  1. We really like Chilean wines. Very cheap in Mexico and very good
  2. Pretty sure I don't need your investing advice. Should I sell my Apple stock I bought in 2004 or Microsoft in 2001? I understand no profit until I sell, but I think RC will come back and be a good investment from today. I sell stocks I think will not do well going forward. Seems you made a mistake selling the utility stock. BTW - Since I really don't need any invested money, ( I guess my kids should decide what I should sell) all dividend are reinvested.
  3. 13 years ago I bought RC stock and have gotten an annual return just over 9.5% with today's stock price. PLUS, since we take longer cruises, have also gotten 100% of our original investment back in tax free OBC. And will get another $700 in the next 24 months. As far as cost of items on the ship, really has no place in this discussion. First, even with the OBC we still have a bill at the end - between wifi, UDP and other purchases that we would buy with or without the OBC and second, we really don't price shop on the cruise - if we want something we buy it. If the price of a beer is $4 more than on land, too bad, I'm not on land. And if you don't want to spend the on board prices, cruising may not be for you.
  4. Sorry, but multiple times you have said you throw tantrums when you don't get your way.
  5. I haven't seen wine packages for at least 5 years. We usually bought one.
  6. Lol. I agree. I’ve ask what if I don’t like the wine. They laugh. We bring wine 3 nights a week in Mexico and it’s the same thing. Pour a taste and wait for response.
  7. We were on Radiance north bound last year if an aft cabin and had no issues with internet. We would get dropped a few times when not using it and had to log back in, but while using, we stayed connected and speed was ok
  8. I've never seen a crowd and not had an issue getting seated for lunch on embarkation day. We just go to which ever restaurant is open that day. I do have a list of dinners for other nights that I asked to be reserved before we are seated. Never had an issue.
  9. For 2 of us, usually $10 for lunch and $15 to $20 for dinner, depending on waiter. We’ve never had a bad waiter in any specialty restaurant and usually request them on our return visits.
  10. One of the reasons we decided on a Bancomer account. Branches in SA and Europe
  11. Totally wrong - almost every contract has a mechanism to increase prices and / or for the buyer to get a lower price. I spent most of my career negotiating B2B contracts and rarely are there fixed price contracts. Don't forget, Royals vendors also have to buy either product or materials from someone else, and the vendors' cost is also increasing.
  12. I think they would say they liked them even if they did not. Plus, we like to engage the bartenders and they remember us and what we drink without handing out $2 bills. I do think if a bartender can collect almost a month's salary of bills just cause he likes them, we may have to reconsider the tipping thread.
  13. So a New Zealander visiting Orlando should expect businesses to take NZ dollars? Or is this just for Americans with USD traveling?
  14. My experience with Royal (and most other vendors) is that charges take 2 to 3 days after showing up on my card as pending, to process to a transaction charge. Your card will show the pending charge, but will not be final until the vendor closes it out. Usually 2 to 3 days.
  15. I think anyone with half a mind knew how this would turnout. Not offered on any of my cruises, but would have booked if it was, just in case the 1 in 100 chance they honored it. Since this only started yesterday, I would think all the charges are pending on everyone's cc. Wonder if they will disappear or turn into actual charges they have to credit.
  16. I will tell you in Mexico, most places that accept USD, will not take either 2 dollar bills or any coins. The servers at restaurants and bars we frequent will ask us to exchange their $2 and coins for either other USD or pesos. Even US based grocery stores in Mexico won't take them. So unless they are spending them in a US port, it is probably an issue.
  17. Pre Covid my goal was always $20 per day for a great price. Post Covid, $28 is a good price - I don't think you will get much cheaper than $288.
  18. Not sure if they would get any US tax docs, but if they did, it would be a 1099 NEC, not MISC
  19. This is where you start coughing and ask your seat mate “do I feel hot? I don’t feel good and feel nauseous “
  20. Maybe. I don't think it says how many vouchers you have to use for each discounted bottle of wine. Not sure you can assume 1 voucher per bottle.
