  1. There is a thread about this in the Celebrity forum, from people on Millennium, entitled Japan 2024 canceled…
  2. We're booked in an inside on 28 March 2024. It was not a "lift and shift". Really hoping we don't get cancelled. This is my husband's bucket list trip and we booked very far out in order to be sure to get the cherry blossom. Those alternative dates don't interest us. Going in 2025 would mean cancelling my bucket list trip to the Galapagos. It's a lot to think about. I see Celebrity are only giving people until 1st May before they refund them. That's not a lot of time to make new plans, request leave, etc.
  3. Norwegian parliament adopts zero-emission regulations in World Heritage fjords - UNESCO World Heritage Centre
  4. I can recommend the Norwegian fjords (and I've heard that Norway is going to make things more difficult for shops in the future, so now might be a good time to do them). If you have the budget and are into wildlife, then I'd suggest the Galapagos islands. We have just booked for 2025
  5. Corkage fee actually comes to $30, as it's $25 + gratuity
  6. They also charge a corkage fee even if they mishandle the wine and pour you a glass full of sediment
  7. Just wondering if anyone knows when these will become available?
  8. I agree. It’s not cool at all. For example, there is a lot of ignorance on this board about Martinique and Guadeloupe. A little basic research would tell people that these are not your average Caribbean islands. They are an integral part of France and as such they 1. Speak French (hardly shocking) and 2. Require payment in Euro (the only legal tender of France). Yelling at people in English whilst brandishing Dollars isn’t going to get people very far. In my experience it’s ignorance and rudeness that cause most problems. My attitude to travel is that I am going to discover new places, new cultures, new food. It isn’t going to be exactly the same as at home. That’s the whole point. I am the one who needs to adapt. If all I want is a suntan, I can stay at home, use a sunbed and save a load of money.
  9. When is it though? I’m looking at early 2025 as we doing a Japan cruise next year. Because it sounds perfect!
  10. I've done a search and I spent quite some time last week on the Equinox investigating. I really didn't find anything I wanted to book. I wonder if Regent might be an alternative? Have been playing around on *****
  11. I must have done too many cruises as I've been to all of those before. I've cruised HAL before, but have higher status with Celebrity. Maybe I need to switch lines, you're right
  12. Islands such as: Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, Bahamas (not Nassau), BVIs, Grenada, Monserrat, St Barths, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos...
  13. Looking for a Caribbean cruise in early 2025, but nothing really grabs my attention. There are lots of islands I haven't visited, but it seems Celebrity never goes there. Is it because the ships are too big? Are cruise lines banned from certain islands?
  14. I believe the alcoves differ between ships. I don't think the Equinox ones are anything special, to be honest
  15. We just used ours without any difficulty (left the ship on Saturday). As long as there is enough on there, it won't be a problem
  16. Just off Equinox. The beef tournedos in the MDR was extremely good. The classic steak, less so. I believe that’s all there was.
  17. OK, so here is what happened with us, in case anyone else has the same question: - We took on 4 bottles of wine (2 each) in our carry-ons. No problem with this. - We put through the scanner, separately, the bottles of spirits we had bought to take home. Security reacted immediately to this. After an initially hostile reaction, we were taken over to a desk to have it "confiscated". The person who did the actual "confiscating" was absolutely fine and gave us a receipt for what she took from us - it was obviously a standard procedure. Departure paperwork indicated we would have to retrieve anything that had been confiscated in the terminal after leaving the ship. However, this wasn't the case. It was actually returned to us in our cabin on the last day of the sailing. My advice is to just keep repeating to security "we bought this to take home after the cruise and want to hand it in"
  18. I have these: Amphib Bold 2 - Chaussures de running pour femme | Salomon
  19. I had this very same question. What worries me is that alcohol is on the prohibited list and it says that those items will not be returned. Does anyone have any actual stories, rather than theories?
  20. Do you know where the meeting point is for all of your excursions? I thought I was ready and realised this was information I hadn't made a note of
  21. Hello. The first thing you need to do is check if you are really sailing from Venice (very unlikely) or if you are sailing from somewhere like Ravenna (much more likely). Transit time from Venice to Ravenna is at least a couple of hours. The only hotel I've stayed in in Venice is the Hotel Metropole (Official Website Hotel Metropole in Venice | Book a stay now), which we loved. It has very easy access to the vaporetto and St Mark's square
  22. You may be better off asking this in the ports of call section
