  1. TECHNICALLY they are not allowed, but people report bringing them on with them. There was recently a report on a social media site about a Revlon hair dryer/straightener almost catching fire due to fluctuating voltage (?/current?) onboard.
  2. Two things: 1) you can cash out your OBC at the Casino if you don't want/need to spend it and 2) you can bring a drink with you INTO the specialty restaurants if you don't want to upgrade. Oh, I guess there are 3 things... Yes, I agree with @CruizinSusan70 that the well spirits are, indeed, no name rot gut
  3. It's actually MORE than that to upgrade once onboard. You pay the $20pp/pday plus gratuity. It is never cheaper to upgrade onboard.
  4. Yes, yes, they do. You cannot pick and choose which days to have the package. It's all or nothing.
  5. Don't cut it that close, especially if you have to park!
  6. espeically when one of the two is a big, sweaty hubby 🙂 If I even tried to wash his t shirts in the sink they would never dry, thus the laundry. (but agree on never sending out anything of value)
  7. EASILY. Underwear = 1 piece. Bra = 1 piece. PJ top = 1 piece... Plus items that we fly in that we will NOT re-wear until washed 😉
  8. Another "mystery" that has not been solved. There is no 40% discount on prepaid spa package unfortunately.
  9. It's a matter of their IT department being lousy. For example they also don't update their "calendars" in their search. There is still January 2023 (huh?) as a possible sail date. You would think that there would be some dynamic programming that only allows searching for FUTURE sail dates, but no... Alas, on the solo offer that is no longer there, but no one has gotten around to removing it from the website. Between the long lunches, espresso breaks, afternoon siestas, their IT dept overseas hasn't removed it yet... 🙂
  10. Wow, that's one heck of an increase. I've always bought either the 20 or 40 piece package but these prices are making me rethink...
  11. To be fair, there have been multiple times when we've been asked to "wait in Topsail" and had we done that we'd be a good hour behind the "normal folks" getting off for excursions, disembarkation, etc. I was on the December Meraviglia sailing that had a sad Man Overboard incident. We were asked to wait in Topsail for disembarkation rather than queue downstairs like the 1000's of other folks who were already 3+ hours late in getting off. Had I followed that guidance I might have been more comfortable (than standing first in line), but would have definitely added a LOT of time to finally making it off the ship. So, yes, there are times when YC thinks it's doing people a favor by asking them to "wait" to be escorted off but it's really to their detriment.
  12. NO, most of these are all still in place. Butlers will no longer put away and hang your clothing when you first board - yes, they can do it but many people (ME INCLUDED) find it odd to ask someone else to put away our clothes Butlers no longer provide additional nuts and snacks in the minibar (other than what might first be there when you board) - correct, one and one on the packaged snacks Butlers no longer provide additional small liquor bottles, but instead provide you with one large bottle of your choice.... ? correct Butlers can no longer take you to the front row at the evening show - the YC seating is generally in the rear and there is no first row reserved seating; they can certainly walk you down to the first row but there will likely already be people there sitting and the YC butler cannot remove them Gelato is no longer a "free" benefit - correct You cannot get coffee drinks at Jean Philippe... ? you can get them, you just have to pay for them
  13. Ah, the famous MSC Rep... was wrong, unfortunately. Fantastica has fixed dining. As far as breakfast room service - cold, continental items only. Hot food (limited choices) will have a surcharge.
  14. #1) ANYTHING can happen with your current booking #2) ZERO chance of you getting it once onboard To me, not worth potentially messing things up.
  15. Thanks for your first post and welcome to MSC.
  16. Have asked on both Mera and Divina; did not receive on either.
  17. I'm sure someone will... it literally just got into port.
  18. Oh dear... if you open up the reservation you will open up a CAN OF WORMS....
  19. 10:30 - 11:00 is a good time to board if you are in YC.
  20. Getting a raised seal birth certificate from where you were born is generally fast and you can usually pay to expedite it. That's likely your best bet at this time. Agree with @mscdivina2016 that showing up with a photocopy might be huge risk and you might be turned away. Do not, however, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BELIEVE anything a phone MSC rep tells you. If they say "no problem" and you show up at the port and are told no you will be 100% out of luck.
  21. We've had our specialty meal on cruises of 3, 4, and 7 days. However, thing's might be a'changin...
  22. Huh, what? If you can't taste or tell the difference between the La Terre "house" wine and a glass of something better than you do you, boo. But I know I can. Every. Single. Day.
  23. Choo choo! Welcome aboard the hot mess express! So the bid process has nothing to do with your GTY cabin assignment and if you had a cabin and they sent you an email it would not put you back into G00000. Best bet is to log into your reservation to see if its assigned there. Bon chance!
