  1. We did a TA on Silhouette in 2022, and loved it. I hope you enjoy everything.
  2. I assume you don't need any of us to tell you what it means (I only learned earlier this year) Absolutely. We get home on the 23rd from the cruise that's your fault.
  3. We were last there in October of 2021. Lounge wasn't open, but it was fine. When I start my Lives, I'll put a link to the Royal one here, and comment on the hotel there before I start. I'll move back here, for the Apex, but remind me and I'll let you know.
  4. Even though we'll be on the Xpedition in 2024, I'm following. Have a great trip.
  5. That's my go to hotel too, in fact we'll be there next Saturday night, as we board the Symphony of the Seas on Sunday, and then Apex the following Saturday.
  6. I'm in. We are doing our first time on the Apex, two weeks after you, with the same itinerary. Sorry the hotel is such a disappointment. I guess it's one night and now you know not to go back.
  7. Glen says it looks better than it tastes. I'll take his word for it, since I don't do chocolate (don't like it).
  8. Oh, right, I forgot that it had a very similar design. We were on in September - nice ship but I will never sail her again. Staff was great, but design inside makes it too crowded. Might be OK in the Caribbean though.
  9. Here's the point. Princess used to have 3 ships, the Grand, the Golden and the Star. Their bar in the back (Skywalkers) was raised up, making the ship look like a giant shopping cart. When we we on the Edge, DH noted the Magic Carpet and said "great - the Princess shopping cart ships are finally getting a shopping bag to put in them". (If you want to see a picture - google Diamond Princess. Grand had the handle removed for structural reasons, and the name Star is being reused - the Diamond is now with P&O, but AFAIK, the shopping cart handle is still there.
  10. I've been out and about all day today, but happy birthday. And they did make some tweaks to the first day lunch in Luminae. They used to have English Pea soup (which I like a lot) and now it's borsch, which my mother loved, but I hate.
  11. Thanks for the very entertaining report. Have a safe trip homem, and hope to see in in August/September.
  12. In 2015, we had dinner at the restaurant there. It was great - but I'm not sure it's the same name now. We have Marriotts booked in March for around 438 a night - but that's Singapore dollars I hope.
  13. I had a friend who was on the Bridge during the earthquake. She said they say people running towards their car like it was in a zombie movie. Also read about a guy who had acrophobia. His office window faced the freeway that was removed. He had to change offices. I was in a parking lot at the time.
  14. Looking at the menu (which is incredible) I remembered that I don't like the food in Singapore. I just told DH that I guess we're there for 3 days before our cruise so that I can lose a couple of pounds before the cruise. I don't eat fish or very spicy food, and Singapore was a real problem. Otherwise, we loved it.
  15. Why would you lose the Book on Board credit? I move bookings and keep it. They have to manually add it, but they do.
  16. I'm following as usual. In March, I'm on the Solstice on a similar itinerary, but you knew that. Hmmm, I added that to my Sydney to Vancouver because it turned out flying to Sydney was so much more that it almost paid for the cruise. (Maybe you should consider that). Have a great trip. I'm looking forward to hearing about it.
  17. In a way, you're comparing apples and oranges. Minisuite to minisuite (sky suite on X) Celebrity wins, due to the even diluted perks. Both would have showers over tubs. In balcony rooms, Celebrity's are a bit bigger, as they have a couch and Princess has a chair. Also, Celebrity bathrooms have drawers and shower doors, Princess has some shelves and shower curtains, even in mini suites. Between a Celebrity balcony and a Princess reserve minisuite, I'd go Princess.
  18. Agree on dance floor (although the Royal ships on Princess are pretty much the same as S class on X). On specialty dining, I'd give Crown Grill a slight edge over Murano, as it has a wider menu. Of course it's also about 1/2 the price of Celebrity. (I'll let you know about Fine Cut once I'm on a ship with it and try it).
  19. Your pictures are great! We're now 10.5 months from our trip and it's fun to read of others. Hope the trip is great.
  20. Menu looks good, except you're SOL if you don't like chocolate (other than boring friut).
  21. First, have a wonderful anniversary cruise. I'm following because we're on the Ascent in January 2025, and l love live froms.
