  1. People have questioned why I live in California because of my and its politics being incompatible. 🙂 This is why I live here 😉 I'm not even going to put a coat when I go outside.
  2. I have a CPAP and not having to haul that around is a benefit too. I know that some people say that just stick it in your luggage before handing it to the porter but if somehow it got missed and left shoreside my trip would be ruined. I could live and survive with the clothes in a suitcase. The week of poor sleep would be awful.
  3. That's exactly what we paid. I got it for our upcoming Adventure of the Seas cruise for 18.99 pppd. If I only got the internet and the boarding lunch I broke even. I like not having to go to the buffet on Embarkation day and would almost always pay for a specialty lunch so with that and always getting the internet I consider that my break even point. We have no tender ports so that's not a big deal but I like the reserved seating for the ice show. That is my favorite entertainment and getting a good seat is always important to me. Anything else I use is just gravy. On all my other cruises it ranges from 36.99 to 49.99 pppd. No way I'd pay that price for what is on offer.
  4. You should cancel. This is definitely going to be the cruise from hell.
  5. What was interesting was the difference between the two weeks I was on. The first week we had about 100% the second week we had 120% capacity. That second week the ship was packed. You definitely felt a difference in the MDR. The food was fine but the service was definitely different. Weirdly, the Solarium was a ghost town the second week. I don't think we went into the Windjammer once. Breakfast was usually Solarium Bistro and never crowded and lunch varied between a couple specialty restaurants, Sorrento's and Park cafe or Mini Bites. I think we hit up Solarium Bistro for a late lunch on a a port day one day they were open for lunch We lunch off the ship in Cozumel.
  6. We did a B2B in Dec on Harmony... It was my first time doing 14 days in a row. I gained 10 lbs and was happy that that was all. I ate like a Boa Constrictor and drank like prohibition was starting the week I got home. I've dropped 5 off it so far. 🙂
  7. We saw the same thing on Harmony in Dec. Over the course of the last 12 months there has been incremental improvements. I'm sure that some will always complain no matter what but I think things are getting better.
  8. That’s per person so Uber is cheaper if you have 2 or more people
  9. Nope…. There were a few of us on Harmony last month. you’ll be in the minority but not alone 😀
  10. No his front bumper is clear. The only impediment I can see when going close in on the pic is that his rear bumper is dragging on the ground. But, assuming he has good traction, he should be able to drag that through. I suspect the problem is he doesn't want to damage his trailer skin by driving through that sign. We used to haul newsprint and the integrity of the exterior on a trailer was critical. Depending on what he is hauling he may be scared. He'd probably be OK but when you get yourself in the middle of mess like that you don't always think really clearly.
  11. Oh man... that Tomahawk is going to cost me some money. I have the UDP but I just know that the temptation to pay for the upgrade is going to overwhelm me
  12. Unfortunately, it isn't a consistent thing like checkin is... On Harmony last time time they opened it up on the evening of the 31st. I just happened to check just to be sure.
  13. Yes the Diamond Lounge is now called the Crown Lounge and is on every ship. It has key card access. It is accessible by anyone Diamond Status or higher.
  14. Look for reservations to open up round about the 1st of May
  15. It's on sale for 30% for my next two cococay visits. $124 Icon... 134 Oasis. As Biker mentioned it varies by sailing and ship.
  16. Just note that if you get "Grande" sized drinks with to shots of espresso they hit you for two stamps.
  17. I discovered that all Park Cafe's are not equal. Park Cafe on Harmony didn't have fancy coffee like Oasis did. We had to go to Cafe Promenade for that.
  18. Speaking of interactions with famous hockey players... My wife came home and asks me... "Who is Tim Hunter" I said "he is a goon who plays for the Canucks. He gets in a lot of fights. Why do you ask?" She was shopping at a store called Zellers. (Zellers is gone now but was kind of like a Canadian version of Walmart before Walmart came to Canada). She was in the check out line and the cashier asked for an autograph of the man in the line in front of her. The cashier identified him as Tim Hunter. They chatted briefly as they both walked back to their respective cars. He was very friendly with my wife. She said.. "Man, that's got to be the ugliest man I have ever met but he was really really sweet" LOL My favorite NHL'r I ever met was Dave "Tiger" Williams. The guy was hilarious, could drink like a fish and the most down to earth guy you would ever meet.
  19. Later this year we hit D+ and will probably be content with the Bogo and a couple of lunches. Lunch in specialty restaurants was our greatest discovery. It is such a civilized way to start your cruise. That mad rush at the buffet just seems to put me on edge.
  20. We always do specialty for embarkation day lunch and usually at least a couple more sea day lunches as well. I agree they are the best value for specialty dining. We have had the UDP a few times and have it booked for Icon coming up but were OK with MDR for the most part. I like to do the Hibachi for dinner if they have one and maybe one more if they have the Chops plus +1 in the cruise planner.
  21. Ok that is a bit a different. We had one, Ovation I think, where DW listed my email and it got screwed up and never showed up. I'd contact C&A about it. I think they will forward your concern to the ship. Hopefully that will fix it.
  22. DW and I received different emails.
  23. Thanks for adding this... I've never sailed out of CL. First time will be this coming September.
