It would be brand suicide to do cancel paying customers cruises plus have a big knock on effect on hotels and even other cruise lines. Cunard does a 26 night with NCL sailing in the middle in NYC at christmas and hundreds of passenger get off for the NYC sailing and hundreds more get on QM2 for that NY carribean sailing. Housing migrants would drive a coach and horses through that package.
But it is the azores is a Sunday. Any other day would be great but Sunday in Portgual a lot of things close though they may open for 5k people coming off a ship. I am hopeful they do.
Why don't Royal miss out the Azores and just go for Cococay and then straight over a week at sea or 8 days at sea to Cherburg and then Le Harve or whatever?
If Baltimore is such a great cruise location how come to my knowledge only a small Royal class ship sails out of their. Grandeour isn' it. And why has Philly never invested in it's cruise terminal?
We had planned to do this trip back in 2019 (eastbound TA we changed ito the NCL Pearl) and they took Halifax off it without any explaination and I was unawre that DC was not a port city. I assumed it was but fair enough. And I would not get off in Baltimore as I have no wish to get shot and i don't think Baltimore could handle the Anthem? And is Philly not a port city?
I would take private car service. Especially with the way the trains are these days strkes take place on saturdays and the sunday train service is always poor.
We are the eastbound T/A in May 2023 and we don't get Boston or Halifax on our crossing. I am just wondering why it doesn't go to cococay yet it goes to the azores and the QM2 on it's T/As goes nowhere near the azores misses them by 100s of miles I think.
So if they give us lets say a 3pm boarding though are platinum members now with Cunard. Will we be sat in those chairs from like 11.30-3pm? Or does being platinum get us priority boarding?
Sorry if I sound like a broken record here guys but are they still checking you in and boarding you by colour and how do they assign those colours? They used to do that before Covid.
We are going on first westbound T/A in April we don't have our boarding time assigned yet of course and we are planning to check out of our hotel about 11am and head up to the terminal. Do you reckon we will have to wait around in colour code?
No and any attempt to do so would get you a lifetime ban from NCL with no appeal possible I suspect. And you would be caught because of the smell of it.
I thought masks where REQUIRED on that trip - the 28 or 29 night soton-soton via le harve nyc and canada - not STRONGLY ENCOURGED or however they word it?
Be sure to call into the Longacre tavern over on West 47th great food, great drinks and great staff. And if you want a good steak dinner go to Nick and Stefs by Penn Station. There is also a massive food court in the world famous Plaza Hotel which was on home alone 2. All the local resturants have stands.
All the best buddy.
You will be fine on the plane. Just think about all the exiciting things you will get to do in NYC😀.
Where are you staying in the city? What are you planning to see?
