Exactly. I checked first thing this morning to see whether there were any better Med. cruises in 2024 (in terms of ships/itineraries) or I should just stick with the Sept. 2023 cruise I have booked now. Instead, nothing. So frustrating.

When will Celebrity's 2024 European cruise schedule be released?
TheHawk1 replied to Ommadawn's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It originally was supposed to be December 8. I checked today and it now says December 14. Good to see their release dates are so reliable. -
Exactly for this reason. If you order soda at a bar or restaurant you will only get Coke or Diet Coke (Coke Zero if you’re lucky), in the cola family. I like Coke Zero with Lime or Lemon during the day and Caffeine Free Diet Coke in the evenings. Yes I consider myself a Coke connoisseur 😀. I have ordered the soda package on all my Oasis class cruises because of the convenience and variety of the Freestyle machines. Cost is not even a consideration.

There is another Celebrity Antigua excursion called “Ultimate Beach Experience: Beach Escape”. It is 4 hours long but does not specify which beach… does anyone know? This would be for an end of February cruise on Edge.

I am shocked at the prices for cruises in 2023!

Do you have a degree in economics? Based on your comments, I’m thinking no. -

Yes prices for cruises are high, as are hotels, airlines, rental cars, etc. it seems almost everyone in the travel industry is gouging customers now to make up for lost time during Covid. Just wait until the predicted recession comes along later in 2023. I’m sure you’ll see prices start to drop again to more reasonable numbers soon enough. -
I never said the shows were Broadway quality, but the other Oasis class productions far exceed this Royal home-grown show. I'll take Grease, Hairspray or Mama Mia any day... at least there's an actual story with some decent songs.
-
Maybe if you’re 10. Otherwise, it’s ridiculously juvenile with a storyline about singing Power Rangers or some such. Not even close to the Broadway shows on other Oasis class ships.

Similar situation here. Last summer, I booked an upcoming cruise on the Apex for Feb. 17, 2024. While checking Black Friday deals, the cruise no longer shows on Celebrity web site. I find it hard to believe that it is completely sold out 15 months in advance? Is there the potential it's been converted to a charter cruise and Celebrity isn't telling us?

That’s unfortunate. I was on Symphony in 2020 pre Covid. Not sure why they would change their theme night when they already had the costumes and music for 80’s?

12 Nights of Luminae Food Photos - Celebrity Edge
TheHawk1 replied to QM2 Cruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Thank you for the pictures. Compared to the vague descriptions of the menu items in the app, this actually gives me a sense of what is being offered in Luminae for my upcoming February cruise. However, if the photos are also an indication of the portion size that's being served, then I'll probably be heading to the buffet after my dinner for a snack 😆 -
The party theme must depend on the ship. Symphony has an 80's night and it was much better than the usual tired 70's parties. Unfortunately, Harmony has a 90's night, which was not a good decade for music.

On Wonder of the Seas, It’s so crowded :(

Effectors 2 is bad... something like Power Rangers the Musical. But still marginally better than Cats 😁 -

There are 4 permanent hooks underneath the TV (at least in balcony cabins). Wonder is the first Oasis class ship I've seen these installed on. While they are far from the bathroom, they are still helpful for hanging bathing suits. Although since I always bring my own magnetic hooks, I had plenty of them on my last trip 😁 -
Maybe it was changed as part of the dry dock retrofit, but Oasis certainly didn't have the bathroom nightlight feature when it first sailed, unlike the later Harmony, Symphony, Wonder class ships that do now.

Good to know at least one thing has been updated for the passenger's benefit. A freshly painted hull is hardly a big enticement for me to book a cruise 😄
-
Nice rant, but not really germane to my point. Booking show reservations has no cost attached to it, whether it's done online through the cruise planner or onboard through the ship's app. Since the introduction of Oasis of the Seas, people could pre-book their show reservations before their sailing. Then, when cruising resumed after the pandemic, that option was suddenly gone. I believe there are several online reports that Michael Bayley said don't expect things to go back to the way they were, with respect to booking shows. Why the change of heart now? My point is that Royal made this IT change using Covid as an excuse. Maybe it's just less hassle for Royal, but it's also a convenience for passengers that they've lost. If they're bringing it back now for some sailings, which costs them absolutely nothing btw, then great news.

A fellow Canadian with no sense of humour... big surprise. It was tongue in cheek, so calm down.

Or if I were lawyer, perhaps I'd start a class action law suit. Sounds like age discrimination to me.
-
I can see the logic behind car rentals, as lots of jurisdictions have age restrictions on driving. But sitting on a bus or even walking on a guided tour shouldn't be limited based on your age.
-
This excursion is primarily a bus tour, so apart from getting on/off the bus, not sure what activity there would be that a 75 year old would be fine with, but the 80 year old wouldn't? Seems very arbitrary, but it certainly limits what excursions I'm able to book for my parents who are joining us on this cruise.
-
I was looking at recent shore excursions, specifically one called Panoramic St. Lucia, for a Feb. 2023 cruise and noticed an alert in the reservation window that says maximum age limit is 80 years old. I can understand having a minimum age for example if the tour wouldn't really be appropriate for children. But why would Celebrity (or the tour provider) have an upper age limit? I know some 80 years who are far healthier and more active than much younger people, so shouldn't the limiting criteria be mobility rather than age, if anything?
