  1. Its not an IT issue. Its policy. The policy is you can book shows in advance at some changing date on oasis class ships. If you get on day 1, you can book as many as you like. Day 2 they are all sold out. Now I realize there are more to book on board, but the guy who got on day 1, most likely booked every show he wanted. You are wrong about walking on, because we experienced the exact same thing on the last oasis cruise. At that time we didn't know to book as soon as you get on. By the time we looked they were all sold out again. We then did standby and were turned away at least half of the time. The ones we got into, the seats were awful.
  2. I am on 3-12 wonder. 30 days ahead everything was sold out. They opened it up on the first of feb not 30 days as the website says. Its a sad state of affairs and the second time this has happened to me. You just never know what to expect and i am not gonna check the computer every morning so i lose.
  3. Well thats exactly the problem. If you book day 1 you can book every show you want, 7 shows!!! If you try to book day 2 there is nothing available, not a single show. This has happened to me twice. Why not let everyone book 2 shows and the rest on board????
  4. Its a healthy Mediterranean menu. Light fare. You order uour main dish and there is a buffet of other stuff. Nice place to have a quiet dinner, if you like that kind of food.
  5. Prebooking of shows has become a problem. Has royal ever considered allwing passengers to prebook a preset number of shows and then the rest on board so at least everyone gets to prebook x number of shows?
  6. I also think if you are assigned or have picked certain room categories, ie less desirable or handicap, you wont be able to bid.
  7. I wanted an owners suite so i bid $1000 each. We got it. Free casino cruise anyway. I think that landed me on the “sucker” list so now i always get to bid.
  8. Ok then you should be able to cancel, rebook, or simply transfer to casino offer. Should be no problem.
  9. Did you make final payment yet? If not you may be able to switch
  10. My only real purpose in all of this was to prove who gets your tips. It clearly doesnt all go to the steward.
  11. You can also pick up a next cruise paper at casino host, fill out the back, then you can call later and book when you get home.
  12. I am probably wrong but i thought everything had to be in cans. think vodka in a water bottle.
  13. Or they could say the great reset has left us without crew. But the path they chose sounds way better to negate the negative press surrounding this change. but i agree, like so much else with cruise ships, we will never know.
  14. Whats interesting is this lawsuit was just before the switch to auto grats. Back then they were clearly on a $50 plus tips system which was the guarantee way of paying from days of old, where they did not share tips and actually had to hire other employees to do their job. They apparently switched to the salary plus shared tips when they went to auto grats. The stewards probably did a little better with the old system.
  15. No way. Just buy your drinks and pay normal price. How many are you gonna drink while in port? You have 4. , it takes 8 more just to break even for the day usually. If you wind up having 7 you lose money. If you wind up having 9 you lose $10. Plus your body will thank you for not having 12 drinks before the casino opens!!!!
  16. On the 2/8 sailing they were working very hard and doing some major construction in the fwd port side just ahead of buffett before pool. I assumed they are totally remodeling that area.
  17. Thanks for bringing some information to this conversation.
  18. Well I can verify everything I said. Would you care to point out a few figures you disagree with and I will supply the references?????? I am sure you will not agree no matter what, but at least others might be able to determine which one of us is wrong.
  19. Yes an no. It takes less manpower to serve a streamlined menu. Now not allowing multiple lobsters, or getting rid of expensive food items, thats cost cutting and they are doing that as well. Soon there will be no food included like a hotel.
  20. We just did that one. Was a decent cruise. I would suggest booking a tour in limon or don't get off. The boat tour was reasonably interesting. The rainforest walking tour did not have any wildlife viewing (except for poison frogs).
  21. Well we have several offers with multiple sailings where its free and we get $500 obc and the usual freeplay so theres that. Get paid to cruise. That considering that we never qualified on carnival in the first place. They just matched royal's casino status.
  22. This breaks my heart. That is free for us as well and we cannot make it. Seattle, alaska, japan, australia.........What a great cruise.
  23. Most of what I see in the end is staff related. Alot of your example could be streamlining to allow for less employees vs actually saving money. They are all horribly understaffed and it has me concerned. I see the only way out is the pay more and therefore charge more and even that is questionable.
