The Fleet Report and Daily for Wednesday November 2nd, 2022
MISTER 67 replied to richwmn's topic in Holland America Line
Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. A couple of strange days there except for All Souls Day. Can't argue with the quote. Glad to see Cruise Critic is up and running again. Playing golf soon even with my bumb finger as it doesn't bother my swing, seeing the doctor later today and I'm sure he will give me some antibiotics. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 87 replies

BON VOYAGE to rafinmd and zgscl! November 9th!

Enjoy your cruise! -
We've been in a "sideways" cabin twice and they are smaller than the standard inside cabin. Washroom and closet space is the same but not much room otherwise, didn't bother us at all as all we do is sleep and shower and watch some TV in the cabin. Now the inside cabins on the newer Pinnacle class ships are a joke, except for the shower everything else was miniscule including closet space. The nightstands are ridiculously small and cheap, Walmart wouldn't bother selling them.

The Fleet Report and Daily for Tuesday November 1st, 2022

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Strange quote. We have had the meal on a few occasions and always liked it as we eat a lot of chicken. Fine selection of days but when we had dogs as pets I don't ever remember actually cooking a meal for the pooches though we did give them a few bites of our meals now and then. I think I might have an infected pointer finger on my left hand, it's pretty sore and I have no idea how this happened but I'll give it a couple more days before I see the Doctor, doesn't bother me to play golf. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 65 replies

Nieuw Statendam inside cabin size
MISTER 67 replied to CruiserKris34's topic in Holland America Line
We had an inside cabin on the Rotterdam in April, very small cabin with not enough closet space. Small bathroom but the shower was OK, twice when drying myself off I hit the soap dispenser by the sink with my elbow. My wife kept stubbing her toes on her side of the bed as the bed was only about a foot and a half from the wall. -
We have sailed with Celebrity 3 times this summer and they were all great cruises with great food and entertainment. We sailed on the Rotterdam in April and as usual there were very few shows in the main showroom and the food was not close to Celebrity. Entertainment on the Music Walk wasn't too good with terrible vocalists however the group in Lincoln Center was outstanding, we sail on the NA in December and if things continue to slide downhill we will not sail with HAL anymore.

5 Star free Pinnacle dinners being charged incorrectly
MISTER 67 replied to DaveOKC's topic in Holland America Line
Why is this occurring? Is HAL trying to get away with things or is it sloppy bookkeeping, either way it shouldn't be happening, things like this leave a bad taste in passengers mouths. -
Agree, we never thought that soup and salads were appetizers. Normally we start off with a shrimp cocktail which is the appitizer followed by soup then a salad followed by the main course and finish up with dessert. We sail on the Nieuw Amsterdam on December 4th and it will interesting to see if there are any up charges. Celebrity has no policy of charging for shrimp cocktail, in fact on a cruise on the Equinox in June and again in August, if you ordered shrimp cocktail they brought out 2 orders, I really didnt want 2 and our waiter was sort of surprised, on our Infinity cruise on Oct.1st, they only brought 1 order. We already are not happy with lack of production shows on HAL and if they continue to to skimp we will stop sailing with them and cruise mainly with Celebrity and maybe Princess.

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Happy Holloween but it's been decades since I carved a pumpkin. Ghandi with another great quote. Chicken Provolone sounds good but will pass on the drink. The golf course is calling me. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 108 replies

The Fleet Report and Daily for Sunday October 30th, 2022

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Good quote and selection of days. I'm not sure if candy corn is the same thing as carmel corn which I love. I'll pass on the meal because we won't eat Tilapia. Weather is still great down here, mid 80's everyday with low humidity and no rain in the forecast. Astros won last night and the series is tied with the next 3 games in Philly. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 97 replies

The Fleet Report and Daily for Saturday October 29th, 2022

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Good quote from from Plato, a pretty smart Greek who I might be related to LOL. I like Taco's so I'm sure I would like the meal. We have been to Colon and took the train ride along the Canal all the way down to Panama City. We've also have sailed through the Canal a couple of times. Just back from breakfast at Bob Evan's, I needed a biscuit and sausage gravy fix along with some scrambled eggs, DW had her usual Rise and Shine breakfast. Phillies with a nice come from behind victory in game 1 of the World Series. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 70 replies

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Everyday is chocolate day for me. Never been to the port. World Series starts tonight, not sure who to pull for, I'm usually for the American League team but not a fan of the Astros who cheated when they won the WS a few years ago. I Like the quote but not the food or drink. Off to the golf course. Thanks for The Daily, stay well and have a great day.- 92 replies

If you sail with MSC in the summer there are going to be a gazillion kids as they sail for free as 3rd and 4th passengers in a cabin. Both lines have beautiful ships but we prefer the smaller HAL ships. MSC has great entertainment, more visual because of the many different languages on board but the Italian show is great as is the Michael Jsckson and Elton John shows. MSC also offers shorter versions of great operas such as Madame Madame Butterfly and La Traviata which were unbelievably good. Food is good on both lines with MSC getting extra points for their Italian dishes and Pizza.
