  1. Maybe in the past. Many loyal suite cruisers are actively booking other lines.
  2. We have sailed the CS a number of times on S-Class ships like Eclipse. You will enjoy it. You will still get dedicated butler service - a number of the complaints you see here are are about Sky Suites. You will get excellent food and service in your daily dining venue, Luminae. IMO it is a step above the RCCL version Coastal Kitchen. So ignore us here and just enjoy your cruise! Look forward to hearing from you again!
  3. In a financial manner yes. The leveraging they needed to do during the Covid shutdown resulted in massive debt and the holders of this debt in reality are the new "owners".
  4. Do you remember when they downsized the martini glasses at the Martini Bar? They used to be a lot larger to go with your Premium drink package.
  5. Dear @aml3679 You will be on a cruise and please enjoy your celebration. Congrats! The butler change will likely not make very much difference to you as you have a lot of other things to enjoy like dining in Luminae!
  6. Nothing in this article states that any Celebrity ship will be refurbished.
  7. I have to disagree. There is only one CEO and that is of the RCG, Jason Liberty. The rest of them are Presidents of their cruise lines. Michael Bayley holds a title of President and CEO of RCCL but the CEO part is pretty meaningless in the corporate structure. What is most meaningful is that LH Bethge is a career operations person at RCCL chosen to run Celebrity as President. An Operations executive will carry out the orders from the top (RCG) and that is exactly what we are seeing.
  8. My guess is that somebody will eventually bring you drinks to your suite. Eventually. Be prepared to wait for them.
  9. Jim thanks for posting! I have never seen this before.
  10. So did you order breakfast by hanging the tag on the door the prior evening? Or is that service gone too? One of the only things we had our butler do was deliver breakfast and set it up on our balcony. Not much else really.
  11. Linda my short answer is yes we are not sailing Celebrity on our next few cruises. We have for many years sailed suites on Celebrity exclusively with an occasional suite on RCCL. They have lost us for the time being as we find better options elsewhere (at least we think so but who really knows until they try?). It is too bad really since they were an excellent option for us in the past.
  12. Not quite. If you are in a suite they have it available in a cabinet in the Retreat Lounge so you can carry some back to your bathroom. But the cabinet is only open during the day.
  13. $150 a night pp? $CDN? Where and how?
  14. Yeah welcome to the Motel 6 of cruise lines, Celebrity. They'll leave the light on for ya.😀
  15. If you want good wine recommended and served by a true sommelier than go to a land restaurant. On a cruise, you likely know more than the crew member play-acting sommelier. So just order something you pick out.
  16. Obviously. But my post was about the fact that his empire was built off of Margaritaville.
  17. Interesting thread. Post a recent table of CC benefits with just an updated date. People here play Where's Waldo looking for some type of takeaways. Has it really come to this on Celebrity?
  18. Not sure why a certified true sommelier would accept the low pay (even with tips) on a cruise ship with limited wine selections. Most are just crew members with some standard knowledge of wine in my experience.
  19. Jimmy Buffet left a net worth of over 1 $billion. Not a bad life's work from one famous song. RIP.
  20. Yes good idea! I want to have separate forums for Lobster vs Non-Lobster threads.
  21. Phone reps are sitting in a call center (or at home) handling multiple cruise lines. I think many have never been on a cruise ship.
  22. Alternative. Can you book non-Celebrity excursions at a better price?
