
The Enchanted served them every day although they weren't a good a in past years. There was something lacking and I didn't want to consume the extra calories.
