I would take private car service. Especially with the way the trains are these days strkes take place on saturdays and the sunday train service is always poor.

Why don't we get Boston or perhaps DC on the estbound crossing? We don't get anything till the Azores? Yet Anthem goes to azores both ways?

We are the eastbound T/A in May 2023 and we don't get Boston or Halifax on our crossing. I am just wondering why it doesn't go to cococay yet it goes to the azores and the QM2 on it's T/As goes nowhere near the azores misses them by 100s of miles I think.

So if they give us lets say a 3pm boarding though are platinum members now with Cunard. Will we be sat in those chairs from like 11.30-3pm? Or does being platinum get us priority boarding?

Sorry if I sound like a broken record here guys but are they still checking you in and boarding you by colour and how do they assign those colours? They used to do that before Covid. We are going on first westbound T/A in April we don't have our boarding time assigned yet of course and we are planning to check out of our hotel about 11am and head up to the terminal. Do you reckon we will have to wait around in colour code?

No and any attempt to do so would get you a lifetime ban from NCL with no appeal possible I suspect. And you would be caught because of the smell of it.

So why the change out of Boston? When people got on/off in New York instead of Boston? It just seems strange to change in Boston and not NYC?

I thought masks where REQUIRED on that trip - the 28 or 29 night soton-soton via le harve nyc and canada - not STRONGLY ENCOURGED or however they word it?

Be sure to call into the Longacre tavern over on West 47th great food, great drinks and great staff. And if you want a good steak dinner go to Nick and Stefs by Penn Station. There is also a massive food court in the world famous Plaza Hotel which was on home alone 2. All the local resturants have stands. All the best buddy.

Are Top hat and Marigold Hotel on the QM2? They weren't on during the eastbound T/A Fijords cruise in Aug/Sept? We had Rhythm of the night, Apassionata, Broadway rocks and Be Our Guest which I saw in 2019 which has the music of PT Barnum from the Greatest Show in it. That is how I know I have seen it before. They didn't do the bond show either on our sailing but done in 2019

All of the shows seems to have been around since at least 2016/17 apart from the Bond themed on that is about 3 years old I think? Do you think they will roll out a new one by April 23? All 3 ships do the same shows don't they?

I never thought about the picture. That was taking when we at check in. They must have been pretty quick getting our keycard to the cabin then because I shot to the cabin with the 2 bags in Brooklyn while my father boarded behind me and got seats in the golden lion and the card was there. Unless the embedding can be done by computer? In brooklyn all you had was a paper thing with barcode similar to the baggage tag you put on suitcase in the airport.

Sorry to raise this question but there is no way cabin have been over allocated is there? Another thing maybe again a Brooklyn thing but when we wen't onboard QM2 we got a slip of paper to scan when we boarded and our key card was in an envelope in the mail slot outside of our cabin and from what we could tell all the cabins had these evenlopes with key cards in them. And since your name is on the keycard I don't see how they can allocate it when you arrive?

Are they still doing the check in by colour scheme thing? Do people still sit in those seats for 2 hours waiting to be called forward by group? Or has all that all gone now and they take them in as they came like at Brooklyn?

Was it their decision? Or the ships? You don't have a choice if it is the ships and P&O doesn't care how they get home if they don't want you on the ship you are not on the ship anymore.

But the entire point of it at least from Cunard prospective is to protect the entertainment operation as a whole or so I have been told and they see no end in sight to mask wearing. They cancelled a QM2 cruise because the entertainment team came down with it and they saw no point to conducting an entertainmentless T/A crossing. Perhaps Royal is not pursuing the same objectives? Strangely the westbound QM2 T/A masks where required yet the previous fijords, short france and eastbound T/A they where not despite nearly all the passenger from those sailings leavings before the westbound T/A.

I was always under the impression you could rock up at Southampton and they took a look at the boarding time and give you a colour card wasn't it? And you would sit there and they would check in by colour and they would announce each colour to approach the booking line? Are they not doing that anymore?
